Commodore Is Not The Best Car Ever
yoshimitsu9 replied to craig V8 taffe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
technology? please tell me what there is in the way of technology in these dinosaurs.... nissan and toyota were using more advanced technology 20 years ago... lol off topic but it had to be said -
ls400's are still made to this day... (well they are ls430's now) a late 90's model will set you back 20ish, u just need to look around cos there are some really nice ones getting around. as for engine work what are you talking about?????? they have a 1uzfe! a farking legendary engine, the strongest production engine in the world, goes 600,000+ km before needing a rebuild, the bottom end is good for over 1000hp and the top end is good for like 800hp. at the end of the day you dont really need to worry at all about the engine because it isnt going to break on you. as for build quality... i will anger you nissan enthusiests but toyotas build quality is much better, which is true.... ls400 is the way to go!

how about getting your self a nice lexus ls400? or any other lexus for that matter, they are very nice cars with the looks and power you look for in a coupe. as well you get that toyota seal of approval (fantastic build quality) and peice of mind knowing that the engine wont stuff up! my 2 cents, toyota ftw!

Would U Ever Consider A Carputer
yoshimitsu9 replied to R34NRG's topic in General Automotive Discussion
[quote name='Nav2k' date='28 May 2006, 01:11 AM' post='2207245' the most expensive part of a carputer is the fabrication for the screen in my opinion. an LCD touch screen (basic non fold out) is about $300ish. moulding it in nicely so it sits flush and blends in with ur cars stock appearance will cost a bit depending on ur car..unless ofcourse u want to do it urself which would be the best way.. doing this will cost a bit if professionally done..expect like $300ish for labour. lots of fancy things u can put in like a slot loading cd rom , etc. personally i have USB ports underneath it. pay the extra $50 for the fold out screen that sits in the spot where the head unit goes, imo it will save alot of time and tears. you would spend more than $50 in time custom making a spot to keep the screen -
OMG that is nuts. i would give anything to be able to drive a gtr, soarer, gto, rx7, wrx around the streets and not have to pay for it!!! and also get payed to drive them around

Would You Buy Your Child A Car?
yoshimitsu9 replied to HannahMc's topic in General Automotive Discussion
my opinion comes from my experiences as im only 17... i have had a job since ive been legally able to, working a shift a week of varying in the number of hours and not working at all (i had personallity clashes with 2 of the 6 managers that i have worked with so the odds were against me for a long period of time) now i earn $80-$100 per week (my inteded goal) and it simply isnt enough to save for a car. my parents have always said that i have to pay for my car my self (as with 90% of the things in my life) so many pple have had alot of things payed for by their parents so thats where my point for this thread comes from. for my kids i will pay for their first car, the value of the car will depend on the financial statis i have when the time comes. because i do not want them to have to pay for everything throughtout there lives like i have had to do, they will have a part time job (i will make them, so they learn the importance of having a little extra cash to make life a little nicer) but at the end of the day no child should have to put work b4 school, family, social life just to pay for a car -
