The SS2.5 high flow is installed. I guess not one would go through that much trouble to high mount a factory turbocharger. I've made a Vband adaptor that suits factory 6 bolt turbine housing: every thing fitted as usual: I only run it to 15psi, and it is super responsive. very close to a stock turbocharger. Which is a bad news if I'm chasing towards 350rwkws. The comp housing might be small for this comp wheel also as it does dose back loudly on very little revs like how some of the VL boys wanted. I think this turbocharger will be maxing out towards the 320rwkws mark. Hopefully all goes well on the dyno.

I specifically made mine to stand big higher egt by increase the thickness of the blade tip. This one is not from high egt, notice where the based of the wheel is all bent back wards (that is a very hard material), the damage on all blades are evenly. as well as the big dint at the particular spot of the heat shield. Burnt blades remains straight. I'm pretty concert about where this piece of object came from. It will damage the new turbocharger if where ever it might be loosing another part. and repairing the G3 roller bearing core will be very costly.
-
Some thing went through that exhaust housing. Note the dint it left on the heat shield.

That BB SS2.5 has a larger turbine, that is only good for high flowing use. getting it back on the dyno Monday. The prototype SS2 had a different set of blades, making minor changes to boost ramp behavior.
-
If its off the car you can send it back to me for a update. The main difference in the SS2 would be the Type B rear housing and compressor housing.

Stock engine is ok for sub 18psi with a good tune and supporting mods. Turbo probably no more then 10psi

No no not free. I will return them to you after testing. Or I will pay for them if I wish to keep them. -

I need to build a huge turbo to do that. Aiming for 500rwkws this time ? I've had a set of those not in your brand. and they only lasted two dyno pulls on about 18psi of boost. My car is a built test rig, I test all sort of turbos on it and gets dynoed ever week. The level of testing is far more serious then some one looking for abit of extra power or whom ever initially trailed yours. I now us split fires, they gets 30psi through them occasionally and they are pretty good, so if I trail yours and they work then you know they are as good as some branded items, and I'll be happy to pay for them and use it on my daily R33. If they fail then you know more R&D is required so hopefully you can come up with a better product in near future. -
This is a VS run of the SS2 Prototype against our latest SL20.5G (TD06SL220G with billet SS2 comp). identical response with 28KW more top end Blue is SS2 Prototype Rest is SL20.5G

I'm up for a set if they are good quality. I'll be happy to test a set for you if you any samples. -
Standard high flow is $880 and oil line is $80 additional. To me the SS2.5 BB high flow probably has more value then whom ever charging 2G for a high flow. I like to trail it first. Unfortunately we run out of time today and managed to trail a newer prototype SS2 that I've been building. ended up picking slight more response and ended up with identical power level. And VS the current SS2 (note the current SS2 run more boost resulting bit more power mid range): Very slightly advanced in response. This prototype is has the identical response as a SL20.5G.

A beautify piece of turbinetry. This is a new high flow profile for a standard R33 turbocharger. The goal to build a high flowed turbocharger in stock housings that can produce power as far as the supporting mods can take based on a standard engine with factory cams. I'll be trailing it on my high mount setup and hopping for 350rwkws on E85. I like to add. Use a large CHRA into small housings would affect turbocharger's throttle and transition response. Which is why few of our latest turbochargers has been upgraded with larger housings. In this particular build, I've used SS2's billet compressor wheel and roller bearing core, in hopping to smooth its power delivery behavior, making it a good every day turbocharger.

I believe yours is other way round, some thing similar to a 3576. So a large turbine wheel with a med frame comp in a small turbine housing. The large inducer and exducer of the big turbine wheel will compensate for the small housing.
-
Same turbine. 40 stands for 82mm comp wheel. There will be a bit of differences in response and I personally believe the 82mm comp wheel is too larger for the 60mm turbine, specially in a .63 rear. will make turbine end super hot.

What Rb25 Pistons Are These Forged Or Standard?
hypergear replied to toy515's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Looks like forged and over sized. -
Once the turbo's pulled apart and putting back together, do make a note that the the oil feeding port points to the 2nd turbine bracket bolt after the manifold flange clock wise. After that is done the rest lines up. Result from another SS2 based on an high mount manifold with external gate. Unfortunately this engine span a bearing before the dyno day, and it was tuned to 14psi on gate pressure with timing reduction keeping it safe. Still made 310rwkws: This is a bit of video uploaded by our partly sponsored drifter (blue car), running our std R33 high flowed turbocharger with Toshi's tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37vHdJfMCSI

Tr30R Pics And Details You Don't Often See .
hypergear replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
A turbo contain two wheels and two housings. I'm interested to see a dyno reading of this TR30R turbocharger on its full potential out of a Rb25det. Will be an challenging project to DIY a turbocharger that matches its response and power delivery curve. -
I think the SS1PU is abit small for the Stagea as the engine is tolling a much heavier car. I think the billet SS2 or the roller bearing G3 would be a perfect turbocharger for this vehicle if it has to be a brand new turbocharger. Alternatively highflowing standard OP6 turbocharger is also a good option.

Rb25 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results
hypergear replied to Nacho Vidal's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Also ATR45 AKA ATR43G4 turbocharger on same car using same mods making 431rwkws @ 26psi. Not a responsive turbo, but super strong mid top end power and torque. This turbo should be able to pull some reasonable quarter times. Dyno sheet: Tuning video: -
Ok. as already been posted in the 400rwkws group, I've also trailed the ball bearing ATR45, or also called the ATR43 G4 profile for the Rb bolton series. This turbocharger is not responsive but ended up making 431rwkws @ 26psi. Pretty scary, foot down in 3rd and 4th, feels like the incoming air resistance is about to tear the whole car apart. It jumps from 120km/h to some where around 210km/h (stock cluster) in a blink of an eye. The RSR tyres held pretty wheel with a little wheel spin in 3rd and held all the way through 4th. mid top torque is crazy. I think this turbo can pull some series quarter mile times. Top Mount / Mid Mount Manifold With Stock Turbo.
hypergear replied to reeceo21's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The dump pipe plus cooler piping and all lines has to be changed once switched to a high mount manifold as every thing attached to the turbocharger will be sitting upside down. Probably want to get that turbo high flowed or get aftermarket power upgrade options if you are going that direction. -
