  1. googles an awesome thing. http://gti-vr6.net/library/engine/Schrick_...eldiameters.htm assume standard is a 225/50 on 16 x 8 +38 wheel, then punch in the details of the wheel and tyre combination youre looking at, and voila, tells you everything. i punched in a new wheel and tyre combo of 18 x 9 +40 with a 255/35 and the effect on the track is a little over 2 inches.
  2. scratch that. my maths is off. cant really think of anything in a 9 that would be legal.
  3. and im working until 8. im still going to get there.
  4. oh, is that how it works? funny. adr's say track increase. offset effects track. example, take standard 32 gtr wheels, and chuck a 15mm bolt on spacer behind each wheel, and then throw the wheels back on. youve changed the wheel track by 30mm on the axle, effectively increasing your track by 4mm above the legally permitted limit. you want legal, keep the wheels, suspension, and tyres as standard. you havent actually looked at my wheel and tyre combo have you? while im running a stretched rear (215/45 on a 9), my fronts are straight sidewall (225/45 on an 8)
  5. hate to tell you, but even a 9 +15 will technically be illegal. hell, even a 9 +30 is 20mm too wide per side.
  6. unfortunately the only 2 colour options i can find are bronze and chrome (which has a fair premium thrown on top), but powder coating is hella cheap. im looking at 17 x 9.5 +15, but they do come in 18 x 9.5 +15/23, and 18 x 9 +30.
  7. you know the widths and offsets of your wheels? easiest/fastest way to check. if not, bust out the measuring tape and measure between the centre line of the tyres.
  8. id say theyre sufficiently suitable. lol.
  9. call wheeljerx/adelaide tyrepower/adelaide radial/jap import spares/adelaide jap and see if theyve got a set of passable stockies they can loan you.
  10. wont pass. your 9 +15's bump out the track by an additional 36mm per side over standard. the maximum amount permitted by adr's is about 13mm per side (or, approx 26mm per axle, as you said).
  11. lol, shit, $300? mine cost like $200. also, i hate people. was pretty sold on xt7's, then one of the guys on the 31 club filled my brain with POISON! ... in the form of cst hyper zero's.
  12. so i figured seeing as ive owned this thing for a little over 12 months now, and have been on sau since well before i owned a car, i figured it was about time i posted my build. first off, a quick history lesson. by the end of 2007 i was getting sick and tired of driving around in my parents magna, so i started hunting for something decent, i soon stumbled upon a toyota celsior, and in january of '08, i bought it. its was a pretty cool rig for a first car. bought with the exhaust, wheels, and a field dhc. replaced the exhaust not long after with something that was half decent, 20% tint all round, and a suitably large and loud stereo. sounded like world war 3 with the straight through exhaust, rolled through defect and rbt stations without a second glance, and the ability to drop the arse and lift the nose at the press of a button never ceased to make me grin. however, it was a 20 year old, so there was a lot of shit going wrong with it, decided to sell it late in '08, and sold it to the first guy that came to have a look at it. about a month later, a bloke i used to work with gave me a call telling me about a clean s14a he'd just got in at the car yard he was then working at, i went down to check it out that day, was told it had already been sold to another yard, so i gave them my card and played the waiting game. about an hour later i got a call from the new yard asking me if i wanted to pop round the next day to check it out. so i woke up bright and early the next day, and went and had a look. on the first drive, 2 things became immediately apparent, there was a bad exhaust leak developing somewhere, and the rear muffler had simple been thrown on with the pipework bent to suit it. but aside from that, it was mint, in incredible condition for its age and mileage, so i left a deposit, and came back the following week to pick it up. (stock photo, i didnt take any pics when i picked it up). dead stocker save for some 33% tint and a very cheap headunit that was at best temperamental. had 152,000 on the clock (as of now, has 162,000), and a service history dating back to the 100,000km mark, it was pretty obvious that this thing had been babied for the majority of its life. unfortunately it was the base model, so it didnt have the nissan lip kit, or the fog lights, but i wasnt complaining. and this is how it looks now; Interior & Electronics; Clarion DB286USB HeadUnit Clarion SRG1620R 2 ways (parcel shelf) Clarion SRQ1620S Components (doors) NISMO Gearknob (+ dildo shifter for shits and giggles) JDM S2 stereo, climate, and gear surrounds. 13. nope. new rules say its within so many mm of standard rolling diameter. however, youre still only permitted a 1 inch increase in track per axle (about 12.5mm per side).
  14. haha. might have to take you up one that.
  15. hmmm... cst hyper zero's...
  16. not much a fan of staggered diameter. meh, bit of guard loving for 9.5's could be alright i guess. lol.
  17. a 225 would have the tiniest bit of stretch on an 8.5, 255 on an 8.5 and you could drive into curbs to your hearts content without guttering a wheel itd be that ballooned.
  18. lol. dont like my chances of fitting that under my guards. this is a 10 +12 on the front; and rear; looks good, but utterly useless. rear guards were sitting properly on the tyre, i had to jack it up to get the card in there. ill probably go for 9 +15 all round, gives me an extra 10mm or so of clearance all round to play with the alignment (ie, less camber)
  19. h'ok people. im doing a shoot with a mate tomorrow (as in, monday), were thinking of something industrial, so i need ideas/locations of abandoned/disused industrial sites or similiar that are relatively easy to access and mostly free from security. the only ones i can think of are either long gone, overused, or just plain boring. so, anyone?
  20. compared to an rb25, yes. compared to an rb20... no. the only thing the rb20 has going for it over the sr is the ability to sit on limiter all day*... but thats really only because you practically have to drive them on limiter. sr you can just sit in the thick of the midrange and tear away happily. *granted, the rb also sounds somewhat less shit.
  21. same. if all goes well, the 200 will have some new wheels in the new year. also, much lols;
  22. slightly tempted by these;
  23. lol. i suck with the introducing. whoops.
  24. lol. i think i yelled you two looked cute together. dunno, i yelled a lot of shit.
  25. the magna is now sapol approved!
