  1. we fitted the bumper back on, it was secured at the front but not on the sides. so it was fine to drive. the bar just needs to be trimmed (but not by us) so that the side mounting points can be secured.
  2. bear in mind this job was an Auto to Manual conversion on a Stagea. not exactly a straightforward job. I told you I had no mechanic on staff to work on your car, and for some reason you assumed that I was a qualified mechanic. I myself am not a qualified mechanic, I am a car enthusiast who has bought a workshop and I am doing my mechanical apprenticeship. I have qualified mechanics who work for me. But back to your story. Even though I explained that I had no mechanic at the time, you still insisted that the job go ahead anyway and you said at the start that you would work on the car also to get the job done. If the same thing happened now, with the experience I have had over the last year, I would have sent you packing before the job was even commenced. I personally spent over 20 hours on that job, not including the time you worked on it, and I offered to charge 6 hours, but you kicked up a stink and ended up only paying me for 4 hours. So who got ripped off then? certainly not you. Hence a few choice expletives thrown in your general direction.
  3. this is a good thing, because if they are anything like you, then I wouldn't want them coming to my shop either.
  4. the plates on this one are ZRB26, I wonder if GOT26 was another RB26 conversion??
  5. thanks for your kind comment. I really do try hard to make my customers happy. but in this case, it simply wasnt possible.
  6. yes I think thats what has happened here, I will be sure to inform people before any work is done that there may be additional cost involved to get the front bar trimmed to fit. thanks for your responses and opinions guys
  7. right so I want your opinions on the following incident that occurred at our workshop today. firstly customer has paid $0 up front. so I get in a Greddy M Spec intercooler kit for him, and quote him 2 hours labour to install. It takes me about 3 but who cares I quoted him 2 so thats what I will charge him. so its installed and I put the front bar back on and hey presto it doesnt fit back on because the piping in the FMIC kit rests too close to the front bar not allowing it to be re-fitted as it was before. oh well I say to myself, the customer will just have to get it modified to fit by a bodyshop. I wouldnt want to attempt to modify it not having those kinds of skills. so the customer comes to collect the car, I point out the fact that the front bar needs to be modified to accommodate the FMIC piping. and thats when all hell brakes loose, the customer starts to say things like "I'm not paying for that!" etc etc. so I have to get the police down to the shop so they at least paid for the parts which they eventually did. so what do people think about this? did I do something wrong here? or did I just have a bad customer?
  8. Here is a link to one of our guys who has transplanted an RB26DETT into a Z32: there are lots of pics and info throughout the thread: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.p...;highlight=rb26

  13. oh man Beau was robbed, his opponent hit a cone and went straight on in the first run, Beau kept it together so he won that one, then it looked pretty even in the second run, but the judges ordered a re-run - then he lost the re-run. Oh well we can only keep trying It was still a good effort.
  14. We've just about got Beau's car ready for this Friday night (14th March 2008) drifting at Archerfield for the first appearance of his AMEC sponsored R32 4-door Come along this Friday and support Beau!
  15. we can get you a new GFB Mach 1 BOV for $250 delivered.
  16. Im not sure hey. entering the M.P. sprint series is a fairly formal process, you have to pre-enter for the 4 rounds, have a cams LS2 license, fill out a few forms etc etc. its not like you can just turn up on the day there and go racing.
  17. yeah Ports keep the bastards honest hey? I was chatting to Paul, he's selling his GT40 and going looking into doing a Chev C5(?) race car, holy crap that thing will fly! nice thats quick the track seems quite smooth now so you'd probably go even quicker. Pete
  18. yes Richard. your engine is fairly worn out, however it is worn fairly evenly so will probably still idle smoothly and run ok, although it will be down on power compared to a fresh motor.
  19. could also be a boost leak.
  20. my best lap time for the weekend was a 1:10 something. I hope to take a couple of seconds off that once I get used to the track. what kind of times do you guys do around there? PS i was just looking at your site, what the hell is the maryborough sprints?
  21. yeah it is, the front wheels are on like 1/4 lock!
  22. here's a couple of pics of the car
  23. well morgan park really is a great fun race track! top speed is about 180 on the main straight. there are two 140 kmh left hand sweepers, and the rest is quick squirts between tight turns and left / right combinations. the nissan/datsun nationals next year there will be a ripper! the way these sprints work is you line up next to an opponent for a standing start on the grid, then do 3 laps. over 2 days you do 8 sessions like this. the results are determined on the total time of your best 3 lap session. competition in my class was tough, around 20 cars, and the cars in our class were pretty much the fastest on track. the results were: 1. Paul Gillis in his GT40 2. Mike Weston Leyburn GT race car 3. Eric Roth in an ex Carrera Cup Porchse GT3 race car 4. Peter Somers GT40 5. Simon Rhodes Triumph TR-7 with V8 donk 6. Yours truly 300ZX and the rest, DB Cobras, Porsche 933, Skylines, Silvias, etc etc
  24. you usually connect these to the ECU, you dont need a sensor for it.
  25. I would recommend yellows. we run them in the AMEC 300. they stop quickly, they last forever (had the current set on for over 8 months now) and stop well on the street too.
