Hey everyone, after many weeks of stressing whether or not I should do it I came to the conclusion it would be best for me and the car to part. Main reason is new job is in St. Leonards so train is the only option, the car has been sitting collecting dust when i finally finish all my hard work with it. Another reason is because im big on the beach and really need a beach beast to go camping and beach driving with. This car was featured in the SAU Autosalon display, it is an excellent example of a R33 with sensible yet noticeable modifications. It drives like an absolute dream and is very quick. I have owned the car for a bit over a year, since then i've only put about 11000 or 12000kms on it. Never EVER had a problem with this car you will be amazed its a 1993 make. Car is in immaculate condition you need to see to believe. Car has been garaged every night unless out at my gf's. I have receipts for EVERYTHING done to this car. Also comes with the plates FR-33-SM (not shown in pics) OTHER POINTS ABOUT THE CAR: * Has slight damage on rear bar from tapping a brick wall (this is what happens when mum drives your car). Will be speaking to my mate who will repair this. * Car has July 2008 Registration DETAILS: 1993 Nissan Skyline GTS25T with 101,000kms on the clock (major 100,000km server performed 12,000kms ago when I bought it). Factory paint colour MODIFICATIONS: 3" Xforce Turbo back exhaust JustJap FMIC Splitfire Coils Bosch 023 fuel pump Apexi POD with heat box (nice and legal) (still have the original box if needed) GFB Mach1 BOV (got the factory bov handy) NGK Iridiums Gates Heavy Duty Timing Belt Bleed valve running 11psi (i know dont shoot me. never got around to getting a proper electronic one) ECU remap performed by Toshi from this forum * All engine work and seats were done by Greg at Autosport, Kirawee. last dyno run was 174rwkw without the remap and car was suffering from boost cuts. Now no more boost cut and ALOT more power from the remap. EXTERIOR: GTR frontbar GTR grill 400R side skirts 400R rear pods 400R rear wing Jetspeed eyelids 19" MATRIX rims (only 6 months old great tread) INTERIOR: $3000 worth of SONY audio gear all under warranty (i'll keep speakers in car but will take the head unit out, cost me $800 new) JustJap bucket seats TV screen in one of the DIN's (currently used for the carputer) Probably the cleanest interior you'll ever see. the dash looks brand new. * All audio and video gear was installed by Cronulla Car Sound PHOTOS: Please note that most of these photos were taken BEFORE i got the new grill. The first AutoSalon picture shows the new grill. Will take some pictures on the interior in day light. PRICE: Will consider offers. Not sure on the price however I am in no rush to sell. Still awaiting to find my beach / camping beast. Very reluctant sale but someone will enjoy this car as much as I did and hopefully go further with it.

Train Delays - North Shore, Western & Northern Lines
NicsR33 replied to Moanie's topic in New South Wales
i was. left work at 3pm at St. Leonards, told there was no trains and buses. went back to work, left at 4 finally there was a train. it crawled to North Sydney were we were made to walk to Wynard and im the biggest pu55y when it comes to heights . didn't get home till 7:30 worst part is that other buses wouldn't except our Cityrail ticket to get into the city. -
im getting CD quality. its all about the head deck. my SONY head unit cost $800 and gets works wonders on the AUX inputs. the laptop connection to the head deck is just a simple RCA to 3.5mm cable.

w00t w00t spotted!!! *does a dance* except i honestly can't remember driving last tuesday we1rd??? spotted alot of skyliners today at the show-n-shine!!! that orange FTO had the best paint / rims combination ive never seen!
-
ceedub your setup looks siick! wish i had the know-how to do what you did. Rekin yeh thats exactly it! video to AV1, Audio to AUX on head deck. because the compaq is only 11" its got a on/off switch on the side. so i simply told the laptop once it reaches 20% battery to shut down so i dont have to worry about shutting it down when i turn the car off i just let the laptop battery drain a lil. then when i get back in the car its just a matter of reaching under the seat and flicking the on/off switch on the side (i dont need to open the laptop screen or anything).
-
cheers buddy! i think the key to these carputers is patience. i spent over 2 months just keeping an eye out, researching and waiting for parts to arrive. i told myself that if anything happens to this screen ill get a nice motorised vga screen to replace it.

