Yep it was more responsive then the stock twins, and held boost all the way to red line.

Rb26 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results
hypergear replied to SLY33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Stock Rb26 with APR head studs HKS Cam gears +9" inlet, 0 exhaust. R35 GTR coil packs Trigger kit ID 1650cc injectors Twin 540 Walbro pumps+11m fuel line Apexi FMIC Trust 3 inches turbo back exhaust PS2000 Nismo Front mount cooler T4 high mount exhaust manifold HyperGear 50mm External gate HyperGear ATR45SS Prototype T4 Vband rear 3 inches front pipe with cutout Final result so far 377awkw @ 25psi E85 fuel. 220AWKS @ 4000RPM. 20PSI @ 3500RPM -
Further development on the T4 printed turbo on Rb26. This prototype made a pretty big differences, peek 377awkws while making 20psi by 3500RPM and 220rwkws @ 4000RPM. Will doing few more things and hopefully seeing 420awkws+ without loosing response.

Older ATR43 prototype. Katashi 600x300x100mm cooler with return flow piping VS 3inches FMIC piping. Nothing else has been changed on the car. I've tried different brands of return flow coolers kits including Greddy, Blitz, PWR, HKS, and normal FMIC with return flow piping. Nothing worked to expectations. Out of the lot as a complete off shelf return flow kit. HKS had the best performance.
-
Blitz return flow and pretty much any return flow cooler kit and internal gate senario in my experience had a boost pressure drop problem. I replaced it with a proper FMIC and made pretty decent gain. Secondily, GT28 turbine is on the small side for a Rb25det. I would go for a bigger size high flow, external gate, and a bigger PWR FMIC to make better power. The Camshaft in your case will not help.
-
I think Its already close to its maximum capacity at this point. I won't be able to run much boost into stock bottom end. So planning to upsize Camshafts that should increase the power to boost ratio.
-
Stock engine with head studs. Coming from Rb25det Neo motor, this is abit laggy for how I like it to be. Working on a different turbo direct at moment for same power and better response.
-
Fully stock motor. I'm getting 425awkws at 26psi at moment on E85 fuel with a GTX35 size turbo. Probably around 460ish kw in rear wheel.

To make about 270rwkws on pump 98 fuel from a stock manual R33 GTST, this were the parts and costs from one of my older projects: 800cc Xpurt injectors: $600 Walbro 540L Fuel pump: $200 Adaptronic ECU with Air temp sensor: $1500 HyperGears High flowed stock turbo: $950 Turbosmart Boost controller: $100 600x300x100mm Aeroflow cooler: $230 JJR's FMIC cooler piping kit: $250 3inches turbo back exhaust: $550 3inches intake pipe with Pod: $200 Split fire coil packs: $650 Xtreme clutch kit: $1650 Dyno tune: $800 All up: $7680 Assume all mechanical work carried out by your self

Some more time in prototyping, using the same set of housings but different wheel profile, I've managed to gain 250RPM RPM of better response while no lose in power, it is a pretty good out come consider no wheel size changes. I'll make custom housings next and see if that could improve response further. Red is Current ATR45SS-1 and Blue is prototype.

Testing the cut out the GTT made 17kws on 421rwkws with no other mods. I've had cars with 3.5 and 4 inches exhaust, its a struggle for room under the car fitting the right mufflers. The cut out doesn't open till 20psi, Car now is stockish quite on cruise and doesn't restrict performance.
-
ATR28G2 with a BB upgrade in T2 .64 internally gated would be something nice to make up to 350rwhp with excellent response.
-
Thats the usual amount of power seeing with supporting mods and boost given. Need a big FMIC, and possibly an exhaust cut out with a 20psi actuator to hold 20psi. and should see around 280rwkws mark.

Rb26 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results
hypergear replied to SLY33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
R34 GTR Stock twins RB26dett stock 2.6L engine Nismo FMIC Trust 3 inches turbo back exhaust PS2000 P98 fuel 272awkws at 16psi. With APR head studs HKS Cam gears +9" inlet, 0 exhaust. R35 GTR coil packs Trigger kit ID 1650cc injectors Twin 540 Walbro pumps+11m fuel line Nismo Front mount cooler T4 high mount exhaust manifold HyperGear 50mm External gate HyperGear ATR45SS1 T4 .86 rear 3 inches front pipe with cutout Final result so far 425awkw @ 28psi E85 fuel -
The NZCAS worked nicely. Stock had fair bit of fluctuation up top. Lexxi32: This version is one size up. The 537rwkws version on the GTT. I think its using about 30kws driving the front diff, it would be sitting around 450rwkws ish on 28psi.
-
Thanks for the tip. Yes I though it might be the case, so I've added a cut out on the front pipe. Highly recommended for power hunting.

Some more results to share, R34 GTR test and tune, I've had this cars in storage for awhile, if you did spent 250K for a fully unmolested stock one today you will be horribly disappointed with its performance. Stock twins with upgraded cooler, exhaust, and intake managed to pull 238awkws at 15psi, with help of a PS2000 it managed 272awkws @ 17psi, Not fast at all. after getting chopped by a Supercharged TRD Camry, I've decided to do some work to it. And I still believe Rb25dets/Neo are way better engines. Looking into further developments in T4 printed turbos. First up is a ball bearing ATR45SS-1 turbocharger in a custom T4 .86 Vband rear housing. Stock Rb26 engine is now fitted with: APR head studs HKS Cam gears +9" inlet, 0 exhaust. R35 GTR coil packs CAS Trigger kit Haltec PS2000 ECU ID 1650cc injectors Twin 540 Walbro pumps+11m fuel line Nismo Front mount cooler T4 high mount exhaust manifold HyperGear 50mm External gate HyperGear ATR45SS1 T4 .86 rear 3 inches Trust turbo back exhaust Final result so far 425kw on all 4 wheels @ 28psi E85 fuel Tuned at Chequered tuning Will be testing few different turbo combinations and spend more time with cam adjustments for better response.
-
Hi Blakeo, That will be a similar engine build as my R34GTT. Recommended would be an ATR45SS-1 BB in .63 rear housing in T3 Vband out let. This turbo have managed to pull 520rwkws with stock cams on E85 fuel and making almost 300rwkws by 4000RPM.
-
Those are generic housings I use them as well, works fine. CHRA units and housing machine works I perform in house.
-
Pretty cool result to share. ATR43SS-2 BB on a Rb25de+T Neo cracking 390rwkws on E85 fuel on KeepRite drifting machine. Tuned at Dr.Drift.
-
No. it had performance springs valve springs. You can also use Supertech valve springs. Both worked fine.
-
For 400~450HP mark on P98 fuel I recommend our externally gated ATR43SS2 in .63 rear housing T3 Vband. I can supply external gate exhaust manifold and turbo smart gate assembly with screamer with the turbocharger if needed.

Oil is coming from under the flared fitting through the thread, so type on the thread of the fitting not the base of the flare and that should work.
-
Rub few rounds of thread type on the fitting thread. that should stop the leak.
