Hey guys, Little story I have here. I'm 16, and just bought an r31 silhouette (manual of course ). Just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on how I should get started in track days/skid pan days. I know that I need a CAMS license (L2S?) and to get that I need to be a member of a cams approved club, but thats about it. What would be good events to start out in? I'm also wanting to get involved in defensive driving courses or advanced driving courses, so I can better my skills as a learner and be a better driver for when I get my p's. Anyway, thoughts and ideas, and what is the next event coming up that I could get involved in? Thanks in advance for all your help guys, much appreciated, Hakan.

Quick question. Do I need to have a driver's license to get involved? Only have a learners permit at the moment (too young).

so true. especially if it's on a loan. my advice, buy a shitter, save up and then get your gt-r. Loans are the biggest waste of money. But in the end it's your money (or really it's the banks) and what you do with it is up to you. But good luck mate.

Now thats something you would like Don't worry about it mate just take it as it is. Everyone says it but now you know better in case this sh!t happens again. As hard as it is, life goes on. Sell your skyline. As much as you love it there's heaps for sale and you could always buy another one. Especially if your on your p's.

Ahh thanks mate, didn't know that. So the car handles rather well for a large car because the unsprung weight is kept low? What's that meant to mean? It was a rough guess. Could be more could be less, but the exact weight of the wheels WASN'T the point of my post.

Many people complain that the r35 is too heavy, so add another 20 - 30kg for wheels isn't going to make much difference, is it? I personally like the white one. I normally don't like chrome but that's the closed-face chrome rims. It still looks tough i reckon, but each to their own.

Was this car parked on chapel on thursday? I'm pretty sure it was this one, and had same rims. If so, it was damn mint man, loved the rims too.

Hoping your not asking for cash, everyone works just as hard for their money as you do, and nothing in life is free. But anyway as was already said why dont you take the head off and check whats wrong? Your not using the car anyway so it's not going to hurt if you start taking parts off. Or even easier, sell the car and buy a sh!tter.
