  1. Just found out I am in Tokyo during the Auto Salon. Seems I am lucky with these things, last year I was randomly there by chance during Nismo festival. Planning to go. No need to pre-purchase tickets is there? Not entirely sure of our exact plans yet (in Tokyo 13th, 14th and 15th) so should make it at some stage. Interesting to see what elrodeo666 was saying about food. Its a still a little concern. Any particular foods in particular to be cautious of?
  2. If for whatever reason the multiple people ahead of me on the list don't happen i'll put my hand up as well. Would like to get the fwd rig out (as frustrating as it may be) to compare to the old r33, not to mention see how it handles on the limit.
  3. My skyline is gone so I am trying to clear out my garage. Have a few freebies if anyone wants to pay postage or pickup. 1. Standard R33 rear reo bar. Bit big to post so it might be a pick up only. 2. Standard R33 intercooler. Some piping but I already chucked most of it. 3. A double din kenwood cd/md player, 'jap spec' so all the radio stations don't work. Located in Maryborough. If nobody wants anything I'll do a dump run this weekend. (Also got a set of 14" honda steelies with tyres, same price as above).
  4. Yeah if i were cashed up i would seriously consider it. However its a tight market, heaps of other drives schools out there. Probably not good for someone who has never driven qld raceway before as well! 400kw's is a lot under the foot and the last thing they need to is to be is in a quick car with few skills and slower cars on the track.
  5. Deposit taken, I guess that means its sold!
  6. No worries. Ill be moving it to brisbane this weekend and leaving it there. RWC passed through without a drama.
  7. If its not still for sale, I have one as well
  8. Thanks, now to find a buyer At the time it was a choice of putting a towbar on it or selling it. Towbar won out. Its not too bad though, most people dont notice its there.
  9. New pics, price and location. Now $11 000. Location will be brisbane south side from this weekend. Just got new tint and some new rear tyres fitted.
  10. On another forum im on someone reckons it was a ralliart colt not a swift. Still slow though (i should know..).
  11. Hey anyone have a work led light strip for a series 2 wing. Don't know if series 1 is the same but i doubt it. Willing to pay appropriately as i know it makes the rest of the wing pretty much valueless if seperating. Thanks, Tim.
  12. Just another query if you have the spoiler led, give me a price. I know it makes the rest of the spoiler a bit pointless for anyone else but im willing to pay appropriately.
  13. Nah I lived up there and did a whole season. We 'built' the crappy matt black t18 that has been kicking around for a few years now. Started a 51 and got it down to a 48 before we sold it off. Would like to come back for a once off in something quicker one day!
  14. Yeah back to uni in the next year or two so its time for something nice new with warranty and low running costs. Thats arrives tomorrow actually. Was hoping to get another skid pan day in before it went but no luck (although at the rate of interest I might just book in for next year ) Im off overseas next week so I'll get serious about it when I get back.
  15. Better than my 48.2 best up there
  16. You still working for QML? Think i need to move across with you getting 6 MPS on a scientist wage
  17. Nah not really. Its going so im not too interested in doing much to it. I think the skirts are non-standard anyway I believe.
  18. Item: 95 R33 Gts25t. Series 1.5 turbo manual. Location: Maryborough. May deliver to BNE by arrangement. Reason for Selling: Turning 2 cars into 1. Description: 95 R33 Gts25t manual. The car is general in good condition and lightly modified. It is being sold to make way for a brand new car which I will share with the partner. No need for 2 cars, im really not driving the one I have got. The R33 has travelled 600km since february! Details: . Essentially standard and unmolested R33 Gts25t. Looked after and only really driven highway km's since I have had it. Currently 118 000km, was high 80's when I bought it 2 1/4 years ago. I am the first Australian owner. Car has been regularly serviced and well maintained. Timing belt, water pump, timing belt idler and tensioner, cam and crank seals and all accessory belts replaced at 110 000km. It has given me no trouble in the time I have had it at all. Standard features The car has all working standard features including; Power windows Power mirrors Power antenna Climate control works fine and is very cold Factory drivers airbag Factory ABS Factory Floor mats Modifications Lightly modified including -HKS super drager 3.5" cat back, not ridiculously loud and gives a good note. -Lowered springs, believed to be cusco progressive from the sticker under the bonnet, give a good drop but not too firm a ride -ARC R33 replacement side mount intercooler. -Pioneer CD/MP3 head unit, 3 months old. 6.5" pioneer splits in front -Front strut brace -Nismo grill of some variety -17" rims fitted with 235's front, 245's rear. The car has never had the boost adjusted and still runs standard boost. The car also has an s14 towbar fitted, this is quite a neat install with wiring hidden in the boot. I have towed a kart trailer with this car on a regular basis. It tows well and is quite useful for moving light loads such as kart or bike trailers. It is not pictured but I can supply. I have the standard reinforcement bar if the towbar is not required. The only flaw with the car is a scratch on the front left guard (not pictured) and a few a stone chips on the bonnet and front bar. It is probably one of the more tidy r33's getting around. The steering wheel and gear surround has usual wear for age. The scratch may be fixed by negotiation prior to sale. Price and Payment Conditions: $12 000, RWC will be provided. Contact Details: Tim, 0409 593 617 email [email protected] or PM.

  20. Thats funny, because i see the complete opposite. I own an r33 gtst and really consider it quite dull and without personality. I just find its mediocre at everything. Its just a well put together car that does anything. My last car was a tx5 turbo and don't laugh, but it was a much more fun car to own. It was about as quick as the r33 but was a different drive all together, it just felt angry, torque steering and carrying on all over the place. The consistant wheel spin just about anywhere was also funny. Maybe its rose coloured glasses on my part i dont know. Don't get my wrong, the r33 is a better car, i just don't have any real 'feeling' for the thing.
  21. Anyone had any experience with famous car insurance? Im due for renewal on my r33 gts25t and its coming down to: 1. Just cars $950 upfront or $1200 pay by the month, crash/damage excess $1900, theft excess $2900! Thats nearly $4000 i will pay them in a year if my $12 000 car gets stolen, bit rich. 2. Famous car insurance, $1150 pay by the month total, $500 acco excess, no additional theft. 3. Shannons - $1250 pay by the month, dunno about excesses but they do have glass cover in there too e.g. a free windscreen/year. Im thinking of being cheap and taking the pay by the month option only because im heading over seas soon and the cash in the pocket would be very handy in the immediate future.
  22. Ignore ACA and TT for the rubbish it is. Its just a shame the mob population don't have sufficient individual thought processes to not believe what the tv tells them.
  23. Yeah its an old trick. The plates of the car aren't going to help you either as its likely they have flogged the images from elsewhere on the internet.
  24. Yeah i get the feeling I might end up doing it myself as well. Not happy either way. Wasnt either a performance shop, just a regular certified mechanic, would have thought they would do enough timing belts on various things for it to be a drop in the ocean. I guess it could have gone unseen if i didn't check it myself though.
  25. Which then returns to the question of why dont the timing marks line up and why was it pinging its ring off with the CAS in the original position they just bolted it back onto. Im not sure about the doubling deal, but i think thats a discussion for another time. At 30 degrees (on double theory 15 degrees) i couldnt climb a slightly incline at 100 with it pinging significantly!
