standard is 17 to 19 vacume PSI, so if you have anything lower check. SIMPLES way to check, get some carby clener, and spray arround all the pipes and hoses and plenums. OR you can make and end up to put into the cooler puping and presurise the system to 15 psi and see if you can hear any leaks, pur on some soapy watter and you get bubbles.

you forgot to mention LOW MODDED R32, DAM LOW, how you manage to get into anywhere is beyond me.

Hi well still trying to find my missfire problems, and many people now thing it migth be an ECU. I have one i can get which has boost cut and stuff removed, but i want to try a stock one to see if that is ok, so i have something to compare with. I NEED IT for a day or two, at the most. If anyone has one available, that i can borrow in the Hobart area, please let me know.

Hat Catkicker, i saw you drive past me ant JDS, dam nice looking car.

Got Splitfires, And 1.0mm Gap=missfire (update) 0.8mm
WogsRus replied to WogsRus's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
OK SO got the car on to have a look at the data scan software, all seams Ok at idle, i didn't get a chance to go for a drive, run out of time, am getting it done on thursday. ONLY thing i noticed, was that the CAS puls, was going 15, 15, 15, 15, 15, 10, 15, 15, 15, 15, 10, 15 ect ect. This is in degrees. SO i don't know what that mean. Haven't had a chance to try ECU, also ran out of time. THE SERCH CONTINIUES -
takes 10 minuts, undo heat sheild, undo lip, and hosing, undo 4 bolts, VERY EASY

If it running out of map, why not get a biger AFM? -
Wanted To Swap: Your Rb20 Actuator For My R34 One + $20
WogsRus replied to 666DAN's topic in Wanted to Buy
PM slide, he has them for $20, i got mine in a day. -
yeah well i installed an R32 actuator, OK in the first 2 gears, creeps maybe 2 psi now vs 5 before, but in 4 th pulled 13.3 psi max, yeeeehhhaaaa. The R32 actuator is sooo much better in responce to teh stock 7psi one. I love it, but it means that i can't run low boost now, so just a temp sollution for me.

yeah i had to leaned mine out heaps, pulled 207rwKw with an SAFC II, 12 psi and some timming. LOL. I started with 147 i think, took 6 hours to get that figure. -
Whats The Average Cost On Changing........
WogsRus replied to maximumrpm's topic in General Maintenance
If you are just doing the Belt, about $200-300 providing you have supplied everything. BUT if you are chaning belt, do the idler bearings, water pump, and if need be a new oil pump, better safe then sorry. -

tell us how it goes, How will the car deal with the leaning out of the fuel mixture? -

Skylines use air flow protection comming through the AFM, so possibly to adopt something like this, but who knows. -
Got Splitfires, And 1.0mm Gap=missfire (update) 0.8mm
WogsRus replied to WogsRus's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
INTERESTING THREAD I FOUND http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/67665-sp...missfire-2.html "IIRC splitfires have a longer dwell time/angle than stock, something like 1.7ms vs 1.3ms? There was a post from Hugh from ages ago with the info in" ALOS "Installation was a snap. The dyno graphs show where the stock ignition fell short on voltage. The instructions mention that you should switch to cooler plugs when upgrading power adders. Thankfully, all of the directions are in English" Form another forum, now i already have 6 heatrange, should i try 7 -
Well i will check the connection plugs, but all seam preatty good, will do. In regards to ignitor, i have a S2, and do not have it, it's inbuilt to the coils. Does anyone have a S2 loom i can borrow overnight to have a look, i did check mine and it seamed ok, no lose conections or anyting, all good earths. CAN YOU tell me what the plug indexing is, i think i understand, you mean point the electrode tip towards the intake valve, correct? How do you know if it is going to be the correct way in the head? ALSO what do you mean index for height?, ensure that all the plugs are the same spark gap, or hight of electrode? SO DOES anyone have a loom i can borrow?

Got Splitfires, And 1.0mm Gap=missfire (update) 0.8mm
WogsRus replied to WogsRus's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well i will try and see what it does. If the AFM is stuffed, would that not throw up any codes? ALSO if it was the AFM, how does gapping the plugs improve it? Hopefully i will get a new ECU to try tonight. See how it goes. ALSO mine ONLY missfires under WOT or full load, if just putting arround, no issues. I recon it has something to do wiht the power supply to the coils or something. -
I haven't had a chance to get the new ECU in there yet, that will be tomorrow. See how we go.
-
Well i haven't pulled the injectors out, just did the test in the book, voltages, resistance, and pulsed each individially, the thing is each plug looks exactly thesame, no leaning out or nothing. There are no leaks of any sought. The thing is too, it would be missfirying at the TOP aswell but it does not. Well i am oly doing what seamed logical, i mean the coils were definatly shot, the old spark looked like something geriatric. The car performance is definatly better, easier starts, better idle, and fuel consumption is up aswell. I don't have the money to do much more right now, but i might have to look into the injectors. BUT talking to KUTSI it definatly spark related as it happens at the peak cylinder pressure. So who knows. i think it's electrical, in regards to spark.

WogsRus replied to WogsRus's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah well how the hell do i graph the voltage under driving conditions. LOL. migth have to rig something up. LOL. As to the exhaust, i have no cat and straight through muffler. Took it for a drive just now, and the missfire has gone at 0.6mm, but still this is only a band aid sollution, so i am going to have a look more into it. Thanks all for the replies, soo keep them comming, and I PROMIS over time i will get to the bottom of it. -

WogsRus replied to WogsRus's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ALSO i have no error codes, but is it possible that an AFM can be stuffed? It seams strange that the missfire happens at midrange, not high rpm. -
Forgot to add, also checked the spline on the CAS, nice and tight, and no slack on teh timing belt, so that is all good too.

Hay toffy, i did the folowing last night. CAS out and tested, correct opperation and correct voltages. Pulled out the coil loom, correct voltages, and no bad earths, all trigers correct. Coils gettign 12.4V and triger 10.2V. All injectors correct, work as per manual, triger correctly. Now back to 0.6mm gap and see how that goes. I am so fed up, this sux. Sorry all sprakplugs are new too.
