  1. this is the target weight an extra 15kg plate added to the 20kg. triceps are used a little off the start (although you 'run' out of the blocks).
  2. This is the warm up weight. Do about 15reps pretty easy. I think the cable weights are about 80kgs, Cause with the 20kg plate on I can hang off the cable ( I weight 90 something kgs).
  3. This is the Tricep push down thing'o. I actually have a goal of 60kgs on the bar for the lying down french press for 10reps( so far I've stopped at 50kgs) but, I have had a few issues with my elbows in the past, so I'm doing these first. The standard cable thingo has never got enough weight on it. Thanks to the little bike rack thing we can add some propper weight on to it. pic of the bike rack.
  4. and up...
  5. Ok here are the un-flattering "I've got bad constipation" look photo's of me doing 9 reps this morning.
  6. I've posted some pics of me looking stupid at the gym in my 'soon to do 10seconds' thread.
  7. This is the hack squat machine with 440kgs (450kgs). Just like the donkey calf machine I do 8 reps in a row, only 1 or two sets required. the front quads are obviously very imortant for sprinting, but before I do any free weight squats I have to stabilise the muscle around the knee with these. I don't want to know my free weight squat goal yet (I hope to hell it isn't 440kgs)
  8. Here is me squating it into place, fargin heavy.
  9. I've reached My first set of Training Goals Yaaay! I have decided to take pictures for my 'scapbook o' failure' (the scrapbook I can drag out to show people how I wasted another year of my life on a silly project) Here are the first pics. A sprinter Must have Powerful Calf Muscles (you run on your toes). This is my target weight on the calf machine 440kgs (the plates are actually 20.5kgs each so I did 450kg really). Look at it. It's a son of a bitch cause you got to squat it out till your legs are straight. pic of the weight.
  10. Got volvo wagon back the other day from auto rebuild. NIce little shift kit and heavy duty clutch pack. Kept the stall the same since fuel ecconomy is improtant tho (So tempted). I have now toasted the new XR6 tubo in it, guy was in total disbelief, great expression I should take my digital camera around with me.
  11. yes the leanout was possibly due to a partially clogged injector, certainly nothing the ecu had anything to do with. The V8 supercars blow engines with some regularity yet no one blames the mega buck ecu's for that.
  12. beat the new BA XR6 turbo in my volvo wagon the other day. Just testing the new trans of course . very close race but sadly(for him) he lost. Loved the look on his face. I might convince the missus to let me take the tank to the drags for a 'real' test (just have to wait till the other skyline boys go down so I can scare them)
  13. The wolf offers closed loop operation out of the box. Means fuel ecconomy is easier to acheive at light throttle. It's also 'plug and play' (no chopping into wires and new harness requirements). Microtech is a good unit. Mat (whatsisname) has one on his car tuned well , he is adelaide.
  14. I put a few kicks in
  15. If the mixtures are 'unknown' and you have missfires, then it's not good to drive it. If the 'rough' tune is a nice safe rich fuel map then it's probably ok, like the mechanic said. If it's just fine tuning that is required further.
  16. NO. Not safe to drive.
  17. one of the haltech units has been know to kill skyline coil packs. It might pay to change the plugs first anyway. Generally when a coil pack fails there is no sufficient spark at any rpm and that shows at low rpm as well.
  18. It sounds to me like the head gasket or a cracked head if the engine is hard to start, turns over a little slowly. Water in the bores means the compression will be significatly raised for cranking. I might suggest that you don't try to drive the car around until you have sorted the issue ,or risk bent rods or bearing issues which will make the whole deal very expensive. If your battery is on the way out (as mine is) every morning the radio will have lost its presets and you will find that the power windows will go slower than a wet weekend. A battery that is not holding it's charge etc is VERY obvious so I would be pointing at head issues. The spark plugs are what I'm reffering to, if you are a newbe then it would be time to have a mechanic look at it alternatively hook up with a local skyline australia forum member or two who is technical and offer a few beers to have a look. I'm sure there are a few guys in your area.
  19. start with a 6 gapped small, move to a 7 with a larger gap if you want to play around. 8's are good for race meets only with a suitable gap of around 1mm or so. I'm running 7's with a larger gap as opposed to a small gapped 6, it is better for power once you have boost and suits my driving style.
  20. car hard to start? Check the entire engine over for any sign of leakage whilst you run the engine from cold till warm. At this time check that the fan is working. If you don't see anything then check your oil for signs of milky-ness. When cool start the engine and run with the cap off.As it warms look for bubbles and signs of fuel contamination. Take out the plugs and check condition for signs of water, (whiteness)
  21. Quite a number of exhaust shops will do mandrel bends for you ,ask around. Press bends will work, just not as well. But if it's just a quick fix then go for it! My mates have run pvc plumbing pipe as intercooler pipe and it works too! Well upto a certain psi it does
  22. I recommend NOT buying platinums until you get the plug settings right with cheap copper plugs first.
  23. The best of the STi's runs a high 13. Change the turbo, ecu and intercooler and they can run mid 12's (after about only $6k of extra mods).
  24. Famous were very nice to speak to and although I went with Shannons in the end because they were cheaper, I must say that just from a customer service point of view they really stand out.
  25. $100 is what its worth. Someone on the forum can get the full DEI turbo kit including turbo blanket for $230. Check performance section.
