ehm, the 'fully stock bro' transmission in any recent(ish) ss is a tremec t56, basically its a tank of a gearbox, capable of handling stupendous torque loads, everything is oversized and beefed up in a t56, takes a left arm made of iron to shift though. they make rb25 transmissions look like theyre made of glass. why do you think big power drag skylines run after market gearsets or even built autos and hollingers? because the stock gear set will shit the bed when it tries (in vain) to introduce nigh on 700hp to the pavement through a set of grippy tyres... and youve gotta remember, the load on a cars driveline on a dyno is pretty minimal, and strain is built gradually, start in second gear, slip into 4th at 60km/h, then into WOT. very easy on a driveline compared to slipping the clutch at 4000rpm on slicks. close, see above, tremec t56, used in dodge vipers, z06's, ss commodores, and im reasonably sure turbo falcons use them also. big heavy f**kin boxes, but nigh on unbreakable.

+ dont forget to install a scatter shield.

drag racing (and driving around in circles) is what americans do, its no wonder they can get n/a cars to put down good numbers. theyve also had more money invested into them than most people will spend on a house.

cara, if youre spending this huge amount of money on power, dont cheap out on suspension. bilstein PSS9 coilovers, whiteline blade adjustable swaybars, adjustable camber, castor, toe, and traction arms, etc etc. you want 800hp, but wanna put down through cheap suspensions... why?

yeah, theyve got some fairly freakin awesome gear lying around, was heaps tempted to buy sonar headlights, new wheels, and a bunch of random shit when i was there the other day, gonna head back down in the next few weeks and buy some rear pods and castor arms though, might even see what they can do about getting me a front lip in their next container...

RUF CTR Yellowbird, for whenever i feel like dying a horrific firey death. EVO X MR, built engine, sachs coils, adjustable everything, SSR type F 18 x 10 inch wheels on advan neova rubber, black. My s14, plus another $40k... BMW 850i 6 speed. Red, bilsteins, alpina wheels. etc etc etc...

so, im actually getting back into watching this, its actually interesting now! awesome. last time i watched it they were still running v10's, full aero, and it was about as exciting as watching paint dry, now its sorta fun...
