hello all knowledgeable gods of the turbo world. now that we've got that out the way... i own an s14 200sx. and its needs a new turbo. been advised to look towards the GT28R/28RS models. but being fairly new to turbos (owned a V8 'yota before I came to my senses and bought a nissan), i really dont know where to start. so im just looking for some advice in regards to the pros and cons of each turbo, and any personal experiences with either. so yeah, thanks in advance. dave.

so, turbo people, looking at getting a new turbo for the s14, as the stocker is one its way out. not thinking anything massive, got it down to a garrett GT28R or GT28RS, just wondering if anyone here has any experience with them? ill probably end up browsing the forced induction forum soon, just seeing if theres anyone here whos used either first.

dad decided to 'check the coolant level' for me before i left for vili's, didnt put the rad cap back on properly, and with the temp gauge reading between 1/2 and 3/4 as normal, i didnt realise the temp increase, got to the nissan dealer just before north adelaide, and smoke and steam started pouring out of the bonnet, and the engine died. cracked head me thinks.

broke down on the way there. fail.

that sucks dude. i blew the engine in my daily on the way to work. dad decided he'd check the coolant before i left (why, i have no idea), and he didnt put the rad cap back on properly. and because the the temp gauge reads anything between half and 3/4 normally, didnt notice the temp going up, and then bang, epic amounts of smoke out from under the hood, on main north road, in the middle of peak hour. fail. was planning on buying a gt28rs soon, now it seems ill be fixing the magna instead. and in reply to james' post in cara's announcement thread, they cant include me, car and whoring/pimping skills are simply far too great to be held in one show. and about that epic whoring... yup, was stupid, was expecting a warn, but its out of my system.

im not gonna defend that thread. even i thought it was stupid. but it was also fair lol worthy.

and on that note. i think i might get some sleep.
