Saturday was a great day out. Big thanks to Ash and the committee for organising a brilliant location. Hope we get it again next year. All the photos posted look awesome, and it was good to catch up with some old and new faces too.

Its not really attached by anything. Like I said it's just a rubber-like tube around the metal handbrake itself. I suppose when they first put it on it was greased or something to make it slide on, but I found it very difficult to get it off without cutting it. Someone else might have a better idea. I replaced mine with an aftermarket one anyway, so I wasn't bothered.

Are you replacing it with a aftermarket grip, like a momo one or something? I just cut mine in half. All it is a rubber like tube covered in leather. In the middle of the tube is the actual handbrke lever itself.

You may be able to get the front bar plastic welded, if your looking at keeping the standard bar. I had damage almost identical to my car ages ago but on the driver side. Check the reo (metal bar behind the front bar) as well, to see if it's damaged. All the best with it.

I did this conversion recently, and it fits perfect. The plug is the same only longer. The only mod really is the rubber lining that sits between your boot and wing needs to trimmed abit at the end, cos the series one wing is slightly wider. Hope that helps.
