i was just curious. i live down hanson rd near arndale, and i happened to go by a house which had a silver skyline out the front, no licence plates and a piece of a4 paper on the back, for sale. on another occasion, i have also seen a blue 34 parked in front of this house and was just curious to know if that person was here. the house is located slightly opposite of hanson optometrists. just wanted to know what he did with the grey bar below the lights. looked very interesting. | OO OO| ====== <--- this bar below the lights with the word skyline on it. pardon the crappy drawing

Hi, i am a noob driver, P plates, 17 yr old. and am extremely in love with imports with my special favourite being the 32. after sayin all that... i regret to say that i cannot drive manual yet. anyone who have free saturdays or sundays and who would be willing to drive down to woodville north (bout 2 mins from arndale) i would be very VERY grateful is someone could drop down and pick me up for a few lessons to teach me how to drive on a manual... i've never driven a manual b4... if you want i could also pay you to teach me. or possibly fill up the fuel tank at the end of each lesson. no need to take me in ur skyline or your beloved car. if you have another manual car, a crappy car would be fine. i just want to practice and have some guidance. my parents own tm fabrics on hanson rd so if you need any suits or clothes down, i could tell them to give you discounts. thank you for takin your time to read this.

Spacesavers For The Sake Of Saving Money?
Kikuchi replied to Decepticon's topic in General Automotive Discussion
im not saying that i would drive carelessly with or without the space saver. if your putting a space saver on the back with 17 - 18 - 20" rims then your driving a crash prone car. put it on the front wheel and transfer the front to the back. i said what i did because i just dont trust the space saver. i dont speed or drive recklessly even with proper, normal wheels on. its just driving on a space saver just isnt my thing. luckily my parents drive a tarago and will have a spare tyre for me in it at all times. im sure you'll agree that the space saver is designed just wat its good for. but its alot safer to get a someone to bring your tyres and be 100% sure that you are sitting on proper tyres. -
get a 34gtr looks way nicer and good money for wat you get. tru that the gto looks pretti good and so on but to me gtr looks much better, much easier to mod, much cheaper to fix. mod up the 34 with the money that you would need to repair ur gto still, its your choice. dont worry bout what people think, if you like it drive it.

Stolen/recovered: R33 Nissan Skyline R33 Gtr
Kikuchi replied to MRMADAZ's topic in General Automotive Discussion
get a steering wheel lock and if u cant afford a real alarm, get a blinker in your dash or next to ur steering wheel in clear view of the windows. if you park it outside, get a car cover that fits your car perfectly and good straps to hold em down so wind doesnt make the covers scratch your car. spend good money on anti theft such as these and you have a less chance of theft. they usually go for cars in plain view and look easy to get in. one with a steering wheel lock will definately get skipped by a potential theft. get a deck with removable face and if your parking at home, take it in with you. also ive seen some decks that you could replace the face with a plain black face so that it looks part of the car and nothing important. have a cover for speakers or subs that are in clear view like below the back window and in the doors. tinted windows are good for night times as its harder to see inside but ofcourse most of the peoples on here probably have tinted windows any way. just make sure, make theft for the thief as hard as possible and least appealing give him reason to move away to another car. park inside where you can, and if you park in a carpark outside or inside, park close to other cars and people. on a funnier note, park next to other skylines that look way better then yours and you would lesson the chance of gettin it stolen. just a few tips ive gathered after many car thefts. luckily (or rather unluckily) they've been my friends car, mostly my family friends car. i probably wont be able to afford my own insurance so i'll be using these precautions on my car. and if i drive to uni or a large carpark where its not supervised or far from people. ill take my parents cars and let them take mine. they park my car in their field of vision all day so much safer for my car. and im sure theyd love a change of vehicles. rather then drive a slow and heavey tarago theyd love to drive my skyline. (good tip if you want them to pay for fuel aswell, give them an empty tank) have fun with your cars but best wishes to never get it stolen. -
give the pressure pump and home style cleaning a go i dont trust the car washes and i would not trust them if i had a decent paint on my car like pearl white or so on. remember to wash your car on the grass so detergents dont go down the drains and have fun cleaning those cars. another bonus. the excercise you can get from it rather then sit around and get fatter every day

