  1. Its been a while since this turbocharger has been developed is any one with a SR20det interested of trailing? The evaluation price on it is $750, and I will refund $100 once receiving your dyno reading so it will cost only $650. I would prefer a SR20det with injectors, pon cams other supporting mods in Melbourne. PM if interested
  2. What sort of cooler are you running? on stock induction pipe and air box? Mine was in average of 35~40 degrees, depending on how hot the day is. Also if a restriction cause the turbocharger working hard then it can also make it hot.
  3. Its always the lower turbos that has issues on the GTRs. mainly because there isn't enough room left for the drain. See if the turbo has abnormal amount of shaft play, if not check and make sure drain pipe is kinked, blocked or siliconed all over. If its been like that for a while and you've been driving it then it will need new seals.
  4. Well its pretty certain that this turbocharger it self is capable of making around 310rwkws peek on a Rb25det P98. Have a look into the index page there are couple of P98 results used as a stockie boltons. All results from test car are with aftermarket manifold or fully ported stock manifold. This is 259rwkws out of a Auto, add 20kws auto transition lose, so this should be just under 280rwkws in manual stock manifold but external gated from turbine housings (orange and blue lines): And this is with a cheap $200 SS manifold: In conclusion assume you have good mods, using this turbocharger as a standard replacement on factory manifold internally gated, the maximum you will get is 280rwkws, it will get around 270rwkws fairly easy, from 270 and on wards will be a challenge. Happens to all other G2.5, G3 and G4 regardless of how big the turbo is they all stops around 280rwkws with 18psi of boost. Their true potential unleashes once high mounted externally gated with a proper tune and good supporting mods. To alter a PU high flow to a SS2, pretty much every thing is re-usable except a comp housing and a back plate. Cost will be roughly $400, from memory you are already making 280rwkws out of the high flow, it won't be making any more power, but will get your better mid range. Or high mount your high flow with a Brae manifold with a 50mm gate and bit of jungle juice, you will be hitting 350rwkws+ Other thing I need to mention is by increase the ID of stock exhaust manifold log didn't gain as much power as I've expected, and that is with a 45mm ID pipe. I'm going to try 60mm ID next and hopefully it can match the performance as my Brae side mount.
  5. This is In relation to some of you whom has boost drop issues. Lot of that has some thing to do with how free flow your exhaust is. This is a reading of mine with a quite exhaust and cat, VS exhaust and cat dropped out from the front pipe: Red = exhaust and cat on Blow = exhaust and cat dropped from front pipe Note the dropped exhaust is slightly faster in down low response with 1.2 psi less of a boost drop. Can't remember whom it was, for the member whom had a G3 with 7psi boost drop, when hitting the dyno next, do a run with exhaust dropped and see if that fixes your problem.
  6. Will cost $400, more then buying those ebay manifolds, my workers don't accept $10 / Day labor. I find abit strange about people wishing to run like 12psi on low boost and 20psi on high boost. The car obviously don't comes to boost on cruise, and when I hammer it I sort of do expect the full potential of the car specially when people come up for a random drag. It would be like "wait, give me a sec to work out my EBC first." no need for full throttle all times.
  7. This manifold does add in abit of lag to the turbo but one the end it should make some thing like a 20KWs increase based on the same boost level. It looks like the actuator opened too early and not enough travel. I recon just install the 20psi actuator that came with the turbo, it doesn't boost to 20psi unless you step on it, boost control with your foot.
  8. Its not bad result for 15psi. With the Kando's actuators the casing appears to be thick at where it bolts onto the bracket, it has lot less travel compare to a normal actuator means it won't open the wastegate very far. Its not a bad thing if you are trying to hold 20psi with a EBC, but won't be very effective for low boost.
  9. I think I've done enough for standard high flows, The best you can get would be a SS2 core in stock housings, while we can run G4 turbine wheel that would probably make into the 280rwkws mark for the 21U / OP6 turbine housings. I'm currently working on SS1PU turbocharger for external gate Vband. will post photos as its been developed. Also I will be starting our face book blog which I will load in my turbo build as well as car modification with as much information as possible. I should've done 10 years ago lol. 10. between a 100 cell and de-cat, the difference is 10kws at 360rwkws. On the same time it also depending on the quality of cat, as I also had a 100 cell cat which I punched out that made 120rwkws difference.
