Moving To Sydney Soon - Lookin For A R33gts-t Steal Deal.......
R34 Sedan replied to rondofj's topic in New South Wales
Personaly I wouldn't recommend Just Car insurance, as they are extremely expensive, and DO NOT give you choice of your own repairer (their really just for young hoons). Being 30 yrs old you should be able to find a much better deal els where. I know you really can't compare as it depends on age, driving record, suburb, colour of your underwhere etc. I'd recomend GIO special vehicles or Lumley Special Vehicles (LSV). Ph:1300 88 56 16. My R34 is insured with LSV full comprehensive for $31,398 with an annual premium of $1,227. I had an accident last year (not at fault) and LSV approved repair with my usual panel beater who is extrememly expensive. I don't know about you but I like to have that choice, have a serious accident with Just Car Insurance and your likely to have problems with the quality of repair. Just my opinion. -
Hi Guys, I'm looking at an ECU for my R34 GTT (manual), and was considering a power FC. I've spoken to the guys at CRD who are recommending a Greddy Emanage Ultimate. I'm a little scepticle as I've heard the Greddy emanage is a piece of shit. However CRD assure me the Greddy emange ultimate is far superior (to the plain emanage), and even allows better and more precise tuning than the power FC. Any comments and suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

Try Northshore Prestige (bought my R34 from them), honest and reliable, and NO sales pressure. Their cars are in exellent condition and reasonably priced.

I've used this guy to fit (and engineer cert.) an aftermarket seat to a previous car. Found him professional and reliable. From memory the cert. was not cheap.
-
If your after new rims, Enkei are actually quite good value, around $500 per rim. I think you can get them from Owen tyres.

If your prepared to travel to the Northern Beaches I can recommend an EXCELLENT detailer. He does all the work for the panel beaters up stairs, who are the best around (Mercedes specialist). He did my whole car after an accident (and total respray), and did an excelent job. He fully detailed the interior and put fabric protection on the seats and carpet. I also had paint protection on the paint job (shit's all over polish). The paint protection gives the duco and unbelievable shine. The paint protection cost $300 and comes with a 3 year guarantee, then after 3 years you have it re done (no more polishing). I can't remember how much he charged for the interior, I think he did it for about $100 (as I had the paint protection as well). I can't give you any before photo's, as the cars been resprayed, attched are some after shots. If you want to contact him, send me a PM.

Yep owning an R34 sedan rocks. You get the performance of a Skyline with the convenience of a sedan (there's also a little more leg room in the back). Plus I hardly ever get any hassles from the cops, as they don't stand out as much as the 2 door. In fact I've only been pulled randomly once in 2 years, and that was for a breath test, 30 seconds and I was on my way.

GIO custom cars would also be worth looking at, as they also give your own choice of repairer.

Lumley Special Vehicles are underwritten by Lumley (who are a huge company). Yes Just Cars do allow 2 quotes, one of your choice and one of theirs. However no decent Panel Beater will be cheaper than theirs. (AAMI repairers are rock bottom) I had my car repaired by a Mercedes specialist (who did an absolute top notch job), which would never happen with Just Car.
-
I'd avoid Just Car Insurance if possible, as they do not allow your own choice of repairer, and force you to use an AAMI network repairer (which are all shit and do dodgy work). I'm insured with Lumley Special Vehicles, who have been excellent. Lat year I had a major accident with 20K damage (not my fault), they were very efficient with the claim and allowed me to take it to my regular panel beater. I know it varies from person to person but I've found them to be quite cheap. I pay $1,227 per year for full comprehensive cover on an R34. Also they allow mods as long as you inform them before hand. Lumley Special Vehicles Ph:131 430

I've heard of many cases where they've been set to less than 10%. DO NOT speed past them.......
-
How did he go with the colour matching? Could you tell the difference between the repaird and non repaired ones? Thanks
-
I'd say CRD are the best at tunning (or possibly Advan), but I don't know if you'll get in that soon. Paul

Hi Guys, I have a set of nice Enkei rims with mild to moderate gutter scuff, which I'd like to have repaired. I know magmam does a good job. But I live on the Norther Beaches, and am wondering if ther's anyone you could recommend localy? Thanks
-
Yeah I want a top notch professional job, I may be able to do it, but I'd rather pay a professional. Johno, how much did he charge you. Thanks Paul

Hi Guys, I've got an R34, and would like to have the centre console (cheap shitty black material) re coated. Can anyone recommend anywhere to have this done? I live on the northern beaches and would prefer somewhere local if possible. Thanks
-
Yeah I thought about that but it's difficult because the seats never feel the same in the show room as they do when fitted to the car. In a previous car I had a good quality Recaro, which felt great in the show room, but once fitted to the car (different angle, height, etc) it felt terrible, and I ended up removing it. Also do these bucket seats have any adjustable lumbar support? Thanks
-
Does anyone else know much about A&B motorsports? Havn't heard of them before.
-
No I live in Allambie Heights, I'm rarely in Dee Why.

Hi Guys, I have a farked back, and need to push my ares hard in to the back of the seat, with the belt very tight. When I do this the belt put's to much pressure on one side of my body (and doesn't hold my spine straight), which causes further back pain. I'd like to look at installing a racing harness (for street use) so I'm held in the seat even. Dose anyone know if it's possible to fit a harness to the standard seat of an R34 GT-T, if so what are the legalities, and would I need an engineers certificate. Last of all any idea where I would have it fitted. Thanks
-
Yep that's where I bought my R34 GT-T sedan (5 speed manual), which are quite rare in manual. The car was absalutely immaculate (as most of their cars are), they put no pressure on me, and I got a very good price. I wouldn't say their expensive at all. I saw many other 2 doors on Parramatta Rd for much higher prices. And what's more I went back about a month later and they gave me a straight swap of the factory wheels for a set of 17" enkei alloys. Can't ask for more than that!!!!

Hi Guys, I'm looking at some suspension upgrades for my R34. Sway bars springs etc. Can anyone recommend a good workshop on the Northern Beaches? Thanks

Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them

Hi Guys, Looking for a set a rear tyres for my R34. Have Goodyear Eagle F1 D3's on the front (with plenty of tread), what do think of these of these? Should I stick to the same tyres front and rear? Any ideas what I should be looking for, I'm after good grip in the dry and reasonably good in the wet. I don't mind spending decent money but don't want to go to rediculous. Thanks -
Hey what cars have you driven before? and how does the handling of the V35 compare? (cause it's a pretty big and heavy car) If you get one expect to have hoons hanging out there window checking the ride and trying to drag you at every possibility because they've seen the word "skyline" on the back of something that looks more like a lexus than a nissan Yeah I know what you mean I drive an R34 sedan and the same thing happens to me all the time "thinks it's just the fact I drive a sedan (no spoiler) with SKYLINE on the back" IDIOTS USUALLY ARN'T WORTH WASTING YOUR TIME

Shit that sounds cheap for a 3 year old 350GT, looks like a nice car to, well done Maybe a conventional manual sedan would be more expensive, don't know?
