check it out as in mechanically??.... do it yourself champ.... first thing is check for smoke..... get them to start it up for 5 minutes... pop the bonnet listen for any suspicious noises... and put a 20 cent coin on the rocker cover... if the coin stays there its good:).... and once its warm tell them to punch the throttle up to 4 grand while u stand behind the exhaust.. look for smoke. then check engine bay and under carrage intensly for leaks of any sort... check tires for remaining tread and definatly check oil. when test driving get a feal for the gearbox if manual to see if there is much meat left on the synchros.... maybe shift faster than usual once or twice throught 1st second and third and see if there are any clunks or grinds... next in a quiet back street stab the brakes fairly hard to a stand still to see if they are firm and solid.... im sure there is lots other people can add but these are major points covered good luck

i never like to bad mouth a company but i 100% agree with you.... i went their just after i bought my line.. and new nothing about workshops in adelaide.... could and should have bought it over the net cheap!! and installed it myself.... if ya can put an rb20det in a vl ya can install a cooler ( i found out the hard way and learnt a good lesson about saving money) as for where i do take my car for specialty stuff.. grayham west workshops... they go out of their way with the extras and as for those coil overs... i want pics up when their fitted and im not doubting the fact that u will pick a good hight... remember there are lots of spoon drains in adelaide

this is seriously the best idea ever!! just make a big cylender cover it with alfoil.. jump inside and u can see through the vent holes... PLUS!! u can blow off everywhere vuuuuuuu tssssssssssssshhuuu

ahh thanks champs yeh ill mount it on some rubber or something.... gets bloody irritating thats all... simple fix leave avcr boost control to off unless extra boost is needed.

hello all about 3 months ago i had a power fc and AVC-R fitted.... diddnt notice till a month or so later because io hardly drive the car that when the avcr is set on either a or b boost it starts to tick once boost pressure gets into the posatives... its a fast tick and is loud enough to hear with the sterio on quietly.... i know its the avcr because when i turn boost a or b to off the doise dissapears.... PLEASE HELP with any ideas on what could be causing this or how i could get rid of this ticking noise..... anyone had the same problem? many thanks in advance jenkies

Kane whack up a pic of your beast with the gtr just for shits and giggles..... oh and interrior shots too! i can vouch for this car and the owner. in the time kane has owned this he's given it nothing but the best.... tyres and servicing. it has been his pride and joy and well maintained. this would make an ideal car for the girlfriend with its 4 doors and hatch or even better a second car for the family that likes a bit of excitement. roomy and immaculate inside and out, practical and man does it sleep e.g. no rice.... just style all round. original vr4 galant engine with air box (no pod) and all black hoses and larger brakes too.... for the person who doesnt want a defect this is also the car for you. ive managed to help kane realise that there is nothing better then the sound of an rb engine and no chassis tougher than a skyline especially when it comes to handling so help his dream come true!

an average basic survice consists of drain oil replace oil filter refil oil blow out air filter or replace...... oil filter 10-15 bucks oil top quality 40-50 bucks do it yourself. its the 100,000 km survice that id get done proffessionally e.g. timing belt sparkplugs etc

baaahahaha awesome thread....... back in my hay day (yr11-yr12) we used to go around in my mates hilux surf jacked up with monster bf goodrich all terrain T/A's in winter before school looking for the opertunity...... the tables have turned considering i havnt been driving for the last 12 months... winters just coming up and we've had a few rains.... i keep an eye out and stay a way from those good old puddles when walkin just to make sure..... i recon it would be pretty uncomfortable covered with road water and grime lol
