Hi Guys Im doing an engine conversion in my car from an Rb25det to an Rb26dett. As per the mechanic the main thing i would require are for the conversion are Rb26dett engine GTR ECU R33 GTR Engine loom RB26dett rwd sump or rb25det modified sump R33 GTR Chassic Wiring loom I agree on the first 4 thing that would be needed but what i dont understand is why in the world would he need a chassic wiring loom. I have done some research on the internet and have called up XSpeed in WA and they have confirmed that I do NOT need the chassic loom because the only thing im changin is the engine so the ECU and Harness is all i would require towards electronics since ecu and loom connect to the engine and is essential for the running. Can anyone else shed some light on this. Im sorta stuck in the middle where i want to question the mechanic on this but all i get is that he def needs it for the conversion. Im iffy on cross questioning him on this topic but can any let me know if for sure that the car will start and run as per normal if I decide not to get the chassic loom. Your help asap will be good

Hi Guys and Gals Not sure if im meant to be posting this here but here goes anyway. Ive got a r33 gtst and all of a sudden my tacho has just gone wacko..lol in other words the rpm guage just waves around not picking the correct rpm. Sometimes it doesnt moves and sometimes it sits way past the red line on the end of the numbers (after 9k). When i tap the dash it jumps and sometimes picks the correct rpms and sometimes doesnt do anything all. I dont know if this is co-incidence or not but my climate control unit dash buld wernt working either. I tapped the dash and they came on. I tapped it again and it went off. All this was done when the car was running and for the climate control lights the headlights were on. Is there anything i should be checking to see why the rpm guarge is acting weird, i tried the DIY on the dash cluster but i couldnt find what it was stating. The bulbs in the climate control are not fused and none of the relays or fuses are blown. Any help appreciated.

Hi People, Interested to find out the different bodykits available for a GTST r33 4door skyline. I have seen the URAS kit for the r33 sedans but does anyone else know of anyother kits that are available for the sedans. I have also seen some of the kits available in japan such as the Blister kit and an impul la33 kit. Anyone know if these kits are available in australia? if so where. Are there anymore kits available, i have searched the internet and on here but found barely anything on the r33 sedan. This could be good info for us sedan people who want a bodykits .......................... unless im the only one

Hi Guys, Ive got a series 1 gtst r33. The driving lights next to the indicators on the front bar dont seem to work anymore. The dash cluster lights come on but the driving lights dont. I replaced both bulbs before but didnt check the voltage on these globes but they worked for a while and all of a sudden didnt. Ive checked all the fuses on the interior fuse box and all are fine. Anyone had this issue before. Both globes are not blown Thoughts!!!

I had the same issue with mine, but mine started to happen after the engine over heated and turned off. To get mine back sort of working alright now. Ive so far done the following. Cleaned the AAC valve as per the Maintenance tutorial - made idle a lot smoother and drive smoother as well. Changed the idle to a but higher than normal. Changed sparkies Did a pressure test to find out i was losing pressure on all cylinders after the overheat (hate this one) For now it starts fine and idles good and still has the grunt but not as much as before. Hope this helps

Hi Guys, I want to change my current stock suspension for my r33. Ive been told by my mechanics that the shocks on the rear are different to the coupe since mine is a sedan. Is this true?? Thoughts ????

Hi People Im just doing some research and tryin to consider my options in my head. My engines running low on compression so i need a rebuild I could go down the path of rebuilding the engine wif forgie and a whole lot of bells and whistles and make a monster engine. I could also go for an RB26dett and get alot more power for the same amount of cash My budget is about $5000. Im leaning towards the rb26dett in a r33 gtst. So far engine wiring loom, chassic wiring loom, rb26 ecu.......... Has anyone done this conversion before, if so can you please shed some light on this for me. Its a bit of a grey area for me so ur opions will count. Im after possible problems after the engine is built and put in and then it decides for example not to start or sumtin like that. Thoughts!!!

I know this may sound dumb but mine had a similar problem. Check ur cranck angle sensor. If it in the middle or is it set to devance. Mine was on devance and was doing the whole missfire thing. Move it to advance and it was fine Clockwise=Devance Anticlockwise=Advance Just though id let u know. C how u go

Hi Guys I bought a head unit a while ago and decided to put it in the car. I connected it up and it powers the 4 speaks fine but not the sub. Reason being the system remote wire is only putting out 10v when the amps need 12v. I previously ran these amps on another hu and they ran fine but this hu is giving me the shits. Is there any way to make the system remote from the hu put out 12v instead of 10. The manual says it should put out 12v but since its been lying at home not being used im pretty sure its out of warrenty so yeh. Thoughts!!!

Hi Guys SIKLINE if its your coil pack(which was my case) whenever i heard the ticking the car would miss. I parked the car in a dark spot one night and opened the bonet and i could see the spark from the sparkplugs coming out which is how i knew my coil pack was rooted. For the idle issue you should really try the fix, mine runs like a dream until i hit about 5 grand when it start to splutter and fart and wat not & ofcousrse miss occassionally on idle. Mechanic quoted me about $4000 for a rebuild which includes forgies, bluprinting, and the bells and whistles compared to $2500 for a swap over. Im still thinkin if i shuold go for rebuild or swap over. Thing is i depend on the car and i need it to be off the road as little as possible so thats why im leaning towards the swap over but then again the rebuild would be more reliable
