can anyone confirm if the neo do indeed have larger exhaust ports/valves? Are they bigger the the rb26? Im getting the performance springs installed along with tomei 260 cams. Is it the rpm or hp that start to cause issues with aftermarket springs? It has rb30 bottom end, 8k rpm limit and t04z with 2bar. And spoolup can you confirm what material is used for the NEO lifters?
cheers
it has rb30 bottom end with a t04z with 1.00 a/r, valve springs, guides, port & polish, plenum etc...I did the reasearch and asked questions. Lift bigger then 9.3 will not fit a NEO head. Pon 260 are the closet. Rev will be set at 8k rpm.
yes exactly. do it right the first time. I was aware that tomei do lifters although i am not too sure any are avaliable for NEO? I am using poncams 260.
buying a rb26 head has been suggested although many of my parts are for the NEO head. Is there any reason why nissan only gave it 12 steel and not all of them? I am concerned about reliablity issues pushing big power.
really huh? Sounds major....The head is getting sent to enginering once my cams arrive. i hope there is a possible way around it and not have cost sky rocket at the same time. Is there anything even wrong with aluminum lifters anyway? It has a rb30 bottom end reving to 8k rpm max although power goal is 650rwhp...
cheers
Yes that is what i have been told and i hope that is correct becasue i have just purchased a set for $395. On another note there was a misunderstanding between the workshop. NEO do have 24 solid lifters although 12 are steel and the other 12 are aluminium and the inlet and exhaust are different . My goal is to combine the other spare 12 steel onto the same head. What modifications is neccasary??? eg: inlet lifters into exhaust and vice versa?
thats what i thought. Why the hell would nissan only use 12 solid lifters for!? Now that im using GTR cams, is there anything needed to be modified, changed on them?
i was told from my workshop that the NEO head has only 12 solid lifters. I have a spare NEO head and was also told that abit of cost is involved in getting the spare 12 on.
engine in process of getting built with t04z and power target of 650rwhp. I already got hks ssqv...if i was to run the turbo at 2bar, would i need an extra bov? Or should i go for something like the tial bov?
cheers
will their twin plates handle the torque a rb30 produces? it has a neo head, t04z and aiming for 650rwhp. I know its rated 1000hp but its the torque that kills them
im abit concerned about how my box will cope with my 25/30 combo using a t04z. I have heard from a worshop that one of their cars smashed a os triple plate and even the ppg gearset!!!! And that was with a gt35r. Its the torque that the rb30 produces that kills boxs and not so much the power. It will never see track, rare occasional drag strips, 90% low bst and onli setup high for dynos. What power is acceptable?? kinda hoping 650rwhp
i just got myself a complete set of r33 gtr engine covers for my NEO. fingers crossed they bolt up although ive been told they do. Im using R34 gtr cams so gone is the vvt solenoid. Im pretty sure the cas bolt pattern is the same justed concerned the R34 NEO cas key is diff from r34 gtr!!! If its not and i change to a GTR cas i will not have any issues with the NEO ecu?
