Im really sorry to hear about what happened.. Firstly.. Glad that you guys are ok.. (cos now you can kick he's asss) Secondly.. Your mate has made a mistake in taking your friendship for granted.. I hope your mate has realized this and gives you he's car or works hes asss off to repay you. Too many people are taken for granted these days and it sux!!
