From memory they were 17mm? I didn't find it hard to undo them, just used a 17mm spanner They're made by some special material so doesn't rust and stick to the studs. Pretty sure I used the ring end to crack them and just undid it with finger Have done that on 3 r33s and they've all been the same

I had that problem when an old turbo in my old car was leaking Only starts to smoke after leaving it idle for a while, doesn't seem to do it otherwise. Changed turbo and it was fixed

Fuel Pump Install Then Running Issues

Check fuel filter? Could be clogged causing fuel system to run low on fuel pressure A replacement is only like $15 anyway -
Perfect Top Feed Rail In Theory For R33 Rb25Det .
chiksluvit replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
After going through the same conversion process I understand how important local support is.. Ordered my kit After a 3 week wait I realised missing injector seats. Seller didn't believe me, reckons I lost them myself After showing him photos he finally agreed to send me the seats, but only willing to send via economy unless I pay for postage Paid postage to get them delivered by express, waited 2 weeks and still not here, so called up aus post and was advised that the post code was incorrect so it took a trip to nth NSW and back All up took over 1 mth to get my kit with the right parts, didn't work out cheaper either. Plus sellers overseas so there's a 12-24 hr turnaround for emails Anyway after 2 mths here's mine -
Polyurethane Steering Rack Mount Bushes?
chiksluvit replied to ausdrift's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Worth doing Slightly Improved steering response and more steering feedback from the road- depends on how worn the stock rubbers are The increase in nvh is very small, you can try really hard to notice any difference but you'll probably just forget it after a while and enjoy the improved steering input Better road feedback may not be for everyone though especially if you're used to driving lexus or mercs -
Squeal Noise At High Boost, Help!
chiksluvit replied to RuskyGT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Or turbo gasket Had one of those before, open the turbo heat shield and inspect for black spots showing signs of exhaust gas leakage -
Bought and installed brand new sard 540cc twin spray injectors, came in as a kit specifically for rb25, they are white Engine ran rough, also sounded like Wrx throughout the entire rev range Tried trouble shooting think one may be faulty, bought a spare injector and still the same New owner put it into a 2jz aristo, punched the numbers in ecu, fired up, all silky smooth... They're a waste of time on skylines but fine on toyotas Sard 550 reds were good in my old car

Don't know that turbo but an aftermarket turbo with stock ecu is How long have you had it for? @ what boost and for how long? Compression test? I know stock rb20 ECUs don't handle high boost well and could lead to destroying an engine. I learnt what pinging sounds like with a boost t in an r32 gtst 10 years ago Issues from cars with conversion done are really hard to diagnose online because so many things are customised Ie it could be an injector plug that was not soldered/ joined properly or a bit loose since you used rb25 loom which has side feed plugs and rb20 uses top feeds hence different plugs. Or many other things Definitely more info needed I thought sr20 from s14 would be a better engine in the s14 than an rb20 but anyway edit: read again realised you said havent ran correctly since conversion. check wiring and timing i'd say

Too scared to say ebay turbo or everyone will have a go at him

What ecu? Happened after conversion or it has been ok until recent?

Acquiring Sydneykid Suspension Setup
chiksluvit replied to Taso84's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yup followed this thread when it was first created, was very informative -
I got one of these too, can't say I noticed any difference since I only just put it on with a hypergear high flow turbo. It's just an easier option from installation perspective without costing an arm and a leg for HPI Didn't have to grind anything either, matched the turbo fine and waste gate can open/close freely In my previous r33 I have tried both bell mouth and split (long split, not the hks copy) setup without altering anything else, I must say I noticed better midrange response with the split setup- no dyno sheet to compare max power however but I didn't really care about what the max power was Turbo was an r33 highflow with garret bb CHRA done by precision- it was a very responsive turbo I know most people prefer bell mouth, and may think otherwise, but I'm just sharing my experience

Ok wow So going by the shock dyno chart for the r33 Gtst above- how high a spring rate do you think this can support up to? -

New Version Power Fc's And Fc-Edit
chiksluvit replied to 89CAL's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks mate unfortunately it's not my datalogit. With so many plug-in options recently like nistune or adaptronic etc, my tuner hasn't come across any r33s with the latest PFC. he did shoot off the .dat file to datalogit, but the fc datalogit team normally takes around 1 mth to get back to his emails, so I'm just trying to see if there are quicker ways to get access. we also tried logging into his datalogit yahoo group, but his ID has since been unregistered. Anyway thanks at least we know he definitely needs the 2.130K and 2.130 won't work . -
New Version Power Fc's And Fc-Edit
chiksluvit replied to 89CAL's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm facing the same issue Have gone online and managed to find 2.130, have mucked around with 2.128 and 2.130 for 2 hours now but we're still getting the same error message, does anyone have a link for 2.130k? I'm assuming the 2.130k is the one that talks to the latest Pfc right? Not the 2.130? -

happy to share the graph but I'll need to dig it up first, will look for it tomorrow. Keen to get some opinion on this as well Don't know if GTR and Gtst valving is THAT different? Front suspension is physically different so valving maybe different to accommodate for it. but since bilsteins work on a wide spectrum they may not even have to bother with different valving? -
Acquiring Sydneykid Suspension Setup
chiksluvit replied to Taso84's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hrm I just had mine dynoed and rebuilt a couple of months ago so it'll be a while before I do anything, thought I'd ask for reference's sake in case anyone or myself want to do this down the track Wasn't too exy to rebuild them either, prices are very transparent though the additional cost in converting and revalving them is worth as much as a set of BC/MCAs -

B8 is essentially the same thing, just a shorter stroked versionThere's no b8 for r33 Gtst but I find b6 to be a bit hard coupled with tein mediums @ 4.0kg front and 4.5kg rear. Have used Whiteline springs before and they felt much more compliant on the crappy roads in sydney Has anyone successfully done an adjustable coilover conversion and fitted ~8kg spring? Any revalving required for that rate seeing that they're pretty stiff already? -
Fuel Injector Choice For Rb25

So you've remote mount the stock reg? Just trying to find some ideas on how to mount the stock reg, EFI hardware adapter uses -8 o ring port which doesn't fit on cheapo aftermarket rails -

Yeah go with the Bosch Scotty should be able to sort your injector requirements out with decent price. Best of all he is in Australia and provides good after sales support -
