Had some problems with leaking water hoses, long story short i want to get rid of some hoses. 1) first i need to know what the part circled in red is/does and if i can bypass it 2) secondly the hose that goes into it is T'd off one of the heater hoses and then ends by being T'd back into the other heater hose(traced in blue), if i can bypass the part circled in red and delete all of the hard pipe that runs along the block do i still need a hose going between both heater hoses? Any help would be appreciated

I found a pic of the water lines under the manifold: Now the question is what is the heat sink looking thing attached to the oil filter, i have had a look at the one i have in to garage and it seems there is a hose in and out but the water does not leave that unit other than through the hoses. What im hoping to do is simplify whats under there and make things easier to get to. The plan is to by pass the oil unit all together and run a hose from next to the thermostat housing all the way to the heater hose at the back of the engine bay eliminating the hard line that is bolted to the engine and the 2 rubber lines going in and out of the unit at the same time, the two lines attached to the unit go to the other heater hose so i would assume that i would have to put a T piece in the heater hose i put in to connect that line back up, assuming that i cant just delete it all together. The hose that i have already replaced is the one that starts above the oil filter and goes into the heat sink, i assume that the one leaking now is either the one coming out of the heat sink or the one that comes out of the bottom heater hose and goes to the trhrottle body (not in the picture), either way if i can do things they way i have mentioned it eliminates a couple of possible problems and makes replacing the hose's easier and cheaper.

exactly, i just assumed with the name that you knew what it was, i dont hear that name used much and when i do (especially in these situations) it refers to the plane. -
i know of 3, there is one that goes to the turbo from the inlet manifold, its hard line off the inlet manifold to the back of the head then a 90 degree rubber bend then hard line again, the rubber bend is about 3 inches long, that one is a complete bitch to replace, ended up using a hose from the manifold end all the way over to the turbo. The second one i have replaced is under the from of the manifold, once you remove the three 10mm bolts holding 2x bundles of wiring and 1 big hose you can push them out of the way and get good access, my problem was that the clamps were around the wrong way which made it a bit of a bitch. The one that is leaking now im now too sure about, need a pick from the underside of the manifold to see how many more are under there.

Part of the link at the top is "right in the poo" so that should explain it lol, also he was given a penalty notice not arrested, shitting his pants may have saved him from a night in the cells!

you do realize there is 2 settings that you have to adjust, duty and gain, from memory the first setting controls the boost level and the second controls how fast the controller lets it get there, the higher the second setting the more chance of spiking.

Nice, is this gonna be street reg? If so you need the plates to go with the name SR71, but that would cost 3k, you could go SR071 but there on my 33 -
From what i have read on here i would not waste your money on a nismo filter, saw a test on here ages ago that showed the factory filter is the best one available, at best i would (and do) use and non oiled k&n and im making 250rwkw so that will be more than fine in a non turbo.

I put a new cap on when i replaced the last hose, got it from burson and they looked it up to get the right one so i assume its right, i also replaced the thermostat and water pump about 20,000k's ago when i did the timing belt, i might pull the thermostat out and check to make sure its working when i replace this hose. The radiator i replaced not long ago as the old one was clogged with rust, it was with another second hand stock one but was like new without a hint of rust in it. There is no water in oil or oil in the water and it does not use any oil or water (when its not pissing out of a split hose). Got me stumped, it may just be old hoses at the end of there life as the ones i have pulled off so far look like they have been on there since the day it left the factory but i also wanna make sure its not some thing else that is going to blow the new hoses as soon as i finish changing the old ones.

A few weeks ago i got a split in my top rad hose, didnt think much of it, was a clean little slip that only just pierced the inside of the hose, had another so i replaced it, then a couple of days later i had one of the ones under the inlet manifold start to leak, after pulling it off i found that the pipe it was on was rusted at the end, about 5mm of the end just broke off and right where the hose was pierced was a jagged bit of pipe, cleaned it up and replaced it with what looks like an almost brand new one off a spare motor i have, a couple of days after that the alternator/water pump belt broke (has been on its way out for a while but i just kept tightening it), after replacing that all was fine for another couple of days but now there is another water hose leaking under the inlet manifold, cbf fixing it any more so i'll let it sit for a while. Also when it went last time i had been giving it a bit of a hiding and the temp only went up when i parked it and left it idling, steam was coming out from under the manifold (i assume the leaking hose) but the radiator cap was only warm so was the top rad hose but the hose had pressure, i cracked the rad cap and steam started to come out, waited till it was done them topped it up and drove home normally (actually a bit slower) on the way home it lost no water and the temp did not go over 75 (normally sits at 72-75) im just wondering if maybe the thermostat is not opening which is creating more pressure and splitting old hoses, any suggestions? also has anyone got a picture of all the hoses under the manifold, the manifold i have has had everything removed so im not sure what goes where.

As far as i am aware you are allowed 0 modifications on your p's! A pod whether in a shitty home made box or no box is still a modification and is easily detectable by ear and illegal.

Personally i dont do much of a warm up with my car, give it a minute or two to get oil pressure to full and then baby it till its at the right temp, dont forget every thing else needs to get up to temp as well and it does not do it by sitting in your driveway. As for turbo timers i dont like to shit in my own back yard, therefore if i give it some shit on the street its not where i live, after doing so i just cruise home which is enough of a cool down to be able to turn it off once your in your drive way.

WOW, i wonder what asking price of the GT40 is. Im assuming that djr is hitting the skids, couldnt see any other reason why they would sell the shell sierra (assuming he still owns it)
