  1. riggaP, The pineapples assist in rear 'squat', helps maintain traction off the line and through accelleration. Pods are on magazine cars, cause magazine cars are 'pretty'. Mine's tuning house in japan have had the factory airbox fitted to all their GTR's for track/street work and they have 600+HP engines. The airfilter provides very little in the performance upgrade dept. maybe 5-10HP if your lucky at the motor. Don't need the hiflow or the slicks to run a 12 mate, but they would help. Skip the 'professional tune', just good maintenence will do (diff & gearbox oil changed regularly etc.) Whatisname, its a 95'. Jay, I wrapped the dump 'after' it got put on. It's a bastard job as well. Remember to spray it with hitemp silicone based paint first to seal the suface and cure it properly.
  2. yeah had 4 teeth removed under eneral before (had to cut some out of the jaw). This one I thought " Nah, stuff it its cheaper going for just the 'chair'". hurts more tho but not in the wallet.
  3. just had my last wisdon tooth pulled out, in the chair with what looked like multigrips?:drooling: If they opened up novcaine as an over the counter drug I reckon I could have got a mate to do this one. Its just a case of putting one foot on the patients head and ripping the sucker out with the multigrips, easy! :Owned:
  4. the stock injectors are good till 370HP@ motor and a little more if you up the fuel pressure.
  5. meggala, I know your only joking when you say that. I reckon we have more high 14 sec GTSTs per head of population than anywhere else, motorplex or not.
  6. Predator666, you have raised an interesting issue here... The HKS 2530 is rated to a little over 300HP, the 2535 is 340HP , the 2540 is 350HP, the 2540R is 380HP. Most would not argue that the 2530 is a bigger turbo than stock and is considered an 'upgrade'. So when people go around claiming 200rwkw, I assume this to equate to over 300HP @ motor (in fact 180rwkw given the right sort of losses is about 300HP). IF this is the case why buy a HKS 2530? Well for starters the 2530 IS a bigger flowing turbo than stock and does make a 'REAL' 300 or so flywheel horsepower. If that is the turbo you are aiming for then a 500HP intercooler is a dumb idea. ie: 500HP intercooler for a 500HP turbo and a 500HP ported head and camshaft selection. Either: 1) get the right sized intercooler for the upgrade to a HKS 2530 OR 2) get a HKS 2835 or GT3037 and so on to match up with the intercooler. Anything else is half-arsed but, none the less will go better than stock, just no-where near as good as a proper match. And I mean NO WHERE NEAR AS GOOD not just a little better.
  7. I have a full exhaust, the turbo to cat is thermo wrapped. The Pod isn't any better than the K&N panel filter I have. There are plenty of guys with a S-afc, more boost and big tyres and such who don't even crack a high 13, let alone a mid 13. What you are proposing dozens of people have already done and have not achieved even 13's let alone 12's. The pineapples are a 'must have'. The flywheel alone is worth 4 tenths. The larger intercooler might hinder your 1/4 mile time if you are using the stock turbo, unless its rated to 300HP or just under. Besides I don't think you need to spend the money there to get the 12's your after. Have fun trying, I know I always do.
  8. One day I'll have to dyno my car so I can see exactly where the peak power rpm is. I have to guess at the drags and I find it a little anoying. I've been thinking its peak is about 6200rpm.
  9. MRK25T, With some sorting out 12's can be achieved. The signature 1/4mile you have indicates some serious problems tho'. GTS-vspec, My car isn't the freak. I am baby yeah! Just let me break....er....tune your car like mine and times will tumble.
  10. I use Quickfit in Morley, went there yesterday for a mod on my Volvo exhaust. Cost me $40 for an hours worth of his time and some pipe and heatshielding material. He's done all the work on my R33. Quality job, good price. Give Pat a call.
  11. Mate, Check out my 13.4 'how to' thread. Do what I did. It will cost less and if you add the 255 tyres (I'd go simex to get more traction for your $$$) you might crack the 12's without the S-afc. If you can get the 60ft down to 1.9 a 12.9second pass is on the cards if the car is a carbon copy of mine. Think about it 12sec pass without any extra fuel management. here is my thread about the 12sec. pass. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...=&threadid=9445
  12. 12.79 is a good little time for the family car sleeper. 1.9 60ft is not half bad at all. I'd love to get that sort of time next run I do down there. Whats the spec on the VG30 hiflow rebuild, who did it and how much?
  13. People's good exeriences and success are far more valuable than negative feedback, except where the negative feedback is all you can find. This is simply not the case with the e-manage. I know I'd rather speak to someone who made the e-manage work than someone who couldn't, the guy who couldn't can only tell you what not to do.
  14. ed, This is correct. I have heard many a positive testimony to match the couple of negative ones. Try the e-manage forums (there are at least 3 that I know of). Most car owners are very satisfied. After looking at the software it appears very intuitive.
  15. hey mike, I got a meter of that heat sheild foam from clark rubber, it would be easy to cut to fit the area and you could then use it as a template for a metal one after. In the mean time it would do the job very well indeed. about $23 a meter.
  16. works auto, you have already kicked my ass, 13.3 vs 13.4 says so. I don't think it would be fair next time cause I've got the s-afc in since last time and you still have a std ecu? or is it re-mapped? Anyway if you can get it into 12's it should be a good race cause thats where I will be next time down there. Mr Mayhem, Sorry mate, I did miss quote there. I agree about the 3L totally. Ballistic, Thanks for pointing that out it was very funny. Do you also find faults in movies? you should start a thread on it...No! a whole forum! Wait a minute....your an english teacher aren't you! You'll never make me read the Mayor of Casterbridge, I'll fight you till the last!
  17. ok joe, I've taken my digi cam home again I'll try to remember to take some pics tonight. The next cruize to the dam I might take it along if its ready.
  18. Normal. If you think thats hot try the stuff coming straight out the turbo to the cooler. Oh you could wrap that pipe in thermal wrap btw.
  19. Mr Mayhem, Cracking ring land has nothing to do with revs or RODs (I have yet to hear of a bent or broken rod on either motor although I'm sure it has happened). It's poor mixtures and timing that kill. 300rwhp? geez mate there are quite a few RB25s with over 400rwhp on stock internals, they don't crack ring land because the tuning is performed by non-knuckleheads. You can crack ring land easy as pie on either motor if you try hard enough. Therefore the so-called inherent weekness of the RB25 is bull$&*%, don't believe a word of it mate. On the bang for buck stakes: $1500 won't buy you much in any case. After spending that much the power output might be equal but, I'd has at a guess the RB25DET will give you a fair bit more torque. 'Torque wins races' as they say. If I crack a 12 next time I'm down the plex I think we can put this argument to sleep, Shall we agree on that?
  20. Sarcasim will get you nowhere.... I go there all the time (nowhere), its a great place!
  21. just around the corner at 'revolution racegear' on hutton street, next to anz bank. DEI stuff is what I use , 2inchs by 60ft roll.
  22. lets not be sexist rob. You find 'drunks' at the front bar and the pool table.
  23. Nope. I have a stainless 3inch wrapped in thermal tape. If it was going to crack it would have by now. The cracking happens when the pipe takes a huge hit of heat and gets moved/twisted. This happens with GTR's so they usually have a flexible pipe bit.
  24. a large bolt is good to block things, secured with a hose clamp.
  25. Some diffs have breathers at the top, with alot of hard sideways work a small amount may get out. Othwise there is a leak. Changing the diff oil should be done regularly in order to keep the LSD happy.