hi and i thought i was the only weird one around here. looks like alot of people are aswell. im not into car models but i really want to know if i can somehow get a model r32 gtr and a r34 gtr and switch the front so that the r32 has a 34 front. i want to be able to make a mini replica of my own car. as i said im not a car modeller but i love gundam models, currently sporting 2 gundam models. Gundam Zero Wing 1/60 Perfect Grade Gundam Strike Rouge + I.W.S.P Perfect Grade no pictures at the moment because im not a good enough painter so right now they are left as is. i want to buy some cheaper models then start practicing painting on them first. Perfect grade gundam models are hefty in price. about the 200-300 dollar mark easily. i'm forcing myself to give it up so i can afford to complete my car first. it isnt working because im goin to japan where im buyin more >_>

lols i dont intend on driving it much, mostly to go on cruises once a month and thats it, i most probably will be gettin a hybrid engine car, most probably the honda civic, fuel economy. and the 32 will be my special baby, ive been waitin almost 7 yrs to get my 32, i wont be losing interest in it soon (only 17 now) and i aint those hot headed idiots dragging it and in short thrashing it. and know that i will need a rebuild, mayb a few but it aint stopping me from keeping it my special baby for the next 20 yrs no matter how much money i put into it.
-
so say im gettin an r32 GTR then get a r34 front conversion and replace the engine with an RB26. how much would this cost. i plan to make this a long term and will be saving up for the best parts. so i dont want to go cheaply on the engine. what is the best way to go, as this is goin to be a permanent car i hope will last me a good 20 yrs or so even if it will turn into a sort of antique/display car in my garage. would i need to replace everything on the car such as the rubber pipings as u say. and how much does it cost to have forged internals

Spacesavers For The Sake Of Saving Money?
Kikuchi replied to Decepticon's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i wouldnt want to be driving on spacesavers anyway. they'll probably puncture by the time i get home not to mention driving in the rain. just call road side assist or a friend to drop you off a tyre. id rather cause a little racket then cause a huge racket when my car wraps itself around a pole -
if we register 5 or so signatures that can be used, it makes it alot easier. these signatures are mainly only for fund transactions which can be done 1 or 2 weeks earlier or even the day before we need it. as i said earlier, we can post all transactions on a members only section and everyone in SAU SA have the option to view and discuss any discripencies.
-
i agree... atleast 2 signatures before you can make any transactions. and at the end of every event that has the need for the money receipts must be say posted up in the members section and then we at the end of each month we get a print out of how much money we have left in the acc... that way we can keep track of who is trying to take the money for themselves... if we do it this way... all the other work that must be done is organizing the members lists and a few other items that we need to pay for...
-
this may seem out a bit but i remember reading that it was only going to cost 60k with less power then the 34 but more luxury then sports car... i may be way off the mark according wat u guys are saying... but thats what i remember... please correct me if im wrong...
-
well guys im leaving to Jap in 2 weeks exact for school tour... WHO WANTS TO ORDER JAP PLATES ^-^ i seriously am goin to jap but yes i am also jk about stealin jap plates... then again.... whos up for $70 per pair of plates... lols but payin $200+ for a pair of metal rectangles? i can make that in my back yard shed...
-
even though i dont have a skyline nor do i have a car... not till the end of this year anyway... id still fork out $90 or even $100 to be part of a skylins club in SA. I'm only 17 but im pretty confident on database work so possibly i could manage members lists and so on. althought i doubt u guys would trust me with the money so someone older more experience should take that position. Being a club would give those advantages as funkymonkey stated. the downside as far as i am concerned is the accounting work and organization work which i think we can solve by actually paying the person a decent wage for his/her work. ofcourse this mite boost the member fee up abit but its alot more fair for the person. Also this is a little off topic but i'm ok with fixing computers so if any one needs help give me an email.
-
if being an official club is not worth it we could just be a sort of unofficial club sort of like a name we can say is ours we could still make a membership list and sai add a fee sort of like $10 -20 to join and membership includes some stickers that we must stick on the car until the time u leave the 'club' or something even if its buyin from SAU but get our own variation like AU - SA S in the format of the GTR badge and then SA smack bang in the middle next to AU S mayb that could even b SAU new sticker design? ofcourse there is no difference to wat u guys are doing now just something to distuingish us out in the crowd and we can seem more organized rather then a branch from SAU who dont even know exactly who is in the group
-
i was wondering why sau sa doesnt have a club yet. im not sure what goes into making a club and all that but perhaps we can try to organize a small club down in sa? mayb some suggestions and advice given by other clubs may help us create our own little club down here... i would be very happy to be the one of the first members of our own club, and will help out as much as possible... any ideas or suggestions guys?