Greetings all. its 10pm and I just finished installing my carputer into the skyline. i successfully made this carputer on a budget of $600 and wished to share my experience on here for others wishing to try out the same thing. Despite everyone having different opinions about what is best, if you are after a basic carputer with plenty of performance whilst maintaining mimimul cost then please continue to read below. I have broken down the list of items in terms of what you WILL need, and what are optional goodies. NEED: Computer, duh! Whilst most ppl will recommend buying those small single din mother boards, etc etc etc. it is not worth it. why? here are the below reasons: PROs - small, powerful and can be consealed nicely. Also allows for all your custom hardware. CONs - WTF do you do with it once ur over the carputer? most parts would become superceeded and its not the prettiest thing to have lying around in your living room as a stand alone computer. another issue is COST. MY ANSWER: LAPTOPS!!!!1 With a laptop you can't go wrong. Manufactures spend millions designing the laptops so you dont need too. They come with all the necessary hardware needed plus they are slim and basically ready to go. not to mention its got an inbuilt battery, so no need for fancy "power supply which puts the computer on hibernate" and all that bs. However the best feature is that they are easily removed and if your over the whole scene just take it out and use it in the house for watever. Laptops are cheap and if you keep ur eyes peeled you will find a good one. For example i managed to get a Compaq 11" n410c for only $250 in perfect working order. only thing needed was an operating system (windows xp ftw) and a 12DC charger. Also would help to have AUX-IN into the back of your head deck for the LINE-OUT of the laptop. ------------- NEED: LCD Screen. PROs Smaller, lighter and clearer than other conventional screens (if using VGA). CONs Expensive, not all are suited to fit within the single dash din. MY ANSWER: Keep a look out! If you are after a touch screen 7" single din screen be prepared to pay around $400 for a no name HK model. Normal non mechanical screens with only a couple of video inputs can go for as little as $100. I managed to buy a 7" LCD screen with 2 video inputs for $90 off eBay in perfect working order. Again depending on what you wish to use will depend on how much clarity you want. If you wanna read small text whilst driving then get a model with VGA, otherwise a standard VIDEO input will do to play movies, etc. dont forget ppl, its only 7" not 32". The other alternative is to get an 8" touch screen and mount it someone where in the car. If it is not a DIN player then it's cheap. 8" touch screen with VGA connection can go for around $200. ------------- NEED: GPS antenna PROs: Pulls teh chiks, plus pays itself off in fuel money saved CONs: Not the easiest of gadgets to setup originally. MY ANSWER: Keep a look out. Try to avoid those HK antennas as they might not be as good. I managed to a HOLUX GPS receiver with a CD containing Aussie maps in Destinator and map monkey for around $70 off eBay. The maps can be downloaded from the net however if it comes with a CD then why not use it. ------------- NEED: 12DC Converter PROs: Powers you up! CONs: Require the cigarette lighter to draw power, which isn't a problem till you wanna use that port to supply power to another object. MY ANSWER: Talk to JayCar about a DC charger that will suit your car. Be warned as not every generic converter will work with some brands. I scored my converter for free off my gf's parents because it never worked on their Dell laptop. These chargers normally set you back around $50 max. Also to hide the cables and also allow your cigarette lighter to be used with something else, why not hardwire the charger to the back of the cigarette lighter? This is what i've done so no cables are visible and you can also use the cig lighter for something else . . . . not smoking though thats bad. ------------- NEED: Fish style mouse PROs: Controls your carputer. Cheap and fun to look at CONs: Takes a little getting used too. If coming from HK may take a couple weeks. MY ANSWER: Have a look on eBay for fish style mouses. they are essentially a normal mouse in the shape of a fish to fit in your hand with a trackball to move the curser. You can pick these up for around $10 And thats basically it. In terms of software this is what you should need: Windows XP. dont bother with the nLite or XPlite version they are more problems then they're worth. if uve been around computers long enough you know how to press the right buttons with XP. my full copy of XP is ready to go in only 40 seconds from a cold boot. just dont install unless stuff like MSN and Office and ull be set. Map Monkey. It's great once its working, takes a lil playing around with but its worth it. Some sort of media player. You can use Windows Media Player otherwise Winamp or Frodo is not bad too. Just depends on what size you want your text to be. INSTALLATION: For those who do not know how to install anything (guilty!) i would highly recommend Cronulla Car Sound, no not in Cronulla actually in Kirawee. Friendly staff and top work too! Dont think you can beat their prices either. more info see: www.cronullacarsound.com.au CONCLUSION Would i have done anything differently? Yes. i wouldn't have bothered with the TV capture card but ill keep it in there anyways. Also kinda wish i got a VGA screen but its not worth the $300 difference. END RESULT

doesn't look good guys. the program got todays and yesterdays forcast down exact!!! i think today it was off by 1degree. Tomorrow (this is dead centre of Granville) says 13^ and storms, followed by Friday 15^ raining. lets just hope that the weekend gets better. -
nice setup Wink. i bought one of those BigW Acer LCD 32" TVs that was some ridiculous price about 2 weeks back. best $690 ive ever spent!!! pitty they were sold out where but Mittagong had to drive through shithole Cambelltown to get there hahaha but so worth it!!!
-
yes, but the lilliput is also over $600. i bought a trackball mouse off eBay for like $12 and that seems to do the job. im building this carputer on a limited budget its gonna cost me $600 up all upcluding laptop, screen, gps, bluetooth, everything basically so this screen seemed fine. its about $20 more expensive than the ones you buy off ebay, i just wanna buy it locally for warranty reasons thats all.
-
yeh, probably wont suit everyone but i got a carputer ready to go just need a screen.

UPDATE: FINISHED, CLOSED, NO MAS, whatever language you speak just be sure to know this has ended. Hey guys, been looking for some time now for screens; mostly on eBay but im not sure if i can trust them, and worst came scenario if something happened it'll have to go back to Hong Kong. I found these Jaycar TFT Screen and they seem to be alrite. I believe they are NOT motorised but it might become an advantage when another model from Hong Kong which is motorized and might stop working after 6 months or so. then u gotta pay for freight back and worth to HK. Looking for 3 other users here, preferably in Sydney just to make it easier in terms of sending them out. If i can get 3 users from SAU we're looking at $196 for each screen. Details: The price being offered: Normally $225, if we get 4 users its $196. The company that is supplying the products for the group buy: Jaycar Where the products can be collected from: Would prefer Sydney buyers, i do not mind organising a meetup to collect the goods. Associated costs for delivery: try to avoid delivery. Where possible, please include a photo of the goods being offered:

ive got a program thats so freaking accurate with its weather forcast. it picked the storm we got here in Sydney, i didn't believe it when i saw the weather forcast for the weekend. anyways i wont know the exact figure till Friday morning but atleast we'll know then and there. to give you an idea, here in Penrith tomorrow it'll be 15degrees, Sunny but not too many clouds and Wednesdays the rain will stop completely with hardly any clouds but it'll be a cold 12 degrees.
