ummm dont mean to be rude but maby u guys should look at what iv got on my car already....i got a 33 with all the basic light tune mods (turbs, management, fuel system...) makeing 220rwkw. As for the gtr question, it was mainly out of curiosity as i havnt seen any while iv been at the track (not that iv been THAT many times, im by no means a seasoned drifter, u can ask my rear quarter panel that). the only reason im after a 26 is beacuse as i said before, i dont really want to go any further on my car until im sure i wont be dissapointed with the end result. as for finding the car, it is not an issue. i have a mate with a brother in the auto buisness in japan (the importer) and he assures me he can find them on a regular basis, even showed me a couple the other day 2 prove as i was cynical at forst aswell. given the advice you guys have given me along with that of a few of my more informed friends, im starting to have 2nd thoughts about getting rid of the 33 tho, but i thoght they wernt really the greatest because of thier increased weight, whats you opinions on this? also, i dont really see how a 26 can be THAT much more expensive than a 25 to rebuild, and as im a little nerd whos living at home (and will remain there unitl im 46, single and unemployed) while getting a grand a week from work, i have more than enough money to throw around (sorry if that sounded like bragging, but im just trying to outline my situation 4 u guys) oh and no offence taken about u assuming iv never drifted, like i said, im not a seasoned pro by any means, i just have a lightly tuned car that i want to turn into more of a dedicated drifter that can still see the streets occasinally. even driveing my car as it is now is a labour due to the suspension (really takes a toll on your back) and gate (every time im on full boost im worried about cops in traffic). as for complaince of the car, i cant really say much about that at the request of my friend, but it can be done.

what about a bugatti veyron.......mmmmmmmmmm veeeeeeeeyrooon *starts drooling*
-
sorry guys i didnt really outline i guess, i already have a car set up 4 drift, a sII 33, zeal adjustable coilovers, whiteline bushings, FMIC, Power FC, hks3037R etc etc all the usual stuff, main focus has been on suspension but im sick of it, i want something a little different, and you dont see many ceffys down here in vic as for the car already being built, thats exatly what iv been going to do all along. iv bid on an a31 1990 ceffy with an rb26 in it, zeal coilovers, strut braces, bride seat, power FC Djetro....hjopefully i win, if not theres still a chance i might change my mind, but i love the stealth facor of the ceffy cos i seem 2 get a fair bit of trouble from the officers in my 33 wich is part of the reason im over it i think and ebola, u and ur god damn gtr love affair lol if u ever get the $$$ i can get u an rb26 halfcut from japan for cost price, maby then ull stop talking about them lol
-
i want an rb26 because its so easy to get power out of and they are bulletproof even when stock. to many of my freinds who run SR's seem to have problems but the few people with rb26s seem to have "less" problems because as we all know, drift cars ALWAYS have problems to some extent. im currently looking that a 1990 a31 ceffy with a 26 in it because i think it will despense the added weight of the 26 more evenly due toe the larger size and weight. still not fianlised so any other opinions are more than welcome

i know this question gets asked over and over again, but this one is somewhat more specific and im nto just some dreamer posting a useless question just to kill some time. im about to import a more drift orientated car that will still c the street sometimes that has an rb26 in it. compliance and importing etc is no problem as i have a mate who is an importer but will be doing it at mates rates 4 me. ok, anyway, iv whittled the list down to the following.... 1) 32 gtst with 26 2) 31 ceffy rb26 3) s13 with an rb26 or he already has a 450hp 32gtr with a26 out of a 34gtr in it on the boat, but im thinking the added weight will be a negative (and of course ill have 2 kill the 4wd with an atessa controller). any advice would be much appreciated because it seems everybody i talk to gives me different advice and i want to make the most informed decision i can. i was thinking the extra weight in the front of the sil would throw the balance out too much but just thought id c what you guys have to say. cheers ardie

i loath the monash, every day at 8 and every night at 5:30 i sit there and watch the $$$ fly out the window as my car sips away at my bank balance. on the police issue, iv seen a poice car every morninig without fail but when im on there, there isnt really any way u can speed beacuse of the bogdown of traffic. i just wish that he would have been near when that truck driver almost ran up my tail because he wasnt looking and had to stand on the brakes at the last minute as i jumped 4ward as much as i could, and then he spat the dummy at me and started tailgateing me, even when i went to turn off he followed me into the turning lane but didnt go onto the offrmap, what a mega tool
-
exactly! and i just want 2 have the most power that i can while keeping it responsive, 26 = less lag otherwise id just rip out my 25 and put it in, already got some work done 2 that. i just wanna go all out, i dont want 2 turn around after building a 2nd 25 and go "damn i wish id put in a 26" like iv heard a few people on the forums say and also im getting the halfcut pretty cheap and hopefully the shell will be too so itll work out alot cheaper than some old thrashed gtr

