  1. If you had a 4.8kg flywheel , your launch would reflect a 200kg weight loss equivelent in first gear. The silvias don't usually get past me in first.
  2. I wish you good luck on the whale hunting, your going to need it.
  3. Zex are crap. leave them alone. Poofter purple bottle and all. Get the kit the professionals use. In Oz it's not a bad move to get the Ozrace kit, then BOC can fill the bottle. I'm using a NOS kit , that is a little modified with my own choice of custom parts.
  4. ran mine at 19spi left and 14.5psi right, last time (13.3 & 2.3 60ft). I completely stuffed it up when I let them down. Normally I run 19psi in both I just misjudged. 12psi is too low for a street radial. A bit low for a slick as well.
  5. R32 GTR with an exhaust and the boost restrictor pulled off gets mid 12's on a tired engine, if you can drive.
  6. The heat range for the stock turbo is 6's or 7's. Gap 6's to 0.7mm or the 7's to 0.9mm. It's easy to check if its leaking, because you will be able to hear an air leak at idle from there. Under boost the 'leak' is if the boost doesn't hold from early on in the peice. I reckon it's probably not leaking tho'. If the motor is in good tune I'm sure you will do a 12 sometime. What has the car done so far?
  7. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...9316#post479316 go here to see another 12 second pass by a standard turbo R33. GO the whales!
  8. good stuff! Excellent work on the standard turbo too. The 60ft times are real good for road tyres. Gezz 1.9, I could only dream of doing that time on the 205's , would give me an easy 12.8 if I could get that. Post up the time slips when you can we need more evidence that the R33's aren't just big whales.
  9. R32-GTS , had his doing a low 13 with the stock turbo, ecu remap, fmic etc. give him a PM to find out more.
  10. My R33 is an exeption to the rule, however there are plenty of S13's that are just as quick all the same.
  11. driving one is the only way. Consider that with 11 second potential an R32 GTR with 2530 turbos can race around a track and provide a great responsive daily driver. If you drive a GTR with these turbo's you will never go back.
  12. The series 2's are newer of course and easier to find with options on them like ABS and dual airbags. However the 95 model released just previous to them has the same options available. The series 2 is a slower car than the 95 by all accounts due to the later ecu map being more environmentally friendly I guess. The quickest standard cars at the moment are all 95's I think, running standard turbo's and ecu's. If I had to get another R33 I'd get the 95 again for sure.
  13. afraid it's been raining every sunday since the drags started up again. And I'm selling the car too which makes it tricky. Then again if the car don't sell soon it will find it's way to the drags for a couple more runs
  14. The present jetting and fuel pressure equate to around 120+ hp at the tyres extra. Add that to about 280 already.
  15. autolite plugs are better than NGK I've found
  16. My mates family has a RAWS certified workshop and there are very few cars approved under the new system.. For instance the 'stagea' is almost done but still is waiting on emmisions and side impact. Till then no one can sell a stagea till it is nationally certified. Every car over the 15yr mark has to be independantly re-assed even though they are listed. I noticed the R33 is done tho'.
  17. the new RAWS system might have a loop hole or two but, given most workshops have forked out heaps of $$$ I doubt they would try and test them for 'one off' sales. Make sure the RAWS workshop is all 'ok' about compliancing the car you pick and get the price set in stone from them because it's nothing like the old system.
  18. which RAWS workshop has agreed to do the compliancing for you? Has the R33 passed RAWS certification yet? (ie: emmisions and side impact etc). How much is the worshop going to charge?
  19. Jason, It's been my work car for almost 3 years (reason for sale is tax man related). The maintence is regular and includes the gearbox and diff regularly, unlike most. It's been to the drags 3 times in it's life. I'd love to take it for a 4th and borrow some street strip tyres for a few 11 second passes with the NOS kit. However the new owner will I'm sure. I think if you do a search on my posts and threads both here and the performance section you will get an idea of the attitude I have towards the car. Also quite a few people on the W.A section know of me and my car. The worst thing you'll here is that I'm not after maintaining appearence , mechanicals are a different kettle of fish. go here to continue looking at it. If your curious I can arrange a drive (without NOS ) so you can benchmark what a 'good' skyline should drive like, even if you don't want mine you will be able to measure others. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...7543#post477543
  20. 400hp at the wheels is what I've got now with the NOS kit.
  21. The Kit is in! The solenoids are right up next to the 'fogger' to make the hit quicker. Scary stuff!
  22. I'll come down too if the car doesn't get sold. The new Nitrous jets are scary!!!
  23. .8mm gap will probably fix it on the existing plugs. The 7's will work too. Use R's (resistor type) if not racing around all the time. Copper plugs will do, the platinum or iridiums are just 'self cleaning'.
  24. jason, can buy mine if you like , it's totally stock 95' (last of the series 1). With the spare coin you save you can make it 'look' the way you want , including a series 2 front if that floats your boat and it will be fast, unlike the series 2's around. Good series 2's go for around $26K+. or you can keep it as a 'sleeper', with the 11 second potential.
  25. I got 3 kids, little ones. I saw that episode and thought it was as deep as flea's spit., just good for a laugh. The reality is that we (parents) have a bit of a chuckle at some of our kids exploits just like I had a laugh at the show.
