  4. Where are we meeting up before hand?
  5. TopGear did a few & comparison between 32,33 & 34 GTR's - search it via google video's or go to http://youtube.com/browse and search for GTR or GTR TopGear. Just google GTR reviews in general & it should turn up what you need... My review - GTR's kick arse - 10/10 nuf said...

  10. got a RB26 one - any good to ya?
  11. Yeh 320Kw at all 4 isn't huge in GTR terms, I am not saying it is, but I'd rather have the (Kw) head-room that I believe these twins (OS/Exeedy) allow. Nothing wrong with a twin (or a tripple for that matter), my NISMO was great (but is dying after a good hard 65+ thou K's), no probs in traffic, good of the line. I've driven a brass button & found it sucked the puss. Maybe it was just cuase I was used to the twin. I'll still give Jim a call as I am not sold on a twin necessarily, & it's good to hear the advice from poeople that drive these various clutch set ups. Thou I wouldn't choose a Jim (single) clutch just cause it's the cheaper option either. So what clutch do you run with your GTR & wot's it make ATW? I like wank factor...
  12. Oh please, surely this isn't worth 23+ pages of debate?? But because I am hooked in like a sucker too, I will add my 2c - I am a 5th generation Australian, my ancestors stole bread for me to be born here, I was conceived in the back seat of a Holden & grew up with 5.0L+ of Holden & Ford icons. So why do I drive a GTR? Simple, engineering prowess, 2 door sports coupe (2 doors = sports, 4 doors = family taxi) that for the $$$ performance, stuff all else on the road can touch. I have given up wasting fuel on ‘fly-by’ Commonwhore’s that should’ve been pressed metal 10 years ago – believe me if there was a Holden that could satisfy my carving for quality performance I would be there – but there’s not. All I can say is find someone who owns a Skyline & go for a ride – I am sure you’ll then come to understand the ‘dark side’.
  13. Thanks for all the advice. It’s good to hear from people that drive on these clutch’s. I’ll only be considering an twin-plate (at least) – thou with some of the favourable comments on triples they may be worth considering. I’ll think I’ll go for the OS item, the STR in 600Hp guise, about $2,500 with the pull-push converter kit. But I’ll still give Jim in QLD a call too. Thanks again for all your advice. Here’s some pix of my GTR. Sorry I don;t know how to make to pix smaller Cheers guys…
  14. I am looking at replacing my Nismo twin plate on my R33 GTR. I am tossing up between the OS Giken & Exeedy twin plates. I am favouring the OS Giken, as I've heard the Exeedy is noisy, suffering from a lot of driveline chatter - not too different from my Nismo clutch at the moment. I've heard good things from both clutchs - never driven a car with either thou. Speaking to people - Croyden recommends OS Giken (I think there also a dealer of OSG) & Advan suggests Exeedy. My car is a daily dirver. The clutch has to be good in traffic, & it also needs to bite like a pitbull on steriods when it needs to. My GTR puts out 318Kw at the wheels. What clutch do you suggest & why? & yes I am going to give that Jim guy in QLD a call to...
  15. Same thing happened to mine a while back. Now if I could just remember what the hell it was realted to, something simple though, like the wrong hose hooked up to EBC or intercooler hose leaking off boost & PowerFC overcompensating. If the BOV is going off like a steam train it's the same thing I had & it would bunny hop. Sorry I can't be much more help but I know who can - call Jim (?) at SAS - Silverwater Automotive Service - he'll tell you straightaway. Like I said it's something fairly simple, I was speaking with him about this the other day.
  16. There's lots of dreamers out there - they do the math on one of those internet calculators & think they can afford it & go see a sweet GTR, put their bank account on it as a deposit and then try to get a loan, just to be refused. When I was looking I heard the same story over and over about people saying they wanted it but couldn't come through with the cash - I even had one guy (Paul? I think from Melbourne) who had contacted just about every GTR owner I spoke to that had one for sale & told each he wanted theirs! : There are lots of GTR wannabie owners out there that just don't have $40+k to spend on a car & for the buyers that are cashed up, they have lots of other (performance) vehicles to choose from in that price range. Thou I don't know how anyone could go past a GTR for performance for the $$$'s Just make sure if you do find a cash buyer (or one with finance confirmed), don't be put off by all the other 'joy-ride' wannabies, & take 'em for a test drive - as you have a sweet ride there & I would have been very happy with it. Compared to the others I had seen previously, it was gold.
  17. Hey George - still no luck with selling the GTR eh? Have you tried advertising on 'CarPoint' - $5 with pix until sold Cheers, Tim...
  18. Wonder if this was this the Farrari & Lambo? Venue was no where nearly big enough - otherwise cars wouldn't need to be using the nature strip. Cops seemed good, I heard one of the organisers saying that they had to give a donation to some police fund. Cars were great, a deverse mix. Did any see the blown big block red GT drop its load (gear box/clutch) just as it entered?
  19. I live just South of Alb Park (the destination) and it was raining last night, but the clouds are breaking and can see blue sky - looks like it will hold off. The weather can be very different from Sydney to the 'gong.
  20. Jap muslce ?? :
  21. I am interested in coming up from further down South, past Nowra, may have a few others interested too, so what's the destination in the 'Gong. North Beach car park, the light house?
  22. Lucky, very lucky - glad it was only the car that was hurt! I know the tyres may have been a contributing factor - BUT PLEASE NOBODY USE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN IT’S WET/RAINING! It's not a well known fact but many accidents happen with cruise control on in the rain, especially if the wheels aquaplane for even a second, the cruise can kick in and will just break traction, and put you and your passengers in a whole word of hurt. This info should be printed in cars that have cruise control – but it’s not. This needs to be general knowledge for anyone who drives a car – so tell those you know – TURN OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL IN THE RAIN OR WHEN IT’S WET!
  23. Some pix from the day. Cheers to Kano for organising it I've cross posted this to the 'Who's from the South Coast' thread too, since I imagine this one will now have lived its life...
  24. You're not talking about the HKS torque splitter are you? I have one in my GTR, can switch the ATTESA off all together (READ: 'Smoke Show'), or shift incrimental amounts of torque distribution (something like 15%, 25%, 50%) to the front wheels and/or set in delays between the torque being shifted to the front wheels. You can have AWD on constently or turn if off all together. I think the HKS ones with the delay option (have 3 dials, as opposed to 2) are about $600-$700. W/out the delay option I thnk their much cheaper.
  25. Everybody still in for this w/end? No change in meeting points? And does anybody know if Ignition or Hot4's are confirmed? And can somebody spot me 3 bucks? :>
