  2. I have been told that it is possible to use GTR cams on a NEO. Similar solid lifters although can not use any lift higher then approx 9.5mm. Im planing to go down this route couple with adj cam gears. May sound like a silly question but could i then use the RB26 clear cam cover?

  4. I went and checked out a workshop today. They had this sick R34 GTT with a R33 greddy plenum installed. I am doing the same thing as well. But they told me that theres abit of mucking around involed to get the unit to fit. Apparently some R33 bits and pieces are needed and it took around 2.5 days to install! Dam....and I heard from a few guys on there that is was a easy fit??? Also I have a GT2835 pros and have a wet nos kit to be installed. Wanna shoot 100hp jet into my engine...Forged of course I was also told by them that I would need a large external wastegate? To much gass flow and the internal would not be able to cope? And also that my exhaust a/r may be to small? I have the bigger version .87. Would I then need to weild it shut and chuck a external on...I was thinking directly on the turine housing as I've seen it done before. Any comments feedback appreciated
  5. yep top racing i think it is!!! They are always first to be mentioned... Any idea as to the labour cost to rebuild my engine? Just a rough ball park for me to work with.. This includes fully prep and balanced bottom end.

  7. nah kit dnt include the mainfold....But everything else to bolt it up nice a hassel free..Yeh looks like Im gona have to extrude and ceramic coat the standard...pitty one one in perth does it Ive seen a before and after one done...looks like a decent amount of extra volume is gained......power wises...who knows!!!! btw any1 know sum1 running the hks gt2835 with the .87 a/r? I purchased the .87 a/r with the turbinless kit to suit...wondering what power variation bewteen the two?
  8. skeptical about the stainless ones....hearding about them cracking...and most dont even fit properly...Gave 6boost a call and they said impossible to make one in standard position with decent runners etc....Any1 know of any decent gains made from honing it?
  9. that suxs....Ive bn told by many that the greedy duznt fit aswell but then research here and found out from afew ppl that they actually do!
  10. I know cost compared to performance makes it not a worth while investment...but its just purely cosmetic. I rather get this one over the greedy as it comes already polished and fits the standard TB. Along with shorter piping and polished rocket covers...shud look awesome. Just would like to c if it wud fit b4 i got out and order it. Also would the HKS fuel rail take my nismo 480cc injectors? this is also for looks
  11. I wish i could get my car back on the road...Funny thing is that he wont give my car parts back until i pay his invoice of $3400! For a fuel pump kit, drop in injectors and cam install? HELL NO! Belive me i just want it back fixed....compensated or not!
  12. Whats the chances if i drove it before hand 100% perfect? Very odd that it wud happen to pop out when he was installing cams though huh? All other valve seats are fine and wudnt there be more chance of it falling out while the car was driven?
  13. I got the DOCEP to come out and inspect my car. All other valves and valve seats are fine, head is perfect and no sign of detonation. Timing was set correct otherwise all exhuast valves wud of been bent. He came to the conclusion that a valve seat had popped out!?....based on wot the mechanic suggested. They just dont pop out do they? Anyone heard of this happing? Its all theory. Argument is that only one valve snapped. Is there any other way that would cause only one valve to snap? Maybe the valve cap wasnt sitting down corretly? Any possible way that the rocker may have jammed? I need help please!!!!
  14. There are indeed two dents...but looks like it was made from the broken valve geting smashed up aganist the head. The second valve is fine and from what i could tell not even bent. Thats where im alittle confused..Why only one valve was snapped instead of two?? Get this. The dick wont give me back my head until i pay him for the " work " his done!? What a prick huh? So cant post pics of the head just yet
  15. Head is taken off already. I just went and had a look at the piston. There is indeed dents in two places on the piston but it seems like their were caused from the piston smashing the broken valve up aganist the head. I will post pics of head and piston soon. What im confused is that he heard a crack sound when bolting cams down. He apparently backed off and double checked that timing and everything else was fine then proceeded. Remember the engine never got put back together to be started, just cranked over only. And i was there and could hear a cracking sound every rotation or so. So the valve wasnt snap then yet. But the next day when he went to do a compression test to see if it bent, thats when it crunched.

  17. it has tomei poncams 260. No other valve train was installed.The head has been damaged to the point that there is not much of a seat left to even begin to tell if it was cracked. Damaged was on cylinder 6. If it was cracked wouldnt i be able to tell by the cylinder missing?
  18. yes it was the exhaust valve im pretty sure. He heard a crack while bolting down the cams. Im assuming this was because the valve was seating ontop of a piston? Im alittle confused as to why only one valve snaped thou. If indeed the was timing off, wudnt more then one valve break/bend?
  19. Also forgot to mention that he heard my car " leans poping " when i was driving down the street. But isn't that just miss firing? It's only boost to .8 bar
  20. Had a punch up with my mechanic over the weekend. Unfortunately we are no longer friends either. He still maintains that whilst installing cams, he was not responsiable for snapping a valve causing for a engine rebuild. He has said that my car had a crack valve seat prior which caused the valve to snap, reason being was because my car was leaning/detonation. My R34 has only done 50k kms. It was runing 100% perfect before. It has a avc-r and intercooler. I was under the impression that skylines rolled out of factory rich. Also that the factory boost cut prevents overboosting and therefore leaning. My only option is to take this matter to a civil court. Could anyone please give me a reason as to how he snapped the valve or what casued it to snap? Am i correct about the boost cut and that they are rich from factory? I may need to talk to some workshops and get written statments to verify before i go to court. Any help appreciated
  21. any1 extrude honed the inlet runners? Mite be a good mod to do at the same time as the manifold
  22. 6boost manifolds do come in low mount. Only thing is that they bolt the turbo not exactly in standard postion. Instead the turbo flange faces down rather then out 90 degree to the block. Once again no good with turbo kits. Any idea whats need/modifed to suit hks gt2835 kit?
  23. Now that the hks is not a option....Would a standard manifold thats been extrude honed produce the same power if not better then the 6boost ones? Im from WA and havent heard of any companies here that can extrude mine. Cbf sending it over east. Rather just order a 6boost one.

  25. Spoke to the supplier of the HKs manifold. They actually do mount the turbo lower and on a slightly different angle then stock. In the case where im using a HKS GT2835 and turbinless kit...its pointless. Longer oil and water lines need to b made New dump pipe Modify or Make a new intake pipe Block off the external wastegate provision or Use an external gate and disconnect the internal gate. That sucks!
