Hi guys, Just been going through the garage and found some 32 GTR and GTS-T parts... Original Cam Gears (r32 GTR) no chips, both = $60 HKS pods (sound really mean, are probably a bit dusty though) = $30 both Original AFM's (r32 GTR) both work, got z32's on my car when it got rebuilt... One has been re-siliconed at some stage, but both work fine and are original parts... = 80 each or 150 both. Original Coil packs (r32-Gts-T) all work (I replaced them with spitfires or something, still had stutter, turned out was fuel prob) but one is missing the rubber boot on the end... $50 for all, or $10 ea. (min 3 or u must pickup) Original Clutch fork boot (R32 GTR) =$40 Original two new suspension bushes = $30 both Postage is $10 for any item, can pickup and pay if you prefer... lol, you guys buy my car and you can do whatever you want with it, ok My car already handles better than it goes by far, i cant hardly kick the back out, People lower their cars all the time FYI. by putting shorter springs.. it's just shorter.. and they're already tight as all hell.. either way the car sits lower.. because of a shorter spring.. So no one i'm assuming has heard of pulling the coils up top like i explained earlier? -

My springs are hard as hell, insanely hard, and it's standard ride height so instead of getting new springs i'm thinking about cutting em.. i know this is dodgy but yeh, A friend of mine said it's possible to take the spring off, and pull it up slightly so that one of the coils is sitting over the top of the tower part (mine has around 4 coils left over) and this will lower it without me having to cut em I know it's dodgy but.. yeh curious if anyones ever heard of that second method? Car is a r32 gts-t with aftermarket coilovers not sure which brand

ah, nah i made sure the half moon part slid in smoothly (i'm assuming if it didnt slide in then i wouldnt be able to get the unit all the way back into the cover, right)? I'll whip it off anyway again, but doubt it's broken on account of how easily it went into place -

i did give the unit a few light tabs when i was trying to get it back into place, very light ones, how sensative are the units, any easy way to test whether they're broken? -
Hi, just resprayed my timing cover and have reinstalled it, but now my idle is very rough... I marked the timing unit on the front when i pulled it out, the timing is now exactly as it was set before One question though, the little keyway in the middle that spins, does it matter if thats turned around a few times while off the car? it's lined up and connected fine now Also had the cover off for my injector loom (it's the one on the left side of engine facing boot, just below the pressure bleed nossel, roughly 30 cm long and yeh inside is the loom) likely that this could have messed it up? guessing idle would be rough if one of the injectors wasnt workn

hmm, thats pretty interesting, i thought the 34 would have much better handling, looked like it was rolling everywhere. True that the trip tronic V the xr6 manual wasn't such a great way to compare it though -
If it's welded on and not flanged bolted in then theres a good chance they're both resonators. How big is it at a guesstimate in diameter? You said 3 inch piping, so if it's only around 4 inch and is circular, like the foot long one then probably resonators. most of the high flowed cats i've seen have been pretty angular and at least 4 inches and 6 inches across. Get a pic of it if u can but i'd say they both just resonators

You guys clearly don't understand what i've written 4 or 5 times in the last 24 hours. I DONT CARE THAT I'VE BEEN DEFECTED. It annoys me that so many import owners put up with so much crap and don't respond. I mean sure maybe not on this site, because most readers are squares or 30+ year olds, but on most other forums (yeh all the ones you guys hate, ns.com, sdu.com, boostcruising) people are putting up with absurd amounts of shit. Anyway i just cbf with my rice anymore and i'm selling the thing to a friend for 11.5k tomorrow or the day after. Spend the left over money on my other car. Good luck, i wish 1000 defects upon you

What people don't seem to understand is that i couldn't care in the least that i've been defected, or whether i deserve it or not. I'm wondering if any one (and i hear alot of complaints about the police force in general, although most just get replies like im receiving) is actually trying to get anything down on paper regarding these problems

Well come on you gotta admit it's retarded that they didn't get me for the 3 things that you'd think you'd get on an imported car.. i mean wtf, 1 of my 3 number plate lights was out (debateable), the front tyre (fine) handbrake (lol) come on, they looked at my car for 30 mins and wrote these 3 things down? Thats just odd come to think of it Also my 162rwkw should be ok on power/weight ratio, and I'm sure that it's not illegal to install a new turbo on all cars right? The weight on my rego says 1320 and my car is only 163kw so it's under when you look at it on paper, which is how the law would look at it.. even if you wrote it down to 1300 it's still legal..

Oh besides reading, seeing and hearing, and personally, i've had a mate who's been slammed onto the ground and almost a broken nose another with a broken arm and another who's had his side mirror broken off, now out of about 15 import owners i am friends with 3/15 seems pretty high.. AND YOUR MISSING THE POINT, MY COMPLAINT IS THE WAY IN WHICH IMPORT DRIVERS IN GENERAL ARE TREATED NOT ABOUT DEFECTS, although that is what's particularly come to a head with me.. They aren't doing there jobs half the time, they do it for fun, i've heard them over digital radio scanners.. (no i don't own one) Anyway exhaust is 84 db. They didn't do me for boost controller and i told him about the remap and he said thats ok, so in there eyes on those respects my car was ok and i wouldn't have to worry about arguing them so it doesn't matter whether it's legal or not. Anyway a friend is coming over to help me write a letter to our local electorate in eltham and submit it to the papers, hopefully to get it posted, if it's written well enough it won't be ignored, it's too controversial an issue (P-Platers in general are a controversial issue).. I was hoping someone had already tried these steps and was organizing a court case or a march or something... Evidently not Also if anyone is looking for an R32 GTS-T i'll probably be looking to sell mine, asking about 11.5k, PM me.