alryte my birthday is coming up guys... april 30 to be exact and since im a noobie here i think u guys could buy me a r32 rc car ^-^

Just A Little Help And Advice...
Kikuchi replied to Kikuchi's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
yea i was planning to take this project over a long time so price isnt realli a problem... its more of an expensive hobby and if you dont mind paulr33 would u be able to send me the prose and cons of those engine please? as i will probably stick to the same engine type for the rest of the cars life i want to find a good one for it namely for dragging as im not into drifting or racing much. -
hi im about to buy my first car, going to be a r32 and i was planning on saving up to get a r34 front conversion and also save up to get the strongest engine that u can fit into an r34 (mind the language im new to skylines and cars so i dont know any parts and details yet would be nice if someone started a thread explaining all the parts and what they do/how they work/how can u spot one woud be good) i am totally into the 32 - 34 front and i want to make this one of the best skylines in adelaide and trust me i wont be street racing >_> i've already lost a friend to it. i was just wondering how much it would cost to set it up in adelaide and how hard would it be to get something like this done. i know some of my friends that are into cars are sayin at the least 10k but can u guys give me a more precise price? hopefully by the time i get the r32 i wouldnt be so stupid about car details... hope u guys can help with this

well obviously this camera wont work during peak hour >_> for 1 theres about 300 thousand cars on the road at once. 2. theyll run out of tickets in about the first 5 mins of peak hr. 3. ive got spare speakers... someone give me a cheap dvd player and ill hook it up outside one of these cameras. ill even design a solar panel for my speakers so it cna last through out the day >_> next thing u know theyll ban winding ur windows down because possibly hazardous projectiles could hit u and cause u to crash... or force u to buy govt issue cars of 1 vehicle and make every single person in australia to drive the same damed vehical....

Well, that is the car I will be building towards. So if my idea works, perhaps mine might make the SAU - SA car. Also i just thought of something else, perhaps every month or every two months would be a little tedious. Perhaps once a year, that way the runner ups and other cars have time to get their cars up to winning conditions. Also perhaps we can still get promotional items as the prizes, such as the winner gets a part for their car like a wing or body kit. or something on the outside that has the SAU logo on it which passes from 1 driver to the next.
-
perhaps we can use the promo car as a showcase car, to advertise or spread our name to other skyline enthusiasts sort of an advertisements for us aswell as the sponsers. also another idea on each state having its own promotional car, perhaps we dont need to do it like NS.com by building a single car, perhaps we can hold a meet once a month or every 3 months in each state take pictures of each skyline and post it up here for voting. the winner of the event gets to become the "lead" car of the period. like... the winner has something that signifies that the car is the official SAU car of the month. this way we can build more interest in the forums aswell. people will often search for skyline pictures. and since we'll have more pictures, we have better chance of showin up in the search. another advertisement for SAU. also we wont need to worry about promotional businesses and can remain just how we are but better

Hi guys, Im new here and ive recently caught the skyline flu. I stumbled by this post and thought id introduce myself aswell as a little idea. Im 17 P plate, anti hooner, and im about to get a 32 at the end of this year which i hopefully will get to show room condition. oh and my name is fong if any of you want to call me by real name. (well its Phong but i prefer fong...easier to type) back to the topic, i have a feeling id b a proud sau member so to be able to drive a skyline with sau on my car would be really nice to have. ofcourse u cant excempt the hoons that will try to buy the car and reck sau's reputation so maybe only selling to members. or sign an agreement with the buyer sayin something along the lines of we do not believe in hoons and if this driver is a hoon then we will not be held responsible. that way if the driver is a hoon and is caught on tape. the news wouldnt be able to blame it on us. im only 17 btw so if i am a little naive, dont mind me.
