Hey, I've seen it before but i cant find it. its a thread somewhere on this site of the skyline factory options which were available when the cars were first released. Its got things like "rear view vision stalk mirrors" and "GT gold badges" and the "light up Skyline display" for the boot. If someone knows where it is can someone please hyper-link it here? just relocate the horn elsewhere. You can get defected for no horn. I asked my sisters fiancee (hes a cop). You can also fail rego inspection aswell if the horn dont work.

It was the damn ECU! bout bloody time! no wonder the diagnostic screw wasnt working.....

I never thought to check the piping out. Ill have a look in the morning. If it doesnt happen to be that, i'll have to bring it to a mechanic i suppose. I'll let you know what happens anyway arbess.

Read the thread "R32 headlight problem". pretty sure its a common problem with R32's. its your switch. once you take the dash surround off unplug the white plug connecting to the switch. the terminals inside this switch might look corroded, broken, something of the sort. clean the terminals. also check the inside of the switch too.

old thread now this one is, but car still aint runnin. Have no cash being a poor ass uni student. It starts up but when i put my foot down it splutters and misses and still blows fuel smoke. I replaced the PTU/igniter but still running like the proverbial. a freind came round with tools and checked the spark plugs, and they were coated in soot, that being obvious as its blowing smoke. What should i actually be looking at? The CAS, AFM's, something to do with ignition, paris hilton? Ive tried checkin the fault codes but it seriously isnt working. i turn the screw on the ECU clockwise and leave for 2-3 seconds, then turn back to normal position but nothing. i bridge the two terminals (CHK and IGN) for the Consult plug but still nothin. The fuel system has already been checked. all good in that department. when it drives it sounds as if its runnning on a few cylinders, then as it warms up it gets worse and there is barely any power. i also have to keep the revs up in case it stalls. I have no idea what im lookin for now. any info or same experiences will help!!

ive been trying to but it wont work. ive tried turning the screw on the ecu. doesnt work. and ive also tried bridging the two terminals on the ecu plug but still wont work.

Yeah its an R32 GTR. Gee wiz, there are a lot of threads on this site about how to clean the AFM, and they always use break cleaner or carby cleaner. FAAARK! well that sucks. Yeah that would be awesome if you could find a spare AFM just to test it out. If im not askin for too much, you reckon it would be right if you could possibly find a spare coil pack and igniter? just in case it aint the AFM. Cheers Ron!

go to www.upgarage.com Like i said, its in Japanese. I was just randomly clicking on icons then it showed stuff for Skylines and the illuminated panel was with all the other stuff. If you really want one why dont you go to the main thread called 'Japan' and ask one of the guys/gals working in Japan to get it for ya. Of course they may ask for a comission fee which is quite reasonable.

Its still the stock comupter. The only thing that i have done was clean the AFM with brake cleaner. The car was still running after i cleaned it though. Reason why i cleaned the AFM is because sometimes when i would accelerate, there would be a slight hesitation, but if i put my foot down a bit more it would go back to normal. cleaning the AFM to see if that may have been the problem didnt help. This may have been a pre-existing problem anyway. about three weeks later thats when i started having this problem. The engine cranks but is really hard to start, and i also noticed the 'engine check light' flashing. But when it does, it blows black petrol smoke, as if its not firing on all cylinders. This was during the time when it was raining all day, so i thought water/moisture may have gotten into some places. You can check it out if you want. Im still new to the Skyline stuff. Thanks for your help bud. Yeah im planning to get one later down the track but i kinda needed one now. My car is having trouble starting and the engine check light is flashing. Ive tried checking the diagnostics manually but that didnt work for me. Dont know why. And i cant take it anywhere in case the engine dies on me. Only sometimes the car starts, but when it does it blows heaps of black petrol smoke, so im not too sure if it will be one of the coil packs, AFM's, the igniter or the CAS. I need a diagnostic cable to try and hopefully pinpoint it down to what it may be.

just like R33_STEALTH said, if your not goin to get the engine bay, underbonnet, doors etc painted and your only gonna do the exterior painting then go with your original colour. The last thing you want is popping your bonnet to show people the engine bay or opening the door and for them seeing you didnt do a full respray, by seeing your old colour underneath. It doesnt look good and you will be called a "povo" or "tightarse"

Do you also have for sale the Igniter? If so, how much?

That flashing light of the 'cat' also doubles as an engine check light. Your gonna have to check your diagnostics on that one. Download the R32 GTR repair manual and get crackin! The chime is (i think) a speed warning. you can take it out by unscrewing the dash surround. The rest im not too sure cos mine was already taken out. I think the noise box is silver(?)

its probably a Japanese car air-refreshener. Ive noticed that distinct smell in a lot of imports

Like blind_elk said, more info please. Can you actually hear the motor turn over or what? Check your dash as well. There could a flashing light on it.....

Hey all, just wonderin if anyone has the nissan consult cable. Im having trouble starting my car and when i turn the car on, but not try and start it, the engine check light flashes on the dash as well as the the LED on the ECU. Ive tried checkin the diagnostics manually but its kinda confusing trying to distinguish what code its spitting out. I cant get the car started so i cant actually try and bring it to Kerry's or somewhere where they are likely to have the Consult. Any help appreciated PPL!!!

Thanks mate, but im all the way north. Northern Territory ! i think i might buy myself the consult cable too. Too hard tryin to read the flashing LED on the ECU and dash, cant decipher whether its flashin one code or another, then it seems like its not flashing too quick or slow lol