Oh i know, i don't care about the defects, really i just think it's shiet that so many people are putting up with so much crap and any (if any) outbreaks seem to be violent.. i think people should be trying to get some stuff down on paper

Illegal? I count 2, maybe 3 if u count other things. Did i ever in all my defects get done for any of those things? (excepting the FMIC because the defects was in a way connected to my FMIC installation) Anyway it seems that you seem to think that i'm the only one who has any problems (that and normally u close topics about said problems) or perhaps the victorian police force has a bearing on what you reply? Who knows but your reply wasn't terrible helpful, tell you what, any other people reading this topic should just read the last 4 paragraphs, tx

Anyway i own a R32 with minor mods and 17X7" boring wheels, standard suspension (sits very high)it's a pretty plain looking car and everything else on it is as it was from factory. I'm about 6 foot tall, wear glasses (when i'm being pulled over) have neat hair and look young.. I Just got pulled over (xr8 unmarked was waiting and followed me for a while hoping i'd do something stupid) They fully checked out EVERY aspect of the car, no exaggeration (it took them 34 minutes) and came up with (Note: Major defect notice): Light globe blown X 1 (theres three and the middle one is blown, you know the ones that light up the plates.. this is probably the thing that shits me most, who f**king checks this out, i mean honestly.. it'd pass a roadworthy, specially since it's got 2 working ones 1X Front Tyre to be replaced (It's at about 85% tread, and totally fine, no shoulder wear or anything, i work for a tyre company..) Handbrake X1 (in case my second one wasn't working) Needs to be fixed (It was like 30 degree's above horizontal and there was nothing wrong with it) Front Structural integrity (even though i explained to him that it wasn't part of the chassis, merely a firewall) Oh and he was going to defect me for a boost controller.. I kept telling him there fine, he informed me he'd know if they were legal and.. surprise surprise it wasn't on my list of defects.. He also took pictures of just about everything, including the T Pieced piping running into the cabin (it's blocked off) that i used to run my boost gauge off. Now i would have been cut about this if the guy was ok, but they both spoke very rudely and there body language was very aggressive. Both got me out of the car, stood over me and talked to me about how stupid it is to own an imported car.. i informed them that in many ways they're better (politely), and he said sure they are, so dickheads like you can speed and do burnouts. I tried to get a word in but they both turned away got into there car and sat there watching me for 10 minutes before they drove off Anyway, i've been pulled over 25 times in the last year, never been done for speeding or being a nob, and i've never met a polite police officer. As soon as they see an imported car, they becomes arseholes. Anyway, enough cop bashing, thats not what i'm about I'm just wondering if theres any one doing anything about all the crap import owners are getting, purely for owning an import? Like has anyone tried contacting a local electorate and getting them to do something.. Even a maximum number of defects.. Or make it fair and convince him to get a group of cops to do such a comprehensive run over of other non-high po cars, and see how many of them get defected.. Or even just complain about cops attitudes in general towards P plated import drivers.. About how often people are being pulled over, about how often bullshit is being made up at peoples expenses about how often people (my friend had his arm broken for telling an officer to fug off) people are being abused, etc.. I think the 18-25 year old group is putting up with too much crap and not complaining enough.. We are the immediate future, and i can't see why things can't be changed if we want them to be... Within reason.. Anyway i'm mainly just wondering if theres any movement being done, or does stuff just escalate out of control and contribute to things like noble macdonalds.. i.e. has anyone contacted a lawyer

Well last year it was worth $9k too i think i just originally didnt notice/care they put it so low >.< Um i don't think shannons is an option for me, i'm only 20 and i rang them when i was 18 and they told me they couldnt insure a P-Plater turbo car, is that right? I'll ring them and hopefully they don't bump the premium up too much

Hmm so my insurance has just came up for renewal ($500 lower than last year) and i've noticed that the agree value on the car is only $9000, i dont remember agreeing to $9000.. $9000 would buy a R32 Auto Non turbo with bad paint and mine is the opposite, anyway i've tried ringing and can't get through, but if i press the whole first owner out of japan good condition great engine thing will the bump it up? It's worth around 11.5 i reckon

Hmm i had a big toss up between a GT4 and a Skyline as well. The GT4 isn't much slower, maybe .2-.3 on the quarter, but it's pretty heavy and it's alot harder to find mods/information about it. The other problem was a serious lack of good nick ones, probably because theres not as many around. I also wanted the GT4 for originality, but i mean R33 is the car everyone and there dog has, R32's aren't as common (at least near where i live) Ohhh and the front looks ok but the curves on the rear bumper of the GT4 was a huge turnoff! Ne ways, welcome
