having said that 90% of gtst's run poorly matched mods and are slugs lucky to get low 14's.

For an STi WRx to get past me it has to have alot more $$ spent than I have. For one it needs an aftermarket turbo upgrade, intercooler and ECU. Then it may beat me.

Emissions tests. Although not the norm in WA compliancing it is planned already I believe. Again thats why there was a big outcry. We are told we are the 'winners' because the standard of car coming in will be superior and there are more models to choose from. However, the cars will be more expensive and getting the funky new models requires a very long time to go by and hope that you local RAWS workshop even wants to bring the model you like in. We are all losing on this one. Bastard local car manufacturers!

Spot on. A mate of mine is part of the family that run Cannington auto wholesale, I've been catching up on the whole RAW's thing for a long time and so far there aren't many cars on the list at all. They all have to be passed. The JZX100 chaser is being done as is the stagea, you would not believe how long it takes for each car to be certified. He's had the stagea for almost 2 years getting approved. Each car has to pass a side impact (scratch one perfectly good car!) and emmissions etc. To get on the list. Even then (like the Rx7) the workshop may have to improve the factory system to pass emissions meaning that other workshops may not be able to import the same vehicle unless they develop the same system. This is why there was such an outcry. My bet is no RAWS workshop is going to be interested in supplying 'customer picked' cars from japan given the extra scrutiny applied to each vehicle. If you think it's just a case of removing the mods then think again. I would be asking the RAWS workshop for an answer directly. The answer I've been given (and I'm a mate) is NO.

E = energy (we all know that one) C = the speed of light (assumed to be a constant once but isn't) M = the Mass defect (subtract the 'lost' positron/electron mass from the specific nuclear reaction from memory). Conservation of energy applies to this equation still. -
oh and the skyline has to be 'dead stock'. Absolutely no mods are permitted at all.

Geoff can import them for sure, I check his stock out daily. He has to get a RAWS certified and quality assured workshop to pass the compliance however. The only one in W.A is Cannington Auto Wholesale. So basically as I understand it none of the RAWs certified dealers are interested in certification of 'outside' dealers, since the certification is so expensive and legalistic. Perhaps you can get something done in the eastern states then have the car brought over? Why don't you give Geoff an email about the situation and see what the deal is? I think there will be a wait till you can say 'yes' to importing this kind of vehicle through a 3rd party. Other than that a wait till 2004 for 89' vehicles. At the end of the day make sure you can verify with the RAWS certified workshop that the deal is ok before going ahead. Geoff seems like a top bloke and I'm sure he'll look after you.

1995 R33 GTST 'sleeper' with NOS (Perth W.A)

I've got half way through the jet sorting and it looks like I'm going to have a good 120hp or so extra at the tyres. -
I'd love to loan it to you but, it was stolen from our office the other day If I could write it off as a marketing promo I'd be able to bring Indy Car girls but, I don't have enough money left this quarter. Maybe next year?
-
mate if your in perth the only people who can import now are cannington auto wholesale. They are the only ones to have RAWS certification. I'm not sure if the R33 has ben certified yet nationally as well. Any car brought in under the new program must be 'totally stock', no exhaust no filter nothing.

I can reccomend against the upgrade of the standard intercooler on a standard turbo setup. It's value for money sucks. 99% of the gtsts with upgraded intercoolers and standard turbos eat my dust, even with my little 205 tyres and 10psi of boost. If you want to go pretty quick on a budget of say $2k then read the 13.4 second thread, page one. I've spent about $2.5k so far without the NOS (add $500) and that package is good enough for a 12 on reasonable tyres (unlike the ones I presently have).

the loss isn't linear as the frictional forces are not able to be calculated in a linear fashion. -
you can use mine as a 'before' car. Before : untidy and stock. good fuel ecconmy, quiet and fast. After : graphics , stickers , wide rims, spoilers , loud and slow. Autosalon , is that like a drive through hairdresser?

Whats the best mods for a stock R34 GT-T?
rev210 replied to Bill's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
people often give impressions without any real facts. Consider my car can pull low 13's all day, perhaps a 12 shortly. The standard airbox with a K&N restricts nothing. The R34 airbox is a slightly better design I believe so why bother? -
there are actually two kinds of people. One kind are simpletons who try to categorise people into three simple groups. The other kind believes people are more complicated and cheat on maths tests.

the pod filter will do absolutely nothing for power by the way, just so you know that all the work you put into making up the cold air partition won't do a thing for power, just looks and sound. the blow off vlave is fine don't touch it. So is the wastegate (sort of) -

ryan's mph is indicative of an 11 second pass with some good driving. The GTR keeps pulling very hard after 400m, not something the sr20 powerplant is equal to. Any cars performance is hampered by driver inabillity. If a silvia beats a gtr becasue of it then who cares. Visa versa. -

Ryan's best was 12.4 . Several of a similar stockness have been known to pull high 11's. Not unusual for R32 GTR's to achieve this sort of time, in near stock form. Not unusual for R33 GTRs either. You can reasonable expect to lose against a gtr if you have a silvia. If you win then it must feel pretty good but, it doesnt mean you can beat any stockish gtr thereafter. -

Just PM me buddy and I'll get the $$ organised asap. If I haven't sold my car already. -
why not order some BFG drag radials from vpwmailorder.com they are better than the Nittos. and you can place your order today?
-
try ringing the good the bad and the ugly in perth to see where they got theirs. better idea is to use it for drunk adults who you charge money to use it. Then the money can go towards the kids.
-
The mechanical bull is a very dangerous bit of equipment. The underprivlegded kids will end up crippled as well mate. Thats why the mechanical bull is designed only for very drunk adults
