  1. do you have the interior trim that sits around the rear quarter windows?
  2. thanks for the info man. I might take my door trim off again sometime and have a look at the drivers side as the passengers side I think somebody has already extended the cuts in the door but for some reason I think the drivers side was untouched. I do have a photo of the passenger side with just the pod and no speaker in it. Also I did make note with mine that if you look in the middle picture you will see the top of the speaker hits the door trim where it curves inwards but that wasn't an issue for me at all because it just basically sat on top and wasn't putting any real force on the speaker. I have included the photo of the passenger side pod which I think had metal already slightly chopped out of it before i got the car just to give you some sort of idea on how mine turned out. Also i guess another thing to factor in will be magnet depth and such. I might try and get the snake cam in there as well when I remove the trim just to see how much room I really do have because judging by eye it looks like there is about a cm or 2 between my speaker magnet and that white circle thing that goes with the power window. Also I don't know much about this kind of stuff but just thought maybe if people put in some info on what has worked for them and what hasn't it might help others out.
  3. Lets see if we can work out where things are going wrong for some people. Did early and late models come out with the"Active Speaker" grills because I thought I saw somewhere that early models didn't have the Active Speaker but of course I could be wrong. If somebody who couldn't get this template to work could upload their stock plastic speaker surround it might help us out a little bit more. Now the holes were not perfect on mine either I could get the 2 top holes to line up but had to redrill the bottom 2 (was only a few mm off) but as I said I had no issue with the door trim. You may have notice how far back I countersunk the screws on my pod but that was mistake by buying screws that were to short. Here are the stock plastic pods from my 93 R32 GTS-T 2 door with active speaker grill. Front Back Also don't forget to countersink your screws as well because remember you adding a few more mm's on top of the 12mm MDF leaving the screws sitting above the wood. [EDIT] After reading through the post again maybe it isn't a year model difference. Hmm I wonder where things are going wrong for some people.
  4. Well considering there is no Edit button that I could see here are the photos of the template in use. I haven't screwed the speakers in yet as I haven't wired up the car yet but everything seems to fit fine. Sorry about the crap quality, was taken on an Iphone 3g. As others have said some of the screw holes don't line up, I was able to line up the top 2 holes but redrilled holes for the bottom 2 screws. I'm not very good with woodwork so this is just evidence that anybody can make and install these pods. As mentioned earlier when printing out the template do it in Illustrator and make sure there is no scaling on and if your printer is like mine and doesn't print the bottom line don't panic because the diagonal lines going to that part work out to be 70mm to the edge of the paper so just bust your ruler out and line up the diagonal line and finish the line to the edge of the paper. the door trim sits tight against the speaker using the 12mm MDF but there was no need to try and force the trim on. Also you have plenty of clearance for the power windows as well. This is installed on a 93 GTS-T 2 Door. No modification to the "Active Speaker" grills needed either.
  5. thanks for the template. Seems to work a treat. Just getting the right mounting screws and then I will find out if the door trim goes back on. I am using 12mm MDF with Alpine Type S 6.5" splits.
  6. Thanks for the indicators. Highly trustworthy guy as well. Payment for indicators cleared on Saturday and he sent them Monday via express post and they made it to QLD and in my hands today (Tuesday). He also kept good communication (let me know as soon as my payment cleared and sent me the tracking number when he posted the item as well).
  7. I take it the payment didnt show up today? If you don't see it tomorrow let me know.
  8. If that is the kit your talking about it is a Do Luck kit. I thought I would post up the images from Knight Racer website to save people from visiting the link which as you can see is basically a Do Luck kit. They even refer to the kit as a Do Luck in the image name and the more I look at it the more it looks like a do luck kit which you can get easy enough in Australia. I am looking at going Do Luck on my R32 just a matter of getting pricing and stuff from DMD.
  9. Alright I don't drink anymore and just because I don't drink doesn't mean that others shouldn't be able to enjoy a glass wine or whatever with a meal. So drink driving is an issue and you see the problem is the solution to this problem has already been solved (still might need some work to it) which would work a hell of alot better then lowering the blood alcohol level which would need an cop to pull you over and test you so when you factor in the amount of police on the road compared to amount of motorists it just isn't logical to rest the duty of keeping drunk drivers off the road to police. Now I said before a system has been made that would work better and the thing is it would take some time to come in even though I heard about this system years ago yet nobody in Australia (Unsure about about other countries) has started to do anything about it. What this system basically is, is a breath test system in your car that is hooked up to your ignition. You can't start your car without first having a breath test and if you blow over the limit your car will not start. Now I understand this could be rather annoying for people having to do this everytime to start their car but personally I would feel better knowing that every other driver on the road had the same problem meaning that car wasn't started by a drunk person. Now there is pitfalls to this system, I am sure some tech savvy people would find a way to overwrite the system so a car could be started without doing the breath test. They could get a non drunk random to blow in the breath test system for them, and I am sure the list goes on. Personally I think the Breath Test Ignition system has a better chance of seeing results over leaving the entire job to the police who should be spending their time doing other things to ensure the safety of the community they are part of. Now I know some people will think "I don't drink and drive" or "I don't drink" so how is drink driving my problem? You will find out how it is your problem when your car, property or somebody you know becomes another statistic to the effects drunks on our roads.
