For sale is ONE Intercooler and some associated piping and mounting brackets to suit a S1 R33 Nissan Skyline GTST. This item was removed from my car at 77000 kilometers as I upgraded to a large front mount intercooler. The items are all in excellent condition. The intercooler has no dents or damage and no leaks. It managed to squeeze 200RwKw out of it, but needed to upgrade. The only pipe that is not present is the outlet pipe form the turbo to the intercooler. All piping is in excellent condition with no dents or damage. May require a few bolts and new hose clamps to complete the setup. Shipping and insurance is to be covered by the buyer. For further information about postage costs or details, please PM me and I will respond ASAP to all queries. Item is located in Hobart Tasmania. Asking $100 for the lot.

My mate is building an 64 Hilman Hunter with a set of VG30 Wiseco pistons, they weigh 406g aswell. He is reving his to 9k with new rods ect ect.
-
yeah i have asked myself this too, but there is NO extra cash ATM to spend, plus i need a set of spitfires at first, my gap is down to .6mm.
-
No probs mate, thanks again.
-
hay toffy, I'd love to have a look, but i think the r43 turbo had a different trim compressor, so does that mean the hausing is different or will it bolt straight up?
-
toffy did you still want the stock cooler, i am about to sell it?
-
so how much can i port keeping the standard flap, 2-3mm or something like that??? I only need to reduce the creep by 3 psi, but if you can only take out so little, i might just leave it and run with 10.6 psi LOW setting.
-
Thanks for the info DJRIFT, the more info the better. I have talkt to a few people now and it seams to be a very common problem. YEEHHHAAA. Well i'm going to look into porting my wastgate to remove some of the creep. SO IF anyone has a stock turbo and can get me some pics to see how much i can port out, that would be great.
-
There is a lot of ORs there. But basically my car is experiancing boost creep, as the stock wastgate is too small with all the mods. So i need to have a look at a stock hausing to see how much i can machine out. Can comone post a pic up of the gate, closed and opened, so i can get an idea how much you can take off. Alternativaly. if somone has a stock rear hausing, can i buy it or lease it, so that i can machine the hausing and then swap mine over etc. Also, if anyone has an R32 10psi actuator, can you give me a bell. As is the car boosts to 10.6psi with the gate fully wired open. The problem is the wastgat starts to open at 7psi and the GIZZMO IBC can not compensate for that much creep. ALSO how else can i cure boost creep? At the moment, the wastgate pressure tap is taken form the IC pipe, before the TB, like the stock one, if i tap it off the turbo hausing, will that help at all.
-
yess i had creep after i installed the dump pipe, but it was harder to dignose as the bleeder valve was shit anyway. I am still to recive a new gizzmo controller as i am sure mine is faulty. I have not been able to set the IBC up, as the creep plays havick with the system.
-
ok but what is the number you are using, you can just check this, i want to know what number you are ysing to get that boost. SO PLEASE give me boost reached at what duty, so i can compare it. I am experiancing boost creep and need to know how to solve it.

Need A Pic Of Stock R33 S2 Turbo Wastgate
WogsRus replied to WogsRus's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
it's a stock turbo, but it creeps up to 10.6 psi. How else can i cure the problem? I tried to controll boost any which way i can, but if you connect it directyl form the IC i get 10.6 psi, with the gate fully open, still 10.6 psi. I have a stock BOV which has been pressed in a little, about 5 mm, but the problem started to occur long before that was done, actually it was just after the dump was changed. So i pressume boost creep is due to the wastgate. Can somone elaborate. I have read heaps of pages on the internet, all regarding creep, and it all point to the wastgate. -
juts machine the stock one. the issue is called boost creep. Think of the exhaust gas as watter, it is going to find the easies path out of the exhauts, so a tiny wastgate is not as easy as a free revving turbine, hence the creep problem. I am going to atemp and port mine, but if not, it cost 380 for a new housing ect to get done, and if that is the case pay an extra 400 and get a new turbo. I might just have to put up with 12 psi.
-
Need to see how much meet i can port out.
-
Well i took my car in to have a look see into the problem. AND it the stock wastgate. What happens with my car is that at low rpm the car boost to 7psi and at high rpm it works its way up to 10.6 psi. With the gate fully open, i get thesame, this means the gate is too small. SO i need to take the rear housing off and machine it. YEEHHHAAA. Dam it. It's a common problem as hell, many people just don't warry about it, or their exhaust is not free flowing enough etc, etc. There are many such problems.

