Hi all, My older brother and i have recenlty restored a 1975 911. Its just about ready to be driven and we are going to need some full comp insurance for the both of us, preferbly with Shannons as it will only be used as a Sunday car. You should manually turn the engine over a few times. Get some oil flowing. Starting with the key could damage the rings after that long

It was the radiator, problem solved.

Just an update on my prob.... It ended up being the bloody radiator after all that. Instead of flushing it out i just bought a new 40mm thick one from Just Jap. Couldnt be happier with the result. Now sits on 81 degrees usually.

I guess if it was the altenator you would have issues with your battery and your car not starting. Try tightening the belts, or maybe the belts are on the way out. Thats the most common cause.