  11. That older None FNT G3 should produces similar power as the SS2 once put on an proper manifold with external gate, won't be as responsive or have as much mid range. but I can always add the the FNT nozzle later to make some differences. The current 58T G3 would make towards the 380rwkws mark with E85 on the same setup. The beauty of a high powered stock bolton turbo is they makes the differences once freed from OEM restrictions. The turbos are engineered to adapted on different types of assemblies, so they can be altered to suit OEM IWG, Vband IWG and EXG very easily. This is my result using the .63 G3 turbocharger with Brae's side mount manifold but internally gated pump 98, But if its going to be on stock manifold I would strongly recommend a .82 turbine.:
  12. 93 model R33 GTST Forgied CP pistons, valve springs and stock every thing else. 800cc injectors 600x300x75mm Front mounted cooler Brae High mount exhaust manifold HPVA 50mm external gate Xforce 3inch Cat back exhaust 100 Cell Cat Profect B electric boost controller ATR43SS2 .70 comp externall gated 4inch intake pipe Adaptronic Plugin The SS2 maxed out touch under 360rwkws (359.3rwkws) on 22psi of boost. Boost: its surprising of how much power and torque it picked up comparing to when its internally gated and fitted to a ported stock exhaust manifold. Yellow / (pink due to no ink) is SS2 on high mount ext gate plumb back @ 22psi Red is SS2 on ported stock manifold @ 22psi Blue is SS2 on high mount ext gate plumb back @ 20psi Also introducing Drift Havoc's R33 with unopened Rb25det engine running the same turbocharger similar setup and same fuel. Build up blog is linked below, Very good example for modifiers.
  13. Technically assume the exhaust end can match the flow of the compressor it will produce the same power. I think the SS1PU can possibly produce around 340rwkws on my high mount setup. We've tried 25~26psi it didn't make many more power and started to surge. So 22psi is about the sweet spot for this turbo. Other thing to mention is how much power and torque it picked up comparing to when its internally gated and fitted to a ported stock exhaust manifold. Yellow / (pink due to no ink) is SS2 on high mount ext gate plumb back @ 22psi Red is SS2 on ported stock manifold @ 22psi Blue is SS2 on high mount ext gate plumb back @ 20psi
  14. Auto, This is a customer whom bought and installed a bolton ATR43G4 in .82 turbine. This turbo is equivalent to a 3582. The auto had a shift kit put in it and made 392rwhp @17psi on pump 98 lol. but bit laggy to drive.
  15. Yes all on E85. Below is Drift havoc's R33 build (abe2), its pretty interesting to have a read at, I've linked it to his facebook blog. That is an unopened Rb25det motor. made 350rwkws using the same SS2 .70 comped turbocharger as mine with his hand made high mount manifold using a turbosmart gate. That car also has a plazamaman inlet manifold with 2x 4inches induction pipe (lol).
  16. Yes it does. I will sms you for instructions if I can't turn that off my self. Car drives really good and solid. Thanks for Great work.
  17. Finally had the .70 SS2 Tune on the high mount with plumb back external gate. The SS2 maxed out touch under 360rwkws (359.3rwkws) on 22psi of boost. 30kws gain over the side mount internal gate setup. Boost: This turbo probably had the most area under curve in its HP range, felt excellent on road.
  18. It means its a soft 7psi actuator. and if its doing 10psi means its well doing whats its made to do. I have 20psi actuator that are direct bolton for this turbocharger. PM if interested of killing it faster.
  19. You mean porting from Stock GTR manifolds: To: will kill response. for around 300rwkws you might want to keep them stock.
  20. There should be around 30thou clearance which is just under a mm, you can't get 1.5mm as it would be scrapping housings. pressurized oil centers the shaft once engine starts, so as long as its running and boosting then its all normal.
  21. Ok here are some results using the cheap side mount V stock manifold V local hand made manifold. Pink is ported stock manifold, Been the most responsive, but lowest in power evening using more boost. Solid Red is the cheap side mount. the laggiest and required bit of work for it to fit properly. Power isn't bad. Thin red is local hand made side mount, slightly laggier then stock while making the most power on least amount of boost. For a budget its worth its money. I would still go for a proper side mount.
  22. Have a feel on the turbo shaft and see if there are noticeable play, also double check and make sure the drain pipe is not bent or kinked.
  23. The R33 highflowed turbos would support up to 240rwkws while R34 turbochargers can be high flowed to support 260rwkws. response wise high flowed R33 turbo is about 300RPMs earlier. Personaly I prefer to run a highflowed R34 turbo
  24. How ever during the time your car had missfiring and AFM issues plus other problems, the turbo was used as a stocker bolton with stock exhaust manifold internally gated at 16psi, 270rwkws at the time by hyperdrive was more then reasonable. The 58T 3576 in.82 stopped making power at 335rwkws on pump98 with 25psi of boost on my Rb25det, I don't think your car would be far off to it with every thing in working order at similar boost level. The SL2-25G has a much smaller turbine in comparison so it will have better power band downlow, how ever will definitly not make better power used on your old setup.
