  1. a couple of the swedish battering ram
  2. Yep it's worth a fair whack alright. The engine bay air is often 70+deg C around town on a hot day it's hotter again, it's not a good thing really. If you are getting a full remap (fuel and ignition) then thats fine although I thought the R33 remaps were as pricey as a powerFC? It's 12's when you actually do it on the strip. Not a lot of point talking about how fast your car is going to be but, rather just go and see.
  3. Wash your mouth out with soap! My old 1977 volvo station wagon with a 308 conversion ran 13.9@101mph with two baby seats and a pram in the boot, and it was a most agreeable family car. I miss it so much. A 422kw UTE ROCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cmon it's a UTE ! ITS GOT 422 #$%@n kws. POWER MORE POWER!!!
  4. Well a bonnet down 177rwkw is a high 12 over the 1/4 if you have something remotely wide tyre wise on the rear and you have by a long way. I'd say if that pod filter has no cold air partition and feed the 177 is more like 150 realistically on the road. You have aftermarket engine management right? If drag racing is something you want to have a go at then things like some pineapples for the rear diff cradle wouldn't hurt and hopefully you have an upgraded clutch in there too. A 12 should be so easy it isn't funny if you are making a genuine 210rwkw bonnet down.
  5. No the camry owners saying 'the performance is outstanding' is like a Gtst owner saying ' it's more practical than a GTR..' ........practical performance like a camry that is.
  6. The verdict is: "Practicality is king" By virtue of agreement among both Imaginary and real GTR owners
  7. No mount it in the boot. Hidden inside your subwoofer box along with your neighbours dead parrot you accidentally killed with your air rifle .
  8. Won't 'support' very well at all. Power FC is your answer in the Apexi range of products. End of story.
  9. As an actual owner of an R32 GTR I can say that all that matters is performance to me. If the wing works for downforce and thats what you want/need then keep it. If some other type of wing works better change it. If extra downforce isn't needed then you don't need the extra weight so take it off. Practicallity is king. taking a factory wing off a hyundai exel is not rice it's the opposite. They shouldn't have one and without it the car may actually go up a steep hill with the aircon on. My present bunky R32 gtr has no wing, I can't be bothered putting one on till I acutally need it.
  10. You need to re-shim with the Juns, different base circle.
  11. unsheilded Pod for the bonnet down power lose everytime. In the real world they suck (pun intended) without a cold air partition and feed. I've just foam insulated the crappy HKS pods on my GTR, a few days ago. The difference around town is night and day. My intake temps were dropped by 10deg+ around town, thats a fair whack of power.
  12. go get a job at a nissan dealership, you may end up touching the new gtr
  13. What about a thread lock?
  14. What a stupid VS thread this turned out to be. A 422kw ute is a good thing regardless of the badge. IT'S A 422KW UTE! You can carry a cement mixer and still do great donuts!
  15. I've taken a few around myself. I thought the brakes and suspension on the sporty versions of the VE's are quite good for the size vehicle. They aren't bad at all for a family car. Anyway on topic I think 422kw is a good thing in a ute. I say lets take the sideway in the driveway. In the words of Tim Allen " What this thing needs is more power!"
  16. +2 to +4 intake and -4 to -6 exhaust is the normal range for stock cams adjustment gains. The improvements have a larger magnitude on larger turbos. There is also throttle response improvements under load, these are certainly felt but, often not mentioned.
  17. 103mph is a mid 13 and doesn't equal 293rwhp. It's a fair whack less hp than that at the track. Dyno's are really only a tuning aid anyway so no big deal. The good news is there is enough in the car for a mid 13 without too much dramas. You have 265's , just let some air out and with a little warm up you should get off the line quicker.
  18. When The Rock goes IBTL you know it's going to be on!
  19. On the dyno I managed to have my car stand still while the wheels went round and round............. On the track I did?
  20. If you don't care about looks grab one of the blue $5 camping foam mats and cut it up, I did with the GTR. foam insulates very well.
  21. Pods are a waste of time and money with your intentions in mind. The exhaust and other 'efficiency' modifications are worthwhile that won't greatly contribute to wear like; Lightweight flywheel/rims Upgrade the engine management to a power fc or similar Upgrading the cams is worthwhile to give you a bigger power band and make the power with less rpm, boost and intake temps. The fitting of adjustable cam gears even by themselves gets you some good gains. Appart from that the maintenence program for your car is very important to enjoy it. Since the odo shows 78,000kms you don't know if the timing belt is done, so I'd be doing that along with the idler and tensioner and possibly water pump if required. A full coooling system service is also a must do, for the Aussie summer.
  22. heat soak on a dyno is due to the fan not directed to give it enough airflow, this doesn't happen on the road. In short it's not a problem you should be fussed about. Getting traction and brakes are worth more stress and effort than this one on a stock turbo.
  23. yay! all three posts are videos.
  24. Have a look at forward facing plenums designed for forced induction engines as you see them in things like the RB26. They taper back accounting for the direction of airflow entry. They are also optimised around volume and a few other things. Your plenum is a good first fabrication effort in anyones books all the same Adriano, better than an Rb26 plenum? C'mon mate. Thats just the beer talking.
  25. Thats a very bad design of plenum for even air distribution to all cylinders, as a result you may need to keep the AFR's quite rich for safety. I would get rid of that one as soon as you can. I know you put some hard work into it but, it's not helping you at all. If you can fit the stock plenum somehow then definately change it back.
