What Industry Do We All Work In?
double overhead sun visors replied to sindows's topic in New South Wales
Psychologist - shrink, quack, etc... Most common response I hear when I tell people ‘so you gonna psychoanalyse me?’ – yeh for $180 an hour chump! -
Hahaha – yep my 1st car was the 82’ TE Gemini, wasn’t the torque monster like the diesel was. Only mods I did to it was about 4 litres of ‘Kill-Rust’ & a couple of kilo’s of bog in the boot, before going all out and blowing the engine – used more oil than fuel! Best thing that happened is that some woman in a Camera rear-ended it at like 2Km/hr, & with all the ‘bog’ reinforcement the boot just crumpled. I was more pissed that my hours of toil with the ‘bog’ instalment job had been destroyed. Luckily, she was insured and I got enough $$ to put toward my next vehicle – a 1976 FJ40 short wheel base Landcruiser, an absolute rocket compared to the Gemi!

Knocking In Rear Suspension
double overhead sun visors replied to Resin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Sounds like the shocks, but also might be worth checking the rear sway bar particularly if you have a large diameter exhaust, as it will run pretty close to the exhaust (thou not to sure about the Ceffy). With the coil-over’s installed and a possibly lower ride height, this may be bringing the exhaust in contact with the rear sway bar. You should be able to see the rub marks on the bar & exhaust if tis is the case. Good luck :> -

Your topic is as dull and boring as the towns themselves. Take it outside... ;P -

Thinking Of Fitting An E-boost
double overhead sun visors replied to oxford1327's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I am also looking at an E-boost 2, but also really like the Blitz SBC i-Color too. My Apexi EBC just died in the arse, so wont go that way again! -
I am in the market for a new EBC. OK – what’s the BEST Electronic Boost Controller? I am in the market for a new Electronic Boost Controller (EBC) after the Apexi (series 1) died. I am looking towards the: 1. GReddy Profec e-01 2. Turbosmart EBC ‘E-Boost’ type 2, as I’ve herd good things about them. Don’t like the look though (not that important!) 3. Apexi EBC type 2 (type 1 that has just died!) Type 2, love the look, but side by side tests seem to be weak compared to the ‘Turbosmart’ type 2! I am favouring the GReddy EBC, then the Turbosmart E-Boost Type 2, then the Apexi type 2. I prefer the Apexi, type 2, as I like the looks and readouts (yes, I guess I am vain) but I would probably favour the GReddy Type 2 at this stage because of the hassles of the Apexi Type 2. What do you recommend???

New To Skylines
double overhead sun visors replied to Niss's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
1. try Just Jap for all your spare. Also e-bay is getting better for spares too! 2. Just Car Insurance - expensive pre Just Car all the way - Expensive premiums, but if you don’t intend to crash than it’s well worth it, especially with the unlimited mods, just be sure to limit your stereo & wheels to $1000 for the policy & for if you want to save $$$. Of course don't loose your licence, you would be surprised with how many insurance companies restrict you because of this, previous loss of licence - I kow all to well! Drive within the legal limits on the street! If you want to go faster take it to the track for some REAL competition! -
Ethanol Fuel?
double overhead sun visors replied to baron25's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I usually use Optimax. I’ve used Optimax extreme (100, with ethanol)– with no noticeable difference on ‘butt of seat’ feel or Apexi FC data. From what I’ve read, it is debatable the real benefit of ethanol, this can all be solved with the appropriate tune, and if you can’t afford +4c a litre expense you should have never bought a performance car in the first place! -
R32 Gtr Fuel Problem
double overhead sun visors replied to FITZWA's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Does it appear to be in one area of the rev range, e.g. 3K – 4K? Now, with things settled in a bit, it could be running a touch rich in the rev range programmed in the FC. Check that & make sure the Apexi FC is set to show ‘knock’ so you are not running it too lean…. You should be able to adjust he air/flow mix on the FC to smooth it out, particularly if it does it under load! BETTER RICH THAN LEAN -
My New Gtr! With Lots Of Pics
double overhead sun visors replied to gexenon's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Beautiful GTR – have always loved the black (& Bayside Blue) & know the problems with ‘clean’ black!! Speaking of which, what are recommendations for polish/cut/crème/wash, for being quick and easy, as much as I love touching my car, I don’t want to spend all weekend washing it!! I’ve used some ‘Mothers’ stuff, but think that ‘McGuires’ is better& had some horror experiences with Turtle (your know their farked when there on their back!). What’s your experience? Love black – hate the effort! I compromised for metallic silver – not as sinister as black, not as angelic as white! -
Sounds like phun - I'll be there. Meet you guys @ Nowra Maca's - how many other participants do we have comming from Nowra? What's the destination? The email from the poster (when sent to it) returns an error, I hope this isn't an elaborate hoax to defect some cars to get the South Coast's police tally up..... If it is I'll create a distraction, some kind of elaborate smoke cirlce, & you guys lure the cops away with some krispy creame donuts - dam no krispy's in Nowra, looks like a cruise to Sydney first eh?

Hi George, Just letting you know (like you asked me to) that I have now got a GTR. Found a 1996 V-spec, with fresh engine (I am the first to drive it), HKS internals (oversized), strengthen rods, oversized valves, N1 R34 turbo’s, larger (core) intercooler, HKS adjustable cam gears, Tomi cams, Nismo twin plate, HKS dump pipes, into 4” super dragger exhaust, forged 18” alloys, Apexi FC + hand controller, carbon fiber bonnet & wing, Nismo gages, high end ICE, blah , blah blah, dyno’d 313Kw @ all 4. Immaculate inside &out, no scratches/dents – well nothing a good cut n’ polish wont get out. Thanks for taking the time to let me look over yours, hope you get what you want for it. Note: Pix are from my phone – so LOW rez crud.

There are many ways to get a loan & many packages out there, from Salery Sacrafice (good if your a public servant), to hire lease arrangements with some companies, straight personal loans, loans where your car is held as surety (security if you default) or you have someone go guarantor. Each financial lending institution will have their own unique packages, thou many will have the similar core features. If your unsure contact a personal lender broker and they can help narrow the choice. Just Google it & you will find plenty. Obviously allow head room for mods, maintenance & mistakes. And for gods sake make sure you have comprehensive insurance if you are going to finance a large part of it. The best loans are those off your family – if your lucky enough for them to be cashed up or have equity in their mortgage (if you own a home it helps a heap, other items like PC’s, TV’s devalue over time – quicker than your car!) then go that way. Also, take care when applying at various institutions because when they run background credit checks on you, your previous (recent credit) checks will show up & it may seem like your desperate for the $$$ & you’ll be screwed before you get a look in. Also avoid lending institutions that advertise things like will lend to bankrupt, bad credit history, imagrant, no fulltime work – ALL LOANS APPROVED type company’s like ‘Wizzard’ car loans (there’s a place in Coogee), as the loan you get could get you your next ride or a bitch load of debt that will make your next loan even more difficult.

Rb26 Sump Extention?
double overhead sun visors replied to GTR 94's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Is this always an engine out jobbie? Even installing a baffle in the stock sump?
