R31 Chick, thats the way everyone should approach the issue. I am sure that Tudor would love to kick on with you for another year or so if given the chance. People will no doubt say you are cruel but, in reality a horse that doesn't think life is worth living anymore will die almost overnight all by itself, this goes for most animals.
-
My pet peave is people who run their dogs off thier leash in public areas. It's a form of cruelty too because their is often more danger to the animal than people understand. One example was a couple of girls walking their golden labradore(without its leash) on a path in a section of reserved bushland. I was walking towards them with a very large german shepard on a leash, I called out to them to put thier dog on it's leash several times and got the response " It's ok he's a very friendly dog" and "he's very well trained he won't bite". I again yelled at them in a course manner to restain their dog which they ignored. I pulled the leash up as short as I could and tried to walk away but, the poor old labradore bounded staright for us. The end result was a rather nasty bite on the neck which crushed the spine and resulted in the labradores later death, it was all over in seconds. These sorts of things occur because people are lazy and selfish,as much as they want their animal to enjoy freedom they neglect to think about the responsibillity they have to protect their animal and other people. The other thing I think sucks is the overuse of people 'mercy killing' animals. I've seen many a pet recover from injuries that vets have said 'you should end its' pain now'. Basically the 'real' suffering is the owner watching the pet slowly die, no animal on the face of the earth except some humans wants to give up the struggle for life no matter how seemingly futile or painfull. The worst part is the decision to opt for the cheaper 'neadle' rather than life saving surgury even if it's just an outside chance.

R31 Chick, Selling to buy another car. Because its a work vehicle you need to get rid of them before 3 years ideally if you claim the maximum depreciation of 27% each financial. I like the car alot, perhaps I'll get another I'm still not sure yet. Have to sell this one anyway.

Power at wheels and flywheel
rev210 replied to Driver's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
put the engine on an engine dyno is the only way to be sure. The rear wheel dyno measures tractive effort and then calculates horespower. Tractive effort is affected by gearing and therefore lower gear runs read higher, this is why 4th gear is preffered. Making the calcualtions of torque and power at the engine introduce further mathematical error range. -
stick an ogura 4.8kg flywheel in. Will help you in the first few gears particularly.
-
the efficiency range on that turbo begins at 1.3bar and goes to 1.7bar from memory.

1995 R33 GTST 'sleeper' with NOS (Perth W.A)
rev210 replied to rev210's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
I'd secretly love to go to the drags again. If I do I'll grab some decent tyres but, I really ought to sell it now because the longer I wait the less depreciation I'll be able to claim on the new car when I get it next tax time. I'm off to go get my new nitrous solenoid and the bottle gassed up. -
I'll buy you and Paul a pretty pink dress each then.
-
ecu doesn't learn the power map, that is static.
-
could be injectors need a clean too. I had a slight lean patch in the middle then a big lean out in one pot.

cheers daniel. maybe I'll buy a wrx....nah! -
rx7 series 8 (I wish)

whats with the horsepower figure on the sig mate? you must have one of those 'special' 16psi factory turbos.
-
I've posted the forsale thing in the right section but, I thought I'd place a thread here so people actually in W.A might get a heads up if they are interested. Also people can payout on me here about the rip-off price I'm asking and things http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=20974

a pic. wow a stock R33 -
Well it's that time of the year.. Time to sell the car and get a new one, for tax reasons as it is a work vehicle. Totally stock looking manual 'silver' gtst with factory rims. A blank canvas to customise or leave as is to avoid unwanted attention. CONDITION: 102,000kms regular servicing including transmission and diff. Presently the car has a crease in the rear bumper and a few minor scratches, which will cost about $500-600 to clean up properly and the price reflects this. Interior is good. and it has a factory 7disc CD stacker/tuner and drivers airbag. MODS. * K&N Airfilter and modified airbox * HKS exhaust cam gear * Ogura Racing Chrome Molly flywheel * 9 puck ceramic compound clutch * FGK Super Ti cat back exhaust (very quiet and flows well) * Custom Stainless steel turbo dump pipe and front pipe, with thermal wrapping. * Apexi Super AFC II and sought after 95' ecu * Peltier cooler on standard intercooler. * Whiteline KCA349 diff cradle kit. * Bosch Motorsport in tank fuel pump * NOS EFI Nitrous kit (hidden underbonet) with 10lb bottle and 50hp jet. New nitrous solenoid. The last outing saw the car run 13.3 and has since had a major tuning issue resolved which will has it making easy 12 second power. With larger decent rear tyres fitted 12's will not be a problem without NOS. The NOS activation offers the potential for low 12's and with the simple fittment of the 100hp jet an 11second pass. Price asking is $21,000 as is. email [email protected] or PM.

the Hi/Low throttle I use is 20% low and 55% high. the low throttle map can do with a few points off around 3000rpm onwards. about -3% at 3000rpm all the way to 5000rpm then -5%. before that 0 adjustment. the high throttle settings I use vary according to the timing both on cam gear exhaust and the base timing. at the moment I run -3% at 2500rpm then up to -5% @ 3500rpm then -7% @ 5500rpm and -6@6500rpm to 7000rpm.
-
the NOS efi kit has a pressure reg with it. I think its about 35-45psi.
-
c'mon it's not totally stock. I think this particular vehicle will beat most stock gtrs on a rolling run.

The Skyline and HP...... debate and comment (PLEASE NO MUD SLINGING)
rev210 replied to IMACUL8's topic in Western Australia
May I suggest that you do the management first and then base the intercooler choice on what sort of turbo and power level you are after. -
same mph as mine last time out. I don't think the 265's are hurting his 60ft much at all. I'd say your looking at a 1.8 60ft with that mph.
-
Nah you'll have to go to the drags one day then we can see what happens. You see, I have one point left and appart from the obvious legality whatever spanking I hand out at the strip is only made worse on a regular (private) road surface.
-
Zanda, The exhaust cam gear works mint. I've played around with mine and extracted some extra zing in the form of a bit of extra torque. It only cost $200.
