The Next Ecu To Dominate The Sau Community?
WogsRus replied to pear's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I throw one into the mix. It's calle MEGASQUIRT. there are about 10 cars here in tas running it, Cost is $300 or so AU, plus some other supporting mds. Uses any sensors you have, just need to pick them up. Runs full Laptop software, sell tuning. and works a charm. My mate is unig it on a 64 Hilman Hunter, that is fuel injected. It's a hill climb beast. Check them out. http://www.megasquirt.info/ They have been compared to a Haltec system, but it is a lot of DIY, so beginer beware. -
yeah i think so Questy, i think bolt patterns are thesame, but don't quote me on that.

Cool, so as long as the differance between the idle and peak recal is 60, then it's all good? Hay Busky2k, can you PM me with some more details explaining how it all works, the knock issue on SAFC II. Down here in tas there is no one to tune it properly, so i have to kind of so it myself and then check it. So basically all i hve to worry about is the diferance between the idle monitor setting and the peak recal? Correct, as long as differance is less then 60 then all good. -
Car booked it at Kutsies for Wednsday the 7th of Feb, got to baby it a bit till then, so i don't blow anythign up. LOL. Hopefully well in excess of 200rwkw

opps today on a hot day on peak recall i saw 52 knock max and 10 idle so i guess that is about 42 total. Still all good. Got it booked into the tuner to do a run and hopefully, fingers crossed it will be all good. -

Nah it didn't jump that far, like i said i leftthe knock set as per the old ECu and the new ECu is thesame, there seams to be no knock that i can tell. -

I C, well i'm gona do a map trace to make sure it is all good, but so far i think it is ok. I can't hear any knock at all, and pinging, well that is a bit hard to tell, so hopefully i won't blow the engine. LOL. -

Ok so all those with an SAFC II, know that the knock sensor needs to be calibrated. So first you let the car warm up and set the knock at 1500rpm and then at 3500rpm. This sets the basline of the knock sesnor. IE as per this post: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=132717&hl= Ok so with the new ECU i have not reset the knock on the SAFC II so i could compear this to the new ECU to make sure it wasn't doing damage. So with the new ECU, the knock values are exactly the same as before, well in the same range, zero most days when cold and creeps up to 10-15 on hot days and stayes there. However i have an interesting question. If you go to SENSOR CHECK screen, you can see the raw value of the knock sensor, now at idle with no load, my car showed 0065, not sure what the units are, at 6900rpm, the value was 0125, so that is double. However, back in the MONITOR SCREEN, the value goes from 0, coresponding to 0065, and then to 10, corresponding to 0125. SO WHAT THE HELL, i do not understand the Knock part of the SAFC II, if the car was actually knocking, it would be dead, long time ago, trust me. There is no audiable knock, it is not lean and timming is at 18 deg, as at 15 it seams slugish, so bumped it up one by one, and 18 seams great. The Figures between the old ECU, stock nissan one, and the new ECU, Central20, are the same, but i do not understande how the vlues relate to eachother. in the SENSOR CHECK screen, is the knock value in volts, milivolts, what. HELP i am going insane. PS. The car has new pump, FMIC and all supporting mods, including exhaust, no cat, new plugs, splitfire coils ect. ect. Compression is near enough tto 150psi across all cylinders, and plugs looked ok. -
"Blue Wire Mod" This allows you to read Oxygen Sensor Voltage on the AFC display. On the wire harness for the AFC there are three wires that normally not used on an Eclipse. These are White, Yellow and Blue. The Blue wire is meant for the second Air Flow Meter on a Nissan 300ZX. You will connect this wire to the O2 sensor wire right at the ECU. To read the O2 sensor voltage, scroll down to and select the "etc." menu. Select the "Sensor Check". Of the three readings, O2 voltage will be the middle one (#2) Taken from the Eclipse forum. Anyone game to try it.

One thing, i read this on another forum, does it actually matter. """""Yep as the others said, variance is definitely more important because the absolute readings of every gauge are different. I would try disabling the injectors as I found they deflated the readings by upto 10psi. So pull the fuse to the ECU or disconnect each injector if its accessible! Oh and, dont forget to have all 6 sparkies out when you do it, and also have the throttle wide open""""""" I had the injectors pullsing still.

Did a compresion Test this afternoon, on a COLD engine. I know it is suppose to be warm but couldn't do it then. So i got Cylinder 1 = 150 psi Cylinder 2 = 152 psi Cylinder 3 = 153 psi Cylinder 4 = 151 psi Cylinder 5 = 150 psi Cylinder 6 = 150 psi This was on a cold, well possibly sligtly, slightly warm engine. SO looking good. Also got some shots inside each cylinder boore (photos), all look spot on, no leaning out spots, all the same. Plugs looked all the same, but cylinder one, propably a bit ritcher then any other. So all good, new ecu seams ok. Adjusted the timing to 18 degress and will see what happens. All plugs are now 0.75mm and no missfire. YEEHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Gone try and get a hold of a leak down tester and see what's what. But happy so far. Engine has done 80K and has had a bit of a hard life the past 10K or so with me behind the wheel.

ahhh, the sweet sound of winging form another skyline owner. LOL. JUST LIKE ME. All cars are a money pit, BUT skylines, they take you to the cleners and then some. That is why i do 90% of the work myself.

Rough Idle And Stalling Prob At Slow Speeds Clutch In
WogsRus replied to juls33's topic in General Maintenance
It's the middle wire, i did mine by adjusting so that when i blimped the throttle i got instant response, otherwise to much and it will be slow, to little and to slow, mine is 0.39V at the moment. It is suppose to be about 0.4V but manual states up to 0.6V -
Yeah i will miss the bike when it's gone, i must admit i enjoy the car too, you can get a whole heap more sideways. LOL. Good Luck GMB, hope you get what you are after.
-
HUMMMM BIKES, yeah i have to fix mine so i can sell it. DAM IT. On another note, i think my coils are still missing a bit at 4500 rpm, goign to do a comp test to make sure nothing wrong there. Other then that I need $200 for a tune, anyone intrested in lending me some money. ??????

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-R34-...1QQcmdZViewItem This car sold some time ago, so i presume this is a scam. Can somone confirm?

Yeha i know that guy, it's Maxes brother, from the Magna Forum. He comes out with us for cruises all the time. The things is great, he has done all the work himself. Eaven pulling some good numbers.

SPOTO, Young GTR on the way to work in the NEW GTS2. Looks sweet, sounds good. GMB , can we have discussions here about the cars spoted or just spoted.
-
Hay Al_R33 make sure when you order the coils you get the correct ones, the Series 1 and Series 2 coils are different. Slide has had issues with incorrect items being ordered and not being refunded.
-
How much was the GTS young?
-
Hay Al R33, yeah splitfires work a charm, deffinate improvment, eaven with teh stock ECU, got better fuel ecconomy, and a much fatter spark, MUCH fatter spark. I had issues with missing still at high rpm, turned out to be the stock ecu, the new Central 20 ECU rocks, no miss, going to see if i can get a bigger gap in to get some more fuel ecconomy out of the car. Price wise i got mine trhough slide, took 4 days delived form Japan, can't complain.

catkicker that is one TIDY sweet looking ride. Good luck with the sale. This car looks dam tough on road, love it.
