  1. yeah, that shits me off pretty hardcore too. and the map packs arent particularly cheap either, what is it, roughly $25 for a map pack? with at least 2 of those maps coming from mw1? why should i be paying for content ive already paid for and should already have access to?
  2. any performance workshop can have a look around for you. get a dyno run, leak down, and compression test, that should be about the $200 mark, and will give you a good indication of the health of your engine. for everything else, just take it to pedders and get them to do one of their safety checks, i think that costs 14 bones or something.
  3. found it. its a pretty epic read, 64 pages, but yeah, shits awesome. car was purchased as a one make series race car, bunch of shit happens, dude gets bored and starts tinkering, and the result is awesome. and just to show how long its been since ive read that thread, theyre now racing a genesis. rad.
  4. ill see if i can find the thread that followed the development of the car. pretty interesting read.
  5. a vid for andrew... ... and for the awesome noise that car makes.
  6. lol. when i start whinging, ill stop. kbai.

  8. coupe? fair sure its built if its the one im thinking.
  9. lol. did that. still useless. id rather shoot some shit. shame thats all members only.
  10. i was thinking about it, but nah. my handbrake sucks pretty hard, makes motorkhana sorta difficult.
  11. that car was cooler when it was all mismatched and bunky.
  12. its a skill. bingo. shit stirring is preferred pastime of mine.
  13. ill keep and ear to the ground, still know a few people, ill let you know if anything turns up. its gawler. everyones dodgy, and everyone owns a shed.
  14. oem nissan > 3rd party. pretty simple.
  15. but it doesnt have much power. that makes it safe in the eyes of joe public.
  16. jah. i was rather suprised. i stood there with a stupid look on my face admiring it for a while before my mind went 'oi, idiot, take a f**kin photo'.
  17. something a little different, spotted a black f360 with heavily tinted windows, and white te37's on at the intersection of churchill and regency about 10ish am.. by the time i had my camera out of my bag, it was well and truly gone.
  18. ugh. bingo. at the end of the day, i figured having my road test where i did (zero pedestrian traffic, and very rarely any vehicular traffic) was a pretty safe bet. my biggest mistake that day was not doing a 'dry run' like i normally would to scope for cameras and such. with that, instant dismissal for 6 months with no right to appeal. as for my history, well, ive never been brainf**ked enough to even consider something anywhere near as stupid as driving intox'd, but ive received 1 red light fine for failing to stop at an amber, a cat 2 speeding fine, a cat 1 speeding fine, and a further cat 2 that i took on the chin for a mate. which earned me another 4 months on top of the initial 6. gonna start looking into my right to appeal that. and yeah, end of the day, the way i see it, while they might grant me an exemption for already owning the vehicle, i sincerely doubt ill be permitted to buy another 'performance' car (my old celsior isnt my idea of performance) until i hit 25. and its doubly unfortunate that my experience (advanced and hp john bowe days, + a couple private days) doesnt count for shit. its made even worse for me because i learned recently that a bloke i know has lost his licence for the 2nd time in 5 years, all his offences have been cat 3's, hes appealing, and he'll be back on the road before hes even felt the effect of his lack of licence, same as last time. dude drives like a moron, cant control his car in the wet or in an emergency to save his life, and has less regards for the rules than anyone ive ever met. yeah... def seems fair to me.
  19. im curious as to which category i fall under pete. ive made a few mistakes. generally in my daily while commuting to and from work at holy-f**k-thats-early o'clock in the morning. and one in the 200 thats coming around to kick me fairly hard again with these new laws coming through. guess that makes me less than a genuine enthusiast? and i didnt have my celsior until i was on my fulls. but i wont be able to buy another one for a few years when i do get my licence back.
  20. 50mm f/1.8? that'll quickly become your favourite lens.
  21. so if you keep your motor under 6500, its not thrashing? i can generate some pretty serious engine load under 6500. dont need to be brushing the red every gear to hurt something. and because your motor has solid compression, and solid results on a leak down, and youve maintained it well for a portion of its life, itll reliably put down nigh on 300kw? without any risk of failure? its had 15 years of being treated like a gtr. cars dont age like people, theyre not in their prime when theyre 20. theyre getting pretty tired at 20. an "apparently" (im with luke, until nissan/autech/etc come out and say, i dont believe it) n1 equivalent block is more resistant to throwing a leg outta bed because of the wall thickness? ive seen high performance (1000hp+) marine engines lose rods. and those blocks are anything but lightweight. and even if you do avoid that, bearing failure, oil pump failure, etc, isnt unheard of.
  22. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  23. im pretty boned. dont get my licence back til november, which puts me on the new system. oh joy of joys. after owning a v8 and a turbo 4, without crashing and dying (like some people even here seem to expect me to do because of my age and 'inexperience'), ill be thrown back behind the wheel of an econobox until i turn 25 and am apparently responsible enough to drive something bigger again. seems alot like the drinking age, when im 1 day away from being 18, im too young and immature, the very next day, i can go out and get completely shit faced with the blessings of the powers that be. same thing here, i can be a day shy of 25 and be too irresponsible, and too inexperienced to drive the cars i have up until now, the very next day, i can go nuts. i drive better than the majority of people i see on the road, i indicate, i maintain speed, i dont cut people off, im capable of braking in an emergency without f**king up, im capable of maneuvering my car in an emergency without f**king something up, blah blah blah, etc etc etc. and thanks to an admittedly stupid mistake, that and my 6 years on the road doesnt count for anything now. rad.
  24. if you have time to stop, and continue through an amber anyway, it attracts the same penalty as running a red. whoops.
  25. yeah... not a skyline. close to your budget though.