  10. Wish I had a spare R32 one sitting around but only have a R33 one that a wrecker gave to me to see if it would work but the inlets/outlets are a few mm to big. It's a pain finding a non seized R32 compressor which is why I took the Nisswreck path, They are rather good from my dealings with them and the compressor works well and all inlets/outlets were covered and the compressor was wrapped in bubble wrap. Sadly I still dont have my AC up and running just need to fix my PBR error and all will be good. Actually I did just remember something, Try a few workshops like Powerplay Imports (not recommanding them just first shop to pop in my head), Most people get the AC removed when building a car for drift/track work.
  11. I was a PC gamer before moving onto the PS3. Been playing COD4 since it came out and you are right a bad ping is annoying as hell and even if they never planned on releasing dedicated servers for a console they should at least include a server list that shows the pings from the user hosted servers. I can't wait for MW2 as COD4 is getting really old and thankfully I am now in my final tourny for COD4 but they should improve the online experiance not just add more guns/perks. The console host migration has been updated but it never really worked in w@w and I will be suprised if it works as well as they claim in MW2.
  12. If worse comes to worse man you can get one sent up from Nisswreck in Melbourne. That was the path I ended up having to take after checking out a few local ones but they were seized. Problem is I think it cost me around $200 in total for the compressor and postage.
  13. The original 60gb is the only australian released PS3 that supports PS2 games. I have GT PSP to tie me over till GT5 comes out in march.
  14. I swear there was another topic regarding JDL in the past 1 or 2 weeks but for some reason I can't find it now. Personally I think they are very nice kits but I don't think anybody in the other topic had ordered from them before. Here is the JDL website http://www.jdltuning.com
  15. R33 GTS25/S Model Code: GGKAREFR33EDABAK-A Production: 03/1996 Colour: KR4 Engine: RB25DE Transmission: 5 Speed Manual
  16. hahaha, R32's are my fav model I was just saying no special features that I could see. I would kill for a late model Gun Metal 32GTR (even better if it was V-Spec II). I have a 32 GTS-T hence the pic but I am a little pissed because it had a respray before I owned it and it was gun metal but I do like the blue just wish I could work out what blue it was.
  17. Yeah it comes up in fast that way. Model: KBNR32RXFS7AA Build Date: 03/1994 Color: KH2 (Gun Metal) Interior Color: G Nothing else special to report.
  18. R32 driver here...... Don't know much about the R33's except they have a nice engine upgrade for my 32
  19. There is already a huge topic in the general discussion for getting Vins put through fast but seeing as though I am here now here it was I get. R33 GTS-T Model Number: GGKBRTFR33VDA-ALCC Built:10/1996 Engine: RB25DET Transmission: 5 speed manual Random Info; Hicas, 2wd, Sonic Silver (Paint). I think its a series 1 M-Spec but don't quote me on that because it comes back with GTS25TM1
  20. according to workshop manual your pressure should go up as the revs go up which somebody pointed out before. I cant remember the correct RPM but its 2, 4, 6.
  21. Spotted a white new GTR on my way to work on the M3 today. I work out at the PA hospital so it was headed mostly that direction. Personalised plates which were black on white and the damn the car is sexy. I would post the plates up but just incase they aren't a member I wont.
  22. Ok I am guessing this foil stuff is like a vinyle that covers the whole car. So maybe instead of ringing workshops you could try talking to somebody that does vinyle stickers and stuff for buisness cars and installs them.
  23. I know of Mark Gibbs Panel House which is just off Moss Street near me (Logan City). I can't remember how much it cost me to get my R32 compressor sent up from Nisswreck in melb as I had alot of trouble finding a working R32 one.
  24. I have a turbo R33 A/C compressor sitting here unsure if it is series one or two. I got it for free from a wrecker down here when chasing one for a R32 because he wasn't sure if it would work or not and just so you know the inlets on of the pipes is a think 1-2mm bigger on the R33 for then the R32. The biggest problem for a compressor would be postage as it is heavy as hell.
