  1. 106mph on the last time out. should be a bit higher now considering I only had 4500rpm of useable rev range (it made 235rwhp at that rpm tho' even with afr in the 9's).
  2. yes it will effect the harmonics of the crank, in much the same way as the flywheel does.It will be greatly offset in magnitude due to the great reduction in inertia hence the vibrational force is far less significant. There seems to be two schools of thought on the harmonic balancer issure, one is to increase the dampening through the front pulley and thus increase the weight of the pulley. And the other is to lighten it dramatically to reduce the magnitude of force any vibration may have, both systems also rely on reducing the diameter of the front pulley in both cases reducing the 'outer' rotational mass and hence reducing the inertia. The factory harmonic balancer on the RB26dett was found to produce a harmonic imbalance under extreeme racing conditions when it was in group A racing. They had to change the balancer for a custom made unit to fix engine failure problems. Having said that, there are many present day R32's in circuit racing who have not changed those same factory balancers resposible for the group A dramas. The V configuration engines suffer from harmonic issues to a greater extent and even the VG30's can be run safely with light weight front pulleys from what I have heard. I'd put a light weight front pulley on without batting an eyelid. Having done so to quite a few engines thus far without issue.
  3. The RX8 is a pretend sports car, My mate imports the Series 8 RX7's , the RX7 won the bathurst 12hr 4 times in a row, it's a real nice car to drive. In fact there is a 2001 Bathurst edition Series 8 , with only 740kms on it for a bit under $80k.
  4. The goal is to get 4 kilo's off the whole pulley setup I reckon. T0nyGTSt, can you weigh the front pulley mate?
  5. a pic. stock car wow:rolleyes: goes quick tho':D
  6. if anyone has a couple of RB25 pulleys lying around doing nothing then maybe it's worth dropping them down at rotormotion.
  7. a ram sam sam..
  8. Similar to mine except it's $4,000 slower (joke)
  9. push the little lever 'down' once.
  10. rotormotion; 50 james , Guilford, W.A phone : 08 9378 2666 Someone want to chase them up? I'm too busy.
  11. Even cheaper now for a quick sale, looks like I stand to make more tax time dollars next year if I lose a bit on the car sale so $17k it is , minus the NOS kit ( I'll sell it sepparately since no one seems to want a gtst with NOS --- what a sad state I live in ) 1995 '12 second' R33 GTST 'sleeper' with NOS (Perth W.A) Well it's that time of the year.. Time to sell the car and get a new one, for tax reasons as it is a work vehicle. Totally stock looking manual 'silver' gtst with factory rims. A blank canvas to customise or leave as is to avoid unwanted attention. CONDITION: 102,000kms regular servicing including transmission and diff. Presently the car has a crease in the rear bumper and a few minor scratches, which will cost about $500-600 to clean up properly and the price reflects this. Interior is good. and it has a factory 7disc CD stacker/tuner and drivers airbag. MODS. * K&N Airfilter and modified airbox * HKS exhaust cam gear * Ogura Racing Chrome Molly flywheel * 9 puck ceramic compound clutch * FGK Super Ti cat back exhaust (very quiet and flows well) * Custom Stainless steel turbo dump pipe and front pipe, with thermal wrapping. * Apexi Super AFC II and sought after 95' ecu * Peltier cooler on standard intercooler. * Whiteline KCA349 diff cradle kit. * Bosch Motorsport in tank fuel pump * NOS EFI Nitrous kit (hidden underbonet) with 10lb bottle and 50hp jet. New nitrous solenoid. The last outing saw the car run 13.3 and has since had a major tuning issue resolved which will has it making easy 12 second power. With larger decent rear tyres fitted 12's will not be a problem without NOS. The NOS activation offers the potential for low 12's and with the simple fittment of the 100hp jet an 11second pass.
  12. mines down to $17k now. So there ya go
  13. No, actually you need to worry about the fact that the compliancing is completely changed, they used to accept compliance evidence from just about anyone and most of the time just rubber stamp things and issue plates. Vehilces under this new system will be looked at a lot harder. The Laws on15yr vehicles may well be changed before 2004, meaning that 89' car you paid to import won't ever be seen here. BTW, legislation of this kind can be changed very quickly if there is no real opposition to it. Like I said before pay up-front only if your a gambler.Political ignorance is not your friend.
  14. Rotormotion in Perth western australia can make up custom alloy pulleys. I've had a few made a number of years back for rotories. It's the same process for any engine pulley really.
  15. My source is from the politcal/legislative side of things, the transport dept find out last, ask your friend he'll tell you how the politicians are wankers for giving info in on time. There is a decent lobby to change the legislation comming from within the industry with some assurances already given to them on the change. IF you don't want the laws changed then write to federal minister for transport (seriously do this they do take notice).
  16. You can drop a few kilos off the weight of the pulleys if made from alloy. The under driven pulleys reduce some accessory horsepower drain and importantly reduce high rpm water pump cavitation above 7,000rpm. Dropping as much as 4 kilo's off the front pulley rotational mass will give a gain similar to lightening the car 200kgs in the first gear. This is the same priciple for the flywheel. The difference is large enough on a road car, good for spooling the turbo faster ,as the engine will rev quicker due to reduced inertia. An excellent mod, overlook it if your a 'bolt on' boy, or if the engine harmonics don't agree. The RB25det ought to be fine. I'd say the trust pulleys could be 'made' to fit.
  17. never heard of anyone who's tried both nitto 555R's and BFG say the nitto's are better. I think Mario recently switched to BFG's over the nitto's and is quite pleased in the improvement.

  19. nah, I'm still here, just doing some work. The compression test is easy enough, be happy to do that for the prospective buyer on the spot. I may rip the NOS kit off and keep it for the next car. Stagea with NOS kit sounds good. At least I'll not have traction problems. I'm off to a client visit now. Foogle.
  20. Yep, you can bet a few $$$ on that one being changed, it is right at this moment. Hope no one has bought anything in Japan, that is unless you like to gamble. Why not wait till next year anyway to get your car and be safe?
  21. no takers on the car so far. In the sunday times again this week. Might try the auto trader. Someone suggested to take the Nitrous kit off, because people are turned off by it perhaps? Sad state we live in when people are turned off by 400+hp at the tyres
  22. I'm feeling like the hunch back of notredam, #$%@ cars! I was working on the Volvo all sat afternoon and all sunday. And the back is not real happy (yet another excuse to avoid the gym ).
  23. Howzit.
