Hi Guys, Thanks for the reply, but is it a real big job to get the solid lifters re-shimmed?? Also ive been having another issue with the car not sure if i should start another new topic or not but here goes. If i rev the car and let go off the accelerator, revs come back down to the normal idle rpm for a split second and then drops down further to about 500rpm sometimes turns off and turns back on and then goes back to normal idle rpm. Now ive checked with the mechanic and hes told me its because ive not no return valve or something or the other and theres too much return pressure of sumting. Hes checked all cooler piping, vacuum hoses and afm's and its still doing it. Mechanic's however told me that a pfc jetro will get rid of the issue coz it wont be running afm's. Any ideas on what it could be?? Could it be due to a conversion issue, the car originally had an rb25det with an auto and now has a rb26dett with forged internals, cams that havnt been dialed in as yet and r34 gtt gearbox running in it with stock ecu???

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to know if any one else out there that has got forged internals with an aftermarket cams which havent been dialed in, in their rb26 which have noisy solid lifters. Is there anything that can be done to quieten them. The engines only done 8000kms after a rebuild so im not sure if that has anything to do with it. Ive asked my mechanic about this but didnt really get much of an answer. Anyone had this before??

Hi People, Ive got a 33 4door sedan. I want to do some body work to it and im just after some info. I like the 33 GTR front end, how hard is it and what do i need to look for, for the wider tougher look like the front of a GTR do I just need to find Original GTR Quarter panels and front bar and just fit it on or do i need something else to give it the wider look. For the rear being a sedan ive looked around but cant find anything that gives it a wider look that will match the front. I tried looking at the autech 4 door gtr edition but i cant find any parts for it. Does any out there know of wider rear panels and where i can get them. I dont want a wide body kit id like it to look neat, tough and suttle. Hope you guys can help. Rj

I had the same problem with my car. I tried the wheel alignment, wheel balancing, new tyres nothing worked. I had the mechanic look at it and when the car was on the hoist, i cant remember what he did but theres a steering box rubber or sumthing. That rubber gets worn out and needed a change. Changed that and i havnt had a problem after that. I think from memory he turned the wheel to one end and tried to nudge it futher (this is with a long screw driver kinda thing not the streeing wheel) and if you find the entire steering box move then thats the movement that your experiening when your driving. My had the same problem when i hit around the 100000kms mark as well. Hope this helps

Hi People Got a chance today to try out what you guys told me but instead of taking the aac out to clean it, what i did was when the car is at running temp i took the connection out from the AAC and nothing happened. My question is was the RPM meant to drop. Also when i unplug the TPC connector from the throttle rale nothing happens either, i would have thought that the RPM might have dropped?? Can some please shed some light on this and since there is no change when i unplug the connection to the AAC is it worth takin it out and giving it a clean???? By the way "HELLRAISER" thats exactly wats happening, exept wen i rev the engine it the pm wont drop all the way to "0" it will hunt between 400 to about 800 RPM i rekon but if i drive it hard and then come to a sudden stop the car just turns off??? HELP!!!! Rj

Hi Hydroxinol on idle its fine, when i drive then come to a stop or when i rev the car when the engine is warm thats wen i have the problem

i had this problem and found that it was to do with the little plastic bit that sits on top of the fuel tank. Its the one which has all 3 fuel hoses coming out off. I had 3 massive cracks in it , changed that and then no mre petrol smell

Thanks guys for the reply, ive cleaned the aac valve on an rb25 before but i just looked at the engine bay and cant find it on the rb26??? Does anyone have a pic of where it sits on the rb26??

Hi Guys, For a while now my rb26 has been having an issue only when at normal operating temp (its fine when the engines cold). Say for example if i just standing at a set of traffic lights and i rev the car, the car revs and instead of going back to idle rpm which i think is about 1100 rpm it drops way below almost turning off and then comes back to normal idle rpm. I noticed the other day if i drive the car a bit hard and then come to a sudden stop it turns off???? Ive changed bov's, checked intercooler piping, checked for vacuum hose leak, checked fuel filter, checked and made sure the afm plugs are in correctly, checked all the fuses in all the fuse boxes. Not sure what else to check, have checked the search but not much relating to this particular problem. The engines been rebuilt only about 6000 kms and the cams havent been dialled in as yet, not sure if that makes any difference but i thought id ask. Any help will be good Thanks Rj

Hi Guys, Im having this problem too? So far ive checked the BOV(Tried another pair), checked the cooler piping as well. Mine seems to do it wen the engine is at running temp. Doesnt do it when its cold. Im running stock comp, pods and a Cooler. Can be very annoying espically if your to hit the brakes all of a sudden to slow down the car turns off???? Weird.... Have also tried resetting the ecu. Will Check the TPS and CAS Tonight and see what it does.
