  1. Sweet as thanks! I'll give them a call and see how I go. Cheers.
  2. Hey there guys, I'm looking for a place that can do custom suspension fabrication work. It's not your standard spring/coilover/air suspension work. If anyone is familiar with them its an MGF (which uses hydragas spheres which is the part I'm looking to get made. If I can find a decent manufacturer with a decent price I may look into buying around 10 or so (or more pending price) Anyone have any recommendations/advice. Thanks for your help.
  3. Had a look at harvey's today. The guy said that all the stores are sold out of the body only, although they did have one or two left at QV with the 17-85mm lens for 1487. Update must be on the way soon, 60D according to the chap at myer.
  4. My school was in lock-down thanks to this fool.
  5. So how did you go mate? I go for mine on the 5th of July. Did you find it hard?
  6. Is it a hammer? Out of curiosity, care to pm me what the device is?
  7. From the Vicroads exemption form: "What is a family type vehicle? A family type vehicle is typically a sedan, station wagon or hatch used to carry families with 4 or more seats and when manufactured was equipped with child restraint anchorages. A family type vehicle does not include sports cars (eg a two door coupe) or the sports oriented variant of a specific model range." So to those asking whether you can get an exemption for cars such as a Territory Turbo, Golf GTI etc, you can't. Too many people try to evade the law based on technicalities, and a lot of the time it doesn't work, especially with subordinate authorities who base their whole organisation around transport. I think people are forgetting that Vicroad's is not part of the government itself, they are a specialised organisation who base their existence upon transport, and for that reason know the in's and out's of it, unlike politicians, who try to know everything, about everything, and a lot of the time, do not.
  8. Hyundai Excel? Bought my old '97 model for 400. Cost me about 900 for rego and RWC including a new windscreen, so about 1300 on the road, and mine was only on 120,000 k's aswell. Look for one with power-steering though. Once you get going they're fine, but parking without it gets annoying.
  9. Could the taxi driver apply for a civil claim? For having to clean his taxi afterwards that's pending it wasn't written off in the collision.

    Driving?

Daily occurrence in my side of town. It's funny how all the Toorak tractors out there all think they are big and strong. Hey try driving in my area while your on your L's. Everyday on my way to school I get people tail-gating and trying to overtake me, just keep a smile and laugh at them, then they really get pissed. Melbourne driver's are a joke, laugh it up and you'll always be the one with a smile on your face when they going off their t!ts.
  11. AU Falcon? I thought they would be a little old for the police by now?
  12. I'm looking at buying a set of Astra Turbo rims from Sydney. Anyone have a clue on approximate costs, and which company's will do them? Don't think Australia post will, as their site says that the girth of the package is too big. It's a set of 18" wheels with tyres if it helps. (If not anyone have a set for sale in Melbourne? - wrong place to ask but you never know!)
  13. I get today and sunday off, fully paid for aswell (which is not a whole lot I might add), but have to work on saturday (8am start) and on monday. Oh wells at least I get paid at 2.5x, which is still a whole not. Being young sucks.

    Who Got Hailed?

    South Yarra/Prahran
  15. Hey guys as stated looking for a shell of either a 180sx or silvia (s13,s14,s15) or an r31 (all coupes, s3 silhouette sedan's only). Must be complied/registerable. Prefer cars that are complete body wise and interior wise, although let me know either way for what you have. Thanks guys, Hakan.
  16. There's no need to worry mate. As far as I'm aware, the appointment at vicroads is strictly to check the numbers on the car match, and make sure nothing shifty is going on. The place who completed compliance on the car is the one responsible for altering anything that needs to be in order for the car to be up to Australian standards (including replacing the xenons with halogens if that's what the ADR's state). If Vicroads was going to double check all the ADR's on every single car that has come through, they wouldn't offer registration appointments in 15 minute time-slots. I think they've got enough to do with the hundreds of people going through their centres each day without having to worry about your lights You'll be fine mate, don't stress too much.
  17. +1 for pics of interior. I just bought one of these about 2 days ago, just need to go pick it up. All I can say is that is one straight car mate. Original fog lights too!
  18. I've already tried googling it (a car forum was not the first place I came to ) but I didn't understand half their lingo. From what I've gathered I need a box of some sort that connects to the phone in some form (called an MT Box or something or other) but that's about as far as I got.
  19. As the title says guys just looking for a way to unlock a mobile phone, a nokia e63 in particular, without having to contact the network. Thought some of the pc buffs on here might know. Thanks for any help guys.
  20. Well as the topic states I was just looking to see how much it would cost to get a clutch replaced with just a standard part (genuine or aftermarket does not really bother me) for a VT commodore. I'm looking at prices in melbourne including labour? My guess was around the $500 mark but am probably wrong. Thanks for any advice guys.
  21. Bump drop to Price dropped to $2000. Got my eye on something else, and need the space for it. Swaps welcome too. For absolutely anything, whether it needs work or not I'm not fussed, but would prefer cash. Throw some offers my way guys!
  22. As title states, how do I burn an avi file to DVD without having a start up menu? The only way I have found to do something similar is when using nero and still having a menu but autoplay after 5 seconds or so. Any ideas?
  23. An issue I have found is that if you have not changed channels since another show has started, it will not refresh the channel info that comes up until you actually click to go into that channel. Gets really annoying. Also the fact that a few shows I was recording started and finished 10 minutes late got annoying, but figured it out soon enough. Luckily for me SBS started and finished on the dot, did not get an ad at the start nor finish...was great. I have a playtv on lay-by at my work (target). If anyone wants one I can give it to them for 130 which is what it cost me. Pretty decent since cost price is $129 as far as I'm aware. Dick Smith stock it for 148 but you'd be hard pressed to find one in stock anywhere at the moment as most have sold out, and deliveries (for my work at least) aren't due til mid to late January if that. Send me a pm if anyone wants it for $130.
  24. It's hard to find a buyer for these things mate. Most people that have a little bit of cash but lease it so need something newer, and the people that want these cars generally want it cheaper. Your price is fair in my opinion, but your not going to get 100 people looking at it, like they would be if it was like 3k if you know what I mean. Just stay at that, it's a good price, you'll find the right buyer eventually.
  25. Price drop. $2300. Want it gone. Offers welcome.