hey people, i currently have a 33 s2 set up 4 casual drift (zeal coilovers, zorst, front mount, 3037 etc) but im looking at getting my hands on a 32 gtst rolling shell and dropping in an rb26 that my mate has sitting in his garage in japan and setting it up as somewhat of a dedicated drifter that will see a little road use every now and then. im choosing the 32 becase of its increased agility due to it smaller size and lighter weight. anywho, im just woundering if some of you could shed some light on the subject 4 me, any information such as cost, time, other misc complexities, additional parts needed (its actually a full frontcut that im getting out of a 33 gtr which ill be mateing up to an rb25 box with OS giken internals). basically any info u have at all would be much appreciated as i want to be fully informed before doing it as iv seen a great number of poorly calculated and thought out projects get of to a roaring start only to die nmid way through due to riseing costs etc. thanks again ardie

man im so joining the police force, i can see it now.... *me sitting in unmarked car on side of the road......bugatti veyron cruises past doing 60 in an 80 zone BAM! i pull him over "excuse me sir, im sorry im going to have 2 confiscate your vehicle, u r being very anti-social" "ummmm how so?" "well for starters, u didnt run me when i pulled up next to you, u merely kept to yourself, need i say more. now if you wouldnt mind vacating the vehicle sir" driver gets out and waves down a taxi *ardie jumps in veyron and takes off into the sunset.....strippers run out into the street and are showered in cream as fireworks start erupting

yeah, it was a stocker hose of my mates old one, ill go back and have a look over it when its light, maby theres a crack i didnt notice, i really dont want it making a flutter. the less attention my car gets, the better
-
could it also be the plumback line? mine has a crack in the hose hoever it doesnt seem to go further down enuff to cause a leak (its right at teh start if the hose)
-
yeah, but i replaced it with another hose i had cos it had cracked
-
hey, i recently removed the crossover pipe 2 get 2 my coilpacks. then i put it back on, reconnected the BOV etc and now it makes a kinda fully sick VL flutter (the bov still works but only half, like it opens and closes rapidly) then i put on a mates HKS SSQV and it did the same thing as my stockie, if anyone could shed some ligt on this itd b much appreciated cheers ardie

Cop Saying That My Exhaust Doesnt Meet Epa Requirements?
ardie replied to TracidTrax's topic in Victoria
hmmmm sorry but im with paul on this one, if i was u id just pipe down and be thankful nothing else happned. although it may feel noble and slef satisfying to "fight back" in the long run it could have seriouis ramifications for u. previously i would have agreed with taking action but given what happned to Ruffls with his PTW im keener than ever to keep a low profile. like when i got my last canary. the guy got me on a few things that could easily b fixed (height = adjustable, tyres = replaced, bov = plumback came 2 days after dammit lol) and considering that he missed some of the things which would have caused more problems (4 starters the legality of my cars power 2 weight ratio). but thats just me, im a bit of a woos lol -
i wounder how effective a fake nos bottle will be!? actually, next time i fill my car up, im just gonna pump it full of nos, c how that goes
-
i found this extremely informative and helpful regarding performance upgrades 2 my car a brief overview of nos

well i only just finished school last year, iv deferred 4 a year from psychology and psychophysiology at swinburne in order 2 pour some $$$ in2 my car (working fulltime as a chippys labourer, doing nightfill at safeway and playing semi-pro basketball for $$$) b4 i have 2 study fulltime. but i may not b going back 2 uni as i have a scholarship offer to play basketball in college in america (so if anybody wants a black S2 with fully adjustable zeal coilovers, an hks 30/37 on custom low mount manifold, plazman plenum, sard injectors, HKS headgasket blah blah blah...in about a years time, start saveing as ill be over there for 4 years)
-
yeah i reported it straight away but understandably they said there was nothing they could really do because i didnt get a license plate. the officer was actually really nice cos i was shaken up pretty bad after it, he just sat there n had a chat 2 me about footy, school, uni etc and made sure i parked my car where it was visible incase they came back, he even compimented skylines as "great bang for ur, buck aslong as u drive it right and avoid fines". if only more officers were like this............sigh but yeah, i often get drunk bogans yelling stuff and ratty idiots in their VLs. like another time, i went to park just up from davies bay and some rats in a vl up the road started yelling stuff and then 2 of them started 2 run 2wards me, again i mashed the right foot, and they dissapeared. after those 2 incidents, i now never stop in frankston over night (except at lights etc) and im always councious of who is around, behind and next 2 me.
-
umm yeah could i just have she same info as shy plz
-
YES! and YES!!!! gooooood coffie there, i can vouch 4 it (every day after work they make sure i dont fall asleep behind the wheel lol)
