  1. So i am about to pull of the manifold first thing in the morning, but need to know. WHAT Are the stock size of the studs, are they M10*1.5 or M10*1.25. Are they M10 both ends, because as i found out today, the ones form the manifold to the turbo have TWO different threads. HELP, need anwser ASAP, manifold comingof tomorrow, but i need to buy the parts first.
  2. well mine is 16-18 mm HG, depending on how it starts. LOL. According to manual, the stock skyline is suppose to have 17-20 mmHg.

  4. But that is the thing, if i pull them out, i still need to get new seals and stuff, this way i can just test them.
  5. yeah you could do that too, i am trying to avoing pulling everything out. So does anyone know the correct figures for the fuel injectors.
  6. So in my quest to find my cold start issues with the car, as described here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=160180 I did the following test. I put a fuel pressure gauge in and tested the fuel leakage and so forth. Basically if left alone the fuel pressure eventually bleeds off to 14.5 psi, over the night, which is to spec, I need to find the correct page again to give details. So then I pressurized the system and blocked off supply and return. The reading was 40psi, after and hour still 40 psi, after 2 hours 39 psi, but this was at night 11:30pm to be exact. Then over night the pressure dropped of to 20psi or so. However I was told that the pressure loss is worked out over 30 minutes, so if there is no substantial pressure loss the system is ok. THIS IS TAKEN FORM A MECHANIC THAT WORKS ON FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEMS. CAN SOMONE CONFIRM. Does this mean the injectros are leaking badly? or something?
  7. I found form experiance that REDLINE SI-1 Fuel Cleaner is the BEST. It is sooo good it cleaned some of the carbon build up from the top of my cylinders. $26 at Bursons, it is a heat activated agent, really does work well.
  8. Ok so i got the FICD fixed, it was stuck, and now opens and shuts, BUT, it doesn't do anything. If you turn the aircon on, it doesn't rais the rpm of the engine. I checked the air passage and that is fine, and selenoid opens, but no rpm rise. Also found that the power stearing does not activate the FICD, form the looks of it the switch has some shit caced on it, so need to check that. Does anyone know how the FICD is suppose to work correctly??? ALSO, the overfloow bottle came up to a higher level then normal, but that is possibly as i was standing arround in traffick for ages, will see if it goes down over the day as the car cools down. Either way the car started like crap again this morning. How does a leaking manifold affect the start, echsut manifold that is, is it becaus eon the overalap it might be drawing air in from the manifold??? HELP.

  10. Couple of things. 1)TPS not set correectly, i assume GTRs have them aswell 2)Water temp sensor bugared 3)Cold Start Valve not closing 4)First Idle Controll Device, FICD, solenoid, not working (as is the case in my car) 5)A vacuume leak somewhere.

  12. LOL. yeah i miss tourqe, the magan has a bit over 400 nM at the front wheels, and that is GREAT, any gear, bag, your away. Skyline, you need to rev it to get anywhere. LOL. Well done mate, can't wait to see it. On an up note, found out last night that my FICD, FIRTS IDLE CONTROLL DEVICE solenoid, doesn't work. See if this makes any differance.
  13. Well i am about to replace my manifold gasket this weeekend, it is leaking badly, not sounding like a tractor, just leaking. BUT i think part of it is the FICD solenoid. According to nissans manuals, its a FIRST IDLE CONTROLL DEVICE, not FAST IDLE CONTROLL DEVICE as always throught.
  14. Hum will check that, but i found out today that my FICD selenoid does not opperate. So i recon this might be a couse for my problems. Correct??????????????/
  15. well the Redline stuff i uses, DEFINATLY did something. I mean teh top of the pistons were clean. LOL. now i guess that means it works
  16. I don't have a PFC, just a SAFC II. BKR are actually longer in the electrode, they are more exposed in the engine. BUT i have tried the BCPR and no diferance. Yeah 5's were too hot, 7's too cold. In regards to tunning, thsi problem happend about 2 weeks after the tune, it ran fine till then. Can somone enlighten me as to how a leaking exhaust manifold would effect cold starts????
  17. Heat range 6, copper ones. BKR6EYA. I have tried other, with no sucsess.
  18. I recently used soem REDLINE SI-1 fuel injection cleaner, and DAm that stuff really work swanders, It actually cleaned some of the carbon deposits from the top of the cylinders. It is heat activatet and costs about $26 a bottle at Bursons.
  19. crap it's an RB25 mate, i think it was in the region of 390 NM, but all i have form Kutsie is the total traction tourqe or something. that was 14XX NM. So you got the turbo onit then?
  20. not so bad, you can now buy something that works. HUMM, maybe i should do thesame. LOL. On another note, i scorred all the gaskets and studs and bits and pices needed for the exhaust manifold repair for $154 all up. YEEHHHAAAA.

  22. Yeah well the exhaust manifold is leaking badly, you can smell the exhaust gas in the engine bay. I am replacing it this weekend. Why would the exhaust manifold couse a rough start? I know it makes a differance in a NA car, but a turbo? Please explain. And thanks for the replies. I scored a full gasket set for the skyline, all banjo seals and so forht, for $150. YYEEEHHHAAA. I can't belive nissan charge $10 per stud for the studs between the turbo and the manifold. CRAZY. I got alll the studs, high tensile, from Nuts and Bolts, $14. LOL.

  24. dud talk about timming, me too, have a meeting at 6:3- till 8:30 and then dinner with work for clients. DAM IT it's a hard life
