  1. Dino - I take it from that you've been pulled over once or twice
  2. sneak preview They cleaned up rather well, especially given they were 58,000 yen for the set. Up Garage - my new best friend will get some proper pics sorted when the sun shines....when
  3. pics will be done as soon as the weather improves - been raining constantly for 2 solid days - typical vacation weather The wheels aren't really much different to my old ones (17x8) all round with 225/45/ZR17 Bridgestone Potenza RE040's. They'll do until I can get a nice set of LM GT-4's... or maybe some TE37's... then again, Volk GT-C's look pretty nice! Ahh too many wheels to chose from! Just came back from having a full 4 wheel alignment done - rear camber was way out on one side - now been set to -1.24 degrees - does sound like a lot? The tech guy said that was as close to 0 degrees as they could get given I'd had the car lowered.
  4. I'll have to make sure I'm not pulled over then : 80,000 yen for speading! ouch! I'm always really cautious about being pulled over - I dunno, for some reason I feel that police are likely to give a gaijin with a nice (ish) car a hard time, especially since I've been here a while...I can hardly claim I don't know what the cop is saying...
  5. Thanks guys! Justin love the pic LOL Well 28 now...bugger only 2 years to go before I reach my self imposed: "I MUST HAVE A GTR BY THE TIME I'M 30" deadline But, I canna complain. My wife got me a nice set of alloys for me birthday - Work Emotions in white. I've been wanting to upgrade wheels for a long time, but with the arrival on little one and a return trip to the UK this year, funds have been kinda short...plus I can never, ever decide what wheels I want...TE-37's, NISMO LM GT-4's, SSR integral, volk GT-C, the list goes on... I think my wife got sick of me debating! The works were going cheap, they were the right size, they had decent tyres and they were white. I know, I know - white is major pain in the a$$ to keep clean... ... but then again, who ever said looking good was easy
  6. Here's what some of the police in Japan drive However most drive sedate sedans, Toyota Crowns and the like. In the bigger cities you'll see some police minicars and a fair number of bikes/mopeds. As far as I can tell, the police are pretty laid back here, especially when it comes to motorists. I've been to many event and have yet to see any real police presence - even during the summer when Yamanashi (my area) is invaded by hoards of motorcycle gangs, do we rarely see many police. I've never been stopped by the police (yet ) so I can't comment on that...fortunately!
  7. The M Spec Nur doesn't have the bonnet vent, although the color (Millenium Jade) looks right. I thought that car in the pic was an V Spec II Nur...
  8. Standard R34 wheels are 18x9 with +30 offset...
  9. Sock: I didn't see any M spec cars there, though to be honest there were that many GTR's there I could have missed one
  10. hehe Yep, the color would help me blend in with all the other GTR's Maybe no one would notice mine is just a GT-V
  11. I've been thinking of doing something similar with R34 - long nismo style stripe down the side of the car, perhaps in silver, about 5cm wide...like the group A car above, only without the Nissan text...
  12. black does look superb...when it's clean. Trouble is, keeping it clean - I was constantly washing and waxing my black R33
  13. I'd be interested in going, if it's possible - Am I worthy?!?! Don't forget I'm a lowly GT-V owner - you'll find no turbo's under my bonnet!
  14. Count me and the GT-V in
  15. repost - have a look in the Japan section
  16. Thinking about it, waiting till next week is probably a good idea. We were pretty lucky with the traffic yesterday, but as you're aware travelling during Gridlock Week can be frustrating to say the least! It'll be quite a haul for you, usually takes me the best part of 3 hours from Kofu to Yawara, most of that is stuck in traffic through Tokyo...
  17. Great. Let me know when.
  18. Sorry Dino, I was hoping to get a lot more pics, but was constantly being hassled by my better half and newborn! Bless him If you're planning on visiting the museum sometime this week, let us know and I'll join you if I can - would be nice to use my liner to get there (instead of the Family wagon ) and also try for some better pics - I recommend a tripod for the indoor musuem shots, the lighting is quite dim) Here's a couple more GTR's... Justin: If you and Toy and coming over to Yamanashi by car later in the year, then the musuem is actually on the way to my place (almost ) so if you want, we could arrange to meet at the Okaya Interchange and go from there. Here's the url of the museum: Prince Museum and their access map:
  19. Black R34 GTR R34 GTR V Spec II and it's spec sheet: another view of the R34. Autech R32 4 door GTB-4? The museum also has an impressive collection of model/die-cast skylines... That's about all from me, lest my hosting site start moaning about bandwidth! I can thoroughly recommend the museum, I had a great time, as did my son!
  20. And on into the museum. The museum is located near a small park, with various other attractions, a skating rink, some kids rides, a wonderful view of lake Suwa and a few restaurants. There are regular meets held there, and judging by the photos inside the museum, it's been a popular place with skyline enthusiasts for many years... Carbon bodied R33 GTR It looked an absolute beast
  21. It's Golden Week here in Japan (National holiday time) so I took the opportunity to check out the second Nissan Prince Skyline Musuem in Nagano (there's another one in Ibaraki). I was expecting it to be a quiet place (much like the Ibaraki branch) but was pleasantly suprised to find it absolutely packed out with enthusiasts. Apparently the museum has recently undergone a renovation. The car parks reminded me of those at the Nismo festival in 2002 - door to door skylines as far as the eye could see. As luck would have it, in addition to masses of GTR's, a 4 door skyline club had organised a meet and there was an extremely good turnout. Well, enough of my ramblings, onto the pics! The way in... 4 door R34's lined up. After seeing this I'm very tempted to paint my calipers red
  22. R34 GTR rims on a R34 GTT. Photo is of Ian's car in the UK. He's since removed and sold the rims due to offset problems... see more pics and some useful info on R34 GTT tuning at his website: http://r34gtt.co.uk/
