  1. it sounds like its electronically related. check your diagnostics on your ECU. Hopefully it may have picked up the problem and will tell you whats wrong. If the diagnostic on the ECU dont work, then i bet it may be your ECU.
  2. Cool eh? i snatched em off ebay!
  3. are these for movies like the ones you see on youtube.com with the drift movies spliced in together?
  4. No worries mate!
  5. FAaaark! thats cheap compared to here in Darwin! bout $1.48 here in Darwin for premium 95! Just use 95 if you cant afford 98, i use 95 for my car. Like what Grant said, 91 is good for a non-turbo skyline.
  6. Resoldering the AFM's. To solder, you first need a soldering iron which looks like this: You should buy one of these. Theyre really useful especially if you wanna permanently connect wires and stuff like that later on. Good for electronic stuff. and the solder to actually melt onto the terminals which is this, looks like wire, but its very bendy: When the soldering iron tip heats up, press it against the connection you wish to solder (this will heat it up) and then press the solder onto the surface. It will melt onto the surfaces which you want to connect. this method is the way to prevent 'dry solder' from forming. How dry solder occurs is when the surface that needs to be connected isnt properly heated up. This is a common problem with skyline AFM's. Here is the link on soldering the AFM's and how to open them up. Remember to seal up the lid again once youve finished soldering to prevent moisture getting into it. let us know how you go. Always good to give stuff a try: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=113284
  7. yep, the soldering fixed it. It looked dry but wasnt physically disconnected. Melted old solder off and put new solder on. Has been running fine now. Sir-D check your diagnostics and i bet it will say your AFM's are stuffed. Yeah, my car was spluttering (kinda like it was missing) and wouldnt rev past 3000rpm. pretty embarrassing too. I thought a bus was about to clean me up, but then the car went back to normal again so i booted the pedal! lol.
  8. But beware of transvestites!
  9. i can give you a big long list of used/new parts sites here in australia if that would help?
  10. from what ive heard, Japan have better fuel? but either way, like Flipmo and GorGasm said, it is better if you run a (newer) turbocharged on a higher octane level. 95 or 98 RON. Just wondering, how much is it for premium at the moment say...... in Sydney? Or Brisbane?
  11. Thailand? Why dont you just buy local? Ive heard of some fake crap going around, so better be careful especially if the price is too good to be true and especially if it is from asia outside of Japan (im asian too, but Ive seen a heap of fake crap that you'd think was authentic) Ive seen these for sale overseas: http://www.apexi-usa.com/news_special.asp Were you looking at buying second hand or brand new?
  12. Thanks DEVO R33GTR Yeah, I resoldered the joints today. I did it on both the air flow meters as I did not know which one may have been playing up. I didnt plug them back in as i'm waiting for the sealant gook to dry. When you resoldered your joints did you notice any dry/broken solder on your AFM's? Or did you just resolder it and all was fine? Cheers!
  13. sounds like your shockie. I bet if you go over a pot hole it clunks too. My 180sx used to do that, the left shockie was fooked. clunked and rattled all the time, and the rear would step out to the right when accelerated hard.
  14. My clock dont work. I havent looked into it either. Not much help here sorry, but i thought that i'd just mention that every R32 i've been in the clocks were never working. It must be very common indeed. I'll get around to it sometime but just a matter of time.
  15. Hey all, Just wondering would anyone happen to have two spare AFM's that i could borrow just to seee if it solves my problem? My car stalls sometimes, when driving sometimes in low gear at little speed it wont rev past 3000rpm, then the problem will go away, then come back. Ive checked the diagnostics and it comes up with code 12, which is the AFM signal. I would like to make certain that its the AFM's before i go out and buy new ones or fix the ones ive got. Ive noticed its been doing it ever since i got the car, but it seems to be getting worse now. Thankyou!
  16. this is the email i sent my letter to : [email protected] Not wanting to add fuel to the fire, but just voicing my thoughts on the situation. What he did was wrong, and he gave all of us people who drive with due care a bad name. But, the article does seem a fair bit biased, saying "He then walked to his Nissan Skyline, parked in Abercrombie Street at Redfern, and drove off, but was arrested a few minutes later in Newtown." I have never read an article where it said in a similar situation "he/she walked to their commodore...." This does seem like the typical media pin-pointing to drivers of imported vehicles. Their definition of an imported vehicle is "turboed, relatively cheap to buy therefore dangerous". What gets to me is that whatever happens in other states in Australia, affects our road rules here in the NT. Governments are easily influenced by issues that have been brought to us by media attention. Now that other states have their "points system", I have heard from a police source that probably within the next 5 years, we will have a points system introduced here. Next, they will probably target our unlimited speed limits on the highway here, and thats when the shits gonna hit the fan. Has anyone ever driven from Darwin to Alice? You wouldnt want to at 110km/h. Its a long, boring proverbial ride. Hardly any road stops, unless you wanna get a a 'Wolf Creek' jobbie done to you. My thoughts
  17. Not these pineapples: these pineapples: Theyre bushes for your suspension cradles
  18. I hope so! That way no yanks can get their greasy french frie mittens on them! Not that they can anyway.
  19. I think i know the problem....... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=116233 could be serious......... Too much power?
  20. email sent in reply to article to SMH. lets see if i get a reply...
  21. I aint ever gonna get rid of my 32. Keeping it forever! Wouldnt mind a Toyota Chaser though. They have that business look to it but i hear they go like a shower of shit! Stick to your guns mate if Skylines are your passion. Leather retrim; do that and it will seem as if your skyline is more 'businessy'. HEHEH. But im definitely waiting for the prices of R34 GTR's to decrease. Give it a few more years. If i have kids by then, no matter, they can get in the boot. And im not joking!
  22. magpie, why do you want to know if skylines are heavy on fuel when you dont have one? WTF? Instead of wondering about: -bodykits (youve asked it a shitload of times!) -Honda Integra or a Skyline (Which one you got? LOL) You should: -finish your school homework. Education is the way of the future! -Buy a car (not a Skyline, because you've already made yourself look stupid - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...c=114042&st=220 -finish your school homework
  23. drew it meself. you get the idea! LOL
  24. Nope. It would have been diluted when he filled the tank up.