The gizzmo works by learning the wastgate and turbo characteristics of the car. so you set the minimum duty of the GIZZZMO selenoid, and this pulses the selenoid at a set rate. Once you have done this, you drive the car through 2 and 3rd gears at WOT to see how much max boost is achived. This is the remember by the gizzmo. So now the gizzmo knows that to achive that boost it has to pulse the selenoid at that rate. The beauty with the gizzmo is that it is a closed loop circuit once it has learned the characteristics of the car. This means that if you have a cold morning it will open the wastgat sooner to compensate for the denser air, and vice versa. THE only problem is, once you have a nice exhaust, no cat, FMIC, and all the mods, the stock turbo wastgate is too small to bleed off enough air, simple. many people don't warry about it and set the boost to 12 psi and it's all fine. However i want to run 7psi, 10 psi 12 psi and 14psi, as it has 4 boost memeories. Once you have set the boost setings, you can go throught and set the responce of the boost, ie: how hard it comes on. This is a trial and error thing, to much gain, and the boost will be unstable, to little and it will be to slow. So you play arround with this and it's all good. Now i can set mine to 12 or 14 psi, and i can get 14 psi by 3500-4000rpm and it comes on HARD. Things like an Apexi EBD have manual duty controll, so you can tell it to open the gate compleatly at what rpm, so if you have wastgat problems they are not as easy to pick up. But the gizzmo is the MOST powerfull processor controller on the marcket and it is half the price. I looked into a Jaycar kit, but you have to build it yourself, or get somone to do it. Form what i heard they are great, but not what i was after. So i went for the gizzmo as it offers acurate controll, providing the wastgat turbo is correct, it's the fastest processor and it is $360. As for advice, yeah the conclution is all the same, wastgat is too small. I put the stock cat in to restric the exhaust flow, and i droped dow to 9.6psi boost, and fully open the wastgat still comes upt o 9.6psi, so it's definatly the wastgat. I don't feel like pulling it all off, but i have to.

Help Me With My Boost Settings, Wastegate, Turbo Settings.
WogsRus replied to WogsRus's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Anyone else, does it sound like a wastgate problem -
Ok. ONE) the electronic selenoid is only set at a set duty, so all it does is on and off, if the boost is higher, it does not adjust the selenoid duty to compensate. TWO) the GIZZMO is a normaly open selenoid, this means that at all times it is open, untill it reaches max set duty at which point it shuts and regulates the boost. HOWEVER, if your wastgate is not the correct size, you get boost creep, and no boost controll as such. SO putting my cat back in allows for some more restriction in the exhaust, meaning that the turbo will not floww as much gas, and hence the effect of undersized wastgate will be minimised. I have plumed the wastgate straight back from the IC side and the boost creeps up after 4500 rpm, so the wastgate is too small. Anyway, i'm gona ask Kutsie to have a look and go from there.
-
i meant i will put the cat in now to introduce some resistance in flow.
-
I will do mine myself at my mates workshop, got most of it orgornised. will wire the gate open tonight and go for a drive and see if it is that. Go from there. Will also put a cat in to introduce some resistance to exhaust flow.
-
yeah i have read a lot of topics and all of the point to the wastgate being too small. So it looks like i am going to have to port my turbo wastgate, yeehhhaaa, something i definatly did not want to do. Does anyone know if i can do it without taking the turbo off. I would like to do it with the turbo in place, with the dump off. As to the cat, yeah it will restrict the flow, but i can try i suppose, introduce some restriction into the exhaust, will cause the turbo to flow less air and hence the wastgat will flow less. BUGGA. How much did it cost you to port the wastgate skizza?
