  1. ey i saw that empra skyline in coburg on sunday IMO looks good in the flesh but it could've done with some better rims. i'm luvin the kit on the wnatry r34.
  2. lol i've been looking on ebay and theres a r32 gts4 for 4.3k or sumthing but its an unregisterable import. this would be a killer to sell once i'm good enough to upgrade but if i was to get it (most likely not) can you get rally rego on them so you can drive them to the track???
  3. lol i got the sh!ts first time out. it freaks me out too. i moved over so this guy could overtake me on the outside and there was like half a karts space on the inside and thats were he flew past. and last time my mates front wheel got stuck between this guys radiator and engine. looked freaky as.
  4. I went go-karting yesterday at silhouette in somerton. And no not in a hire kart, in a rotax 125. It was good except i crashed one the 3rd lap (first out in the kart between mates and myself) at the 2nd right hander from the start line (or the first corner out of the pits). I apparently spun out and had a 360 degree turn in the air. I ended up hitting the tyre barrier and the kart was on top of a tyre (wrecked their nice tyre barrier...lol). I got off and took it off the tyre with a little help and drove it back to the pits. I'm a little battered and bruised on my ribs but i'm alrite for now. Then after i got off the kart i realized that my foot was on the acceleraor cable thus causing me to keep accelarating and spin. Later on my bro-in-law and his mate were having a race and one of them tapped the other lightly and they both spun out and caused the rear axle to bend. So they repaired it and i was the test dummy (first one out after repairs) and was suprised to see that the brake cable wasn't tightened and causing me to haul up really, really slowly. Anyway i think after that experience i might skip karting, and start out in khana's (if i can save up a bit more). I also looked on the cams website and figured out that i can get a L2S when i'm 14. I was looking on ebay and there was a r32 gts4 or gtst for 4k but only as an unreigsterable race import. What do you guys reckon?? All ideas and feedback are much appreciated. nice 28
  5. hey guys, i live on malvern rd just off chaps. I'm 13 so i'm guessing that chasers is the club across KFC. And btw, i am a turk, or as u guys refer to us as "ulehs". But im not of them people that always start sh!t. I'm on chapel every day but i reckon its pretty boring. Theres hardly any fights actually on chapel street. The only 1 i saw was when this weird p!ssed off guy was like basically assaulting people on the tram. But to be real it was pretty funny.....lol enyways i think ive said enough that is almost totally irrelevant so.
  6. hey mate they had a how to install guide on these in autosalon magazine or something. if your keen on giving it a shot let me know and ill photocopy the pages (2) for you.
  7. Is this the car on the front cover of speed issue 19?
  8. Ok so i'm guessing that the pros of each one are something like this Karts: Faster speeds, learn racing lines etc. Khana's: Learn when to turn etc in real car. Anymore ideas????
  9. Snowman: thanks for the vids tedshred: I'm actually going to go to silhouette go-karts this weekend with my bro-in-law. I went there a couple of times and had a shot with one of the 's' motors but this time i'm going to try a rotax because thats what my bro-in-law has now. Do you go to shilhouette karts often? If you do i might see you there then. Guys i still don't know whether to start out in karts or in khana's? I'm stumped!
  10. Snowman i wish i could drive like that but i'm really ineperienced with driving because i'm only 13. I want to learn the basics of driving first like steering, throttle control etc. So i think that motorkhanas would be a good place to start. And where can i get more of them motorkhana vids.
  11. You know what i was thinking, maybe i should get one of those "unregisterable" imports, but if i'm correct, you need a level 3 cams license to import one. There was a green gazelle for sale with white rims somewhere. here we go just found it http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=109105 170kw atw looks alrite for 6.5k how about an s13. they're fairly cheap. i could get an unregistered car, but that's going to be a hassle to get it there. if there was a registered one i could get my parents to drive it there and back, but otherwise i don't know. if i knew where albury/wodonga was i could consider it but if i need to finish high school i think i might give it a miss. ill search the net later for motorsport training for juniors. thanx for the input guys.
  12. Thanks anjo0, was only really after the gt-t specs anyway
  13. hey guys, i'm a noob so i was wondering what engines the r34's had and whether they were a 6cyl or 4cyl or watever (see i told you i was a noob....lol)
  14. lol......by the time i'm on my l's i want a r33 or 34 gtt. so i'm saving now for it.
  15. Well if it's true that it's going to cost me 20k pa then i think i might give it a miss and stick to khana's. IMO go-karts need rebuilds too often. If i was to do khana's, do you think something like a n13 sss pulsar would be alright. Because there's a few cheap exmaples going around. What other cars do you think would be good, cheap and reliable for around 1 to 1.5k. I would really love something along the lines of a r32 gts or a r33 sedan, but thats a bit outta my price range for now. I'm thinking of getting a job in the near future so i might be able to get one (probably not). Anyone wanna sell me their r32 for 2k.....lol I wish that i'm the next schumacher but as far as i know for now, he was probably a killer driver when he was young.
  16. Well i guess that, in most of your opinions go-karting would be the best starting position, and thats probably what i'll end up starting in. i found a site that is the victorian karting association and maybe i'll be able to find out when and where the competitions and all are. Depending on the kart's engine, you can find some pretty cheap exmaples as i've seen in the trading-post. Do you think i should go for and shell and get the motor seperately or get it all together? There are a few karting clubs and i guess the closest to me would probably be oakliegh. I guess i would be in the Junior class. So i'd have to run the 100J motor i think. What i want to do is become the youngest person to race in production car racing or something. I know i have big goals, but you'll never know what life brings.
  17. Do any of you guys know the lowest class to start out in where it is low-risk so i don't hit another car besides motorkhana's etc.
  18. thanks for all your support guys justin911: for me, school always comes first. I want to finish a degree in I.T or business. Duncan: I was reading that you can get a junior license (not sure which one, but L2NS is probably right) for motorkhanas when your 12, and you can compete in a khanacross when your 16, unless you've been in a motorkhana before then you can do khanacross' at 14. Blind Elk: The Kyneton Car club and some other club are apparently holding junior events (for 12 to 17yo's) which is more focused on getting young drivers experience, which is what i need. KamikazeR33: If you can find it, can you scan it and send it through a pm or something. Al: I've been in a hire kart before and they are really, really slow, (especially at sidetracked). My bro-in-law has a race kart and I've driven it a couple of times now and hopefully try out his new rotax these holidays. I have been behind the wheel before, but only to like take the car out of the garage and all, and because my mum's car is an auto it kinda sucks. ATM, i think my best bet is to either do motorkhana's etc. or do a bit of go-karting.
  19. I'm turning 14 in july so its not too far away. how much is it to join SAU vic and get a CAMS license. Can you even get a CAMS license when your 14? My parents are supportive of me and i'm lucky because my brother-in-law is a mechanic so i can get help learning about the cars from him and of course you guys. i know how to drive (i think?), but only an auto. Mint F40 coming in a couple of decades (hopefully sooner)
  20. I'm guessing that most of you guys here think that this is stupid but i wanted to know if you knew any places where I could do circuit racing or motorkhanas etc, keeping in mind that i'm only 13. Most of you are probably thinking i should grow up and focus on school or something but i saw a kid in the magazine speed who was only 14 and was doing motorkhana's. i absolutely love cars and really want to learn more about them and how they work. I want to learn how to drive and hopefully by the time i'm around 16 or 17, i can get a sponsor and race in production cars or something. Anyway back to my questions. Do any of you guys know where i could start off racing (not go-karts) in victoria? Would you make a lot of money racing professionally? Please none of the "Grow up" lectures and all. Thanks for all your help. Nice 28
