strut bars in r33 gtst ?
honey replied to DJ_L3ThAL's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I agree with Silver-Arrow, tyres will make abig difference too but also simple things like a good wheel alighnment will do wonders aswell. Remember guys, it all works as a package as everything is interconnected in some form or another. Really swaybars and strutbars together will make a noticeable difference as swaybars stop your body roll and stabilises the car around the corner but strut bars stop the flexing between your strut tops when conering hard and stops your wheel alighnment from going out of whack. you will also notice that the front end will not understeer as much with a front strut bar. Springs and shocks will control your damper and rebound and keep your car stuck on the road instead of bouncing around the place. if you want more feel then also change some of your factory rubber bushes to nothalane ones. Get your selves hooked up with a good suspension specialist and they should be able to take you through step by step on good and worthwhile upgrades while not going overboard in one area. Sorry for the long post but i seem to see that alot of people are askin the same questions over and over again. -
Pillow ball upper mounts
honey replied to BHDave's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
there prety easy to install and make sure you get the ones to suit your particular car. Just makes adjusting camber alot easier and quicker so like if you go to a track day can have extra egative camber within 5 mins. you can mark them so you know where to adjust them to for street use again later. -
that's right bro, unless they feel really bad then just keep them. All comes down to how comfortable you feel with the tyres.

Really good JimX. Wet or Dry, i have found these tyres extremly good. Even in the wet they have the same amount of feedback as in the dry. Heaps better then the FK451. Only down side is that they might wear abit qiuk due to it being a softer compound but that's the price you pay for having good tyres.

tyre review..what's the go for hard street use?
honey replied to sebaz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Try some Falken ST115. These tyres have been the best for me so far with great grip in the dry and the wet and also seem really good on track days aswell. Get heaps of feedback from them and you know exactly when your on the limit and when it's gonna break loose. I paid $240 a piece for 235/45/17 and so far they are wearing great, have minamal road noise and have found that they handle better then the FK451. Not too sure on the other brands though. -
There not too bad for the price but seing as they have heaps of tread left then why not just use them up first and then upgrade to sumthin better later. It all comes down to what driving sytle you have and if your just gonna use them for the street or ocassional track day aswell.
-
Well Fk451 are not too bad but have you ever thought about the ST115s? These are basically street Azenis rubber that have a soft compound but are great at giving you feedback and stick really good too. There not that much more then the FK451 but are heaps better when it comes to handeling and they have very little tyre noise too. Hope that helps mate.

R33 suspension Whiteline Kit ?
honey replied to Burns's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah man, go the full whiteline kit! It has everything from springs, shocks, swaybars and bushes. It's goos cause they do alot of R&D on the kit and make it to suit Australian conditions so you get good quality ride and comfort but handeling aswell. -
rebuilding jap suspension
honey replied to hippy's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well actually it depends on what shock you have?? I knoe for sure that Teins are harder to rebuild and cost more as they don't have a seperate strut inside the body, it's like all one piece. Some others like Cusco are rebuildable or easily replaced with other struts. Basically the easiest way to find out is to have a suspension specialist take your shocks apart, that way they can see if it's like rebuildable or nor cause it;s hard to see unless tey taks it apart. -
suspension, what to go for if i do it?
honey replied to DJ_L3ThAL's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Have you guys ever thought about upgrading your swaybars asw ell?? As a bang for you buck, these alone will make your car handle better then just lowered springs and shocks. Some of you will bw saying like WTF? It's true as whiteline have done heaps of R&D on these. Springs and shocks are good but really need to work as a package with your swaybars aswell as these decrease your body roll and make the car sit flatter around the corner. DJ_L3thal, if your happy with how your car launches and all, consider doing the swaybars first or all at the same time. -
?????? just the standard ones that are in excellent condition. Didn't think that the tie rod ends where replaceable with nolathane? Or are you talking about the lower control arm inner bushes or the Radius rod bushes???
-
excellent condition, bought them off JMS a little over 2 months ago and never got around to putting them on. Paid $35 each for them.
