  1. or fit some hydraulics seriously, either drive it onto a couple of planks of wood first, or if poss use the mini jack in the boot to raise the car up enough to get the trolley jack under...
  2. Prank - how about (if it's possible) changing the system so instead of being awarded points for posting (which has resulted in half the board becoming post whores overnight ) to one that awards points based on length of time as a member - say 1 point per day? Obviously reducing the costs of the various shop items to a suitable level. It might help to keep the amount of complete useless posts down, while rewarding those who've been a regular member for a long time... just a thought. I'll shut up now and let everyone get back to whoring....
  3. As long as post whoring is kept in the appropriate forum, then I don't see a problem. There were post whores before this point system, and they'll be post whores around (posting merrily away ) long after the novelty of this system has worn off. Naturally everyone (myself included) wants the benefits and goodies those points bring (Glowing username baby! ) but there's way too much whoring of the automotive sections which is making it difficult to read care is needed lest this forum cease to be known as Skylines Australia and become SPAM Australia
  4. Yeah - I thought it was pretty good, especially compared to the phone I have now. Though I must admit, I don't often use the camera on mobile phones - got a little Sony P8 that I carry around for those unexpected photo opportunities...
  5. I'll be in the 28 club before long....less than a week in fact :(
  6. Just noticed it's your birthday - have a good one!
  7. Aye you're right there. This is how it works: Australians take the piss out of everyone. When they've got it, us Brits take the piss out of the them. So we then have the piss. Then we sell it to the Americans and they use it in Top Fuel Drag races... :(
  8. Looks very nice - I'm also considering that model and in that color Well, can't beat a bit of color coordination
  9. I hope you're right - I can't be arsed changing lenses over just for the test!
  10. Just curious - what do they do with the piss when they've got it? :(
  11. is this store a good thing ? As has been noted, seems the amount of post whoring has gone through the roof, past the upper atmosphere and is now well and truly on it's way to the moon...
  12. here the phone I plan to get next... which just so happens to be available in a color that is strinkingly similar to Bayside Blue
  13. added to say: you guys are forgetting next month - ohh yeah, it's tax time baby! 39,000 for one car isn't so bad, double it for another and it starts getting expensive. Fortunately my daily runner, a minicar costs the grand total of...4,000 yen!
  14. Yep - I should start renting parts of my garden out - could make a fortune I've never had any shaken troubles, even with my old (riced up ) civic. More recently since I've been driving skylines I've become pretty well known at my local garage and they usually sort my cars out without added expensive or hassle. That said, next year the R34 will be up and I heard that I'll probably have to piss about swapping my clear lenses back over to amber ones.... Has anyone hear done a self-shaken?
  15. what a waste of a car. When I first began working here, at one of our branch schools there was a smart looking supra in black parked across from the building that never moved for over 2 years... I figured maybe the engine was f00ked, but even so the body/interior looked mint. It sat there rotting until eventually someone moved it right before the carpark was demolished and a Daily Store built there. Was very tempted to try and contact the owner and take the car off his/her hands...
  16. Not so sure about the TV tuner one, not if you're in Yamanashi - you can only receive 2 channels clearly!
  17. a lightened flywheel will help improve pick up response, but be aware that it will also cause the revs to drop more during gear changes...

Anyone heard anything about the Nismo Festival this year?
  19. Christian - just curious, this is probably a real dumb question but what happens if we "bank" the points? Are we able to use them at a later date? Thanks Dave
  20. Sounds good - a nice nismo color scheme for the Japan section
  21. here's mine - don't have pics of it myself, so just used a couple lurking on the net. and a bit of info (in Japanese ) Toshiba JT-08
  22. massive is a downside when it's an old massive house: freezing in winter and way too bloody hot in summer Worst thing is, I always thought old style Japanese houses were designed so as to remain cool in summer, but our place is anything but! The wood seems to trap the heat, so often it's hotter inside than out! But I can't complain, it is cheap and the location was ideal for what we wanted it for (namely a school). We plan to move out within a couple of years, but our place and all...
  23. I get that all the time as a result of working at 4 yochiens... Not pleasant, but offenders incur the wrath of "Gaikotsu Sensei" whereupon I don a particularly scary halloween mask and watch them sh1t themselves and run!
  24. we pay 50,000 yen a month for our place, which by Japanese (city) standards is both cheap and large (including large garden, twin car garage, and enough parking for several cars outside and a two floor out building with 3 rooms that I use a school). The downside (depending on how you look at it) is it's way out in the countryside with not much in the way of nite life (save for drifting ) and shopping. Though, my area is being rapidly developed, and at the rate it's going it wont be long before I feel I'm living in the city again... I'm in Yamanashi, on a map, find fuji and it's the large valley to the north. 90 mins from Tokyo by train.
