  1. I have tried a search and am wondering if anyone has imported or bought a Skyline that is not registerable for track use/drift use? I am interested in buying a car for track use and the Skyline seems like a good option. Could someone please give me a rough idea cost wise what a non registerable R32 GTS-T would be worth? Also could someone steer me in the right direction in terms of a website or company that imports non registerable cars. Thanks
  2. I have been building an R34 GT-R V Spec II lately. It is the first model I have built for about 8 years! I forgot how fiddly and annoying it can be! There are some nice looking models there fellas, good work.
  3. Cool. How often are these trackdays organised? I know of some people (including me) that are dying to get onto a racetrack and have a thrash ever since AIR has been shut down indefinately. Also who is it organised by and what are the costs and are there any restrictions what type of vehicles can get onto the track? Cheers
  4. That is also a fair point. If the politicians are so concerned about pollution, how come they have to be driven around in Caprices and LTDs? Big inefficient fuel guzzlers that often only have the politician and the driver on board! Not bad is it!
  5. Since when were politicians ever in touch with society anyway? EXACTLY. I sold my XR6 Turbo because I was (and still am) saving for a house. So you can't really step down from an XR6T and just be happy driving a non performance car, especially when you are a car enthusiast! So a cheap alternative is a Skyline, that way I can have both, a nice sports car and a house!
  6. Hrmmmm... I think this is a case of the 'hype' that is attached to the Skyline name coming to bite it on its arse again.. I would not call an R33/32 GTS-T a 'powerful' car considering a BF Falcon family car makes more power standard.. But, seeing as some Skylines are ***TURBO*** they are automatically classed as powerful and the main cause of the road toll. (What is it about the evil 'turbo' word that makes insurance companies/police/politicians kick up a fuss?) For example I remember when the FPV F6 Typhoon was released it was dubbed a 'dangerous supercar' because it had a 'huge' 270kw of power. Even though HSV sell 297kw V8's and FPV also have 290kw V8's! Maybe someone should send Mr. Lucas an email alerting him to the fact that most Aussie family cars (not to mention the FPV/HSV range, of which the Typhoon has run a 12.9 stock at the drags) are more powerful than standard Skylines!
  7. I was wondering what models of Skylines got the HICAS 4 wheel steer system? I did a search but only managed to confuse myself even more. Did all models of GTS-T's get HICAS? I am particularly interested if the R33 or R32 GTS-T's got HICAS. Also, from doing the search I read that HICAS seems to cause a lot of issues, is it really worth having? Thanks.
  8. I saw a black R34 GT-R the other day driving down near the Parade at Norwood. It's funny how you can spot it's a GT-R and not a GT-T a mile away, the front end just looks so good.
  9. Great looking engine bay mate, probably one of the best I have seen to be honest. Best of luck trying to get the power down to the road!
  10. Interesting option, but do different states have different rules regarding compliance and what is and isn't legal? For example, if I bought a car that was complied in VIC could it be possible that it is infact illegal in SA due to different laws? I am new to all these rules and regulations so please correct me if I am wrong.. Cheers for the link though!
  11. I was riding with ohcheap and we had some MAF sensor issues and then got seperated from the rest of the group, we had fun in the hills none the less..
  12. It sounds like every other car yard around then. When I bought my new XR6T I had the 3 year factory warranty on it, but even when I had a few problems they would still try and stuff me around. I had a solenoid go in the gearbox and they said they had the parts waiting for me, so I dropped the car off and picked it up later, but within 50m the problem was back. Turns out they didn't even try to fix it.. They then told me that I needed to leave the car overnight, but there were no loan cars available! As soon as I asked to speak with whoever was running the show I was driving home in a 5 speed Focus loan car.. (and yes it did its fair share of corkscrew/gorge road runs in the day I had it!)
  13. Thanks for the replies, I have noticed the cars that Redline sell have very clean interiors and they do seem to buy more of the cleaner looking cars, but it seems that you pay a few grand more for the pleasure. It's tough to decide what to do in terms of buying private or from a dealer. Buying private is a bit cheaper sometimes but you don't know if you are buying someone else's problems, especially with an import. I am kind of considering doing something stupid and dipping into my house deposit fund and lashing out for an R34 GT-T, but I am not sure if it is worth it!
  14. I went past Redline (on North East Road) the other day and while they had some really clean and non modified cars there they seemed to be a little expensive. Has anyone dealt with or bought any cars from these guys? Is it worth paying extra for a non modified car? (Knowing that it may have been returned back to 'stock') I also went past Sinergy and they also had some nice Skylines, most were modified but a lot cheaper than at Redline. Has anyone dealt with this yard either? Also could you please reccomend any other yards? I don't really know who else sells them? Cheers. I am thinking of getting either a GT-R or RZ Supra
