  1. Well i recon i'll be going back soon. This mornign the car ran crap, i think a lot of that has to do with the overboost. When cold the boost creeeps up a lot, about 3 psi, so this mornign she strugeled a bit, but once warm all good. I will need to investigate as to what is going on. I need a good boost controller first. Dam it, i never figured owning a turbo would be so fidly. LOL. Another day, another Dyno, more money. Story of my life. LOL.
  2. So today i had a dyno run and my $22 boost controller was well, crap, so i need a new one. There are so many out there on the market, so can somone help me pick one. I have no idea what is best bang for your buck. I realy like the functions that the APEXI AVC-R has, but it's a bit much. I have also hear good things about GIZZMO IBC ect. What about turbosmart ect. There are just sooo many and not sure what to get. I have alos heard good things about the JAYCAR units, but by the time you get everything and wire it up, cost are about $200 or so. Can people help me pick one and tell me what to go for and what to stay away from. PLEASE. Thanks BTW, here is my dyno run, as you can see the boost is all over the place, spiking ect.
  3. How much and why that much, LOL. Nah at the moment i'm a bit low on funds, like i said i need a god boost controller, WOULD love to get an APEXI AVC-R but theya re pricy, maybe something simple like a turbotech or there abouts. I have read about the JAYCAR kit, but not too sure, not to handy with electronics, plus for the price of the controler and kit and bits and pices is about $200, same as some turbotech items. What do you guys recomend. I heard good things about GIZZMO IBC
  4. I forgot to mention that thanks go out to Toffy, for suplying the "high flow" CAT, works a charm mate, i'm preaty sure i will get defected for the flames. To yawak and chinna for the work on the intercooler and helping out. We found that by disconecting the VCT the low down power was much higher but then suffered at the top. It weird, i mean you get to 5000rpm and it's like somone put a fire cracker under it, just flyes off. My problem is that the boost spike is exactly at the VCT change and the computer backs of the timing, so it excentuates the problem, but once the boost controller is in, we will give it another go. I would love to have 200rwKw, just to say i have it.
  5. Cost wise not sure if i should tell but it was $200, i helped out a bit. I think it is best to be there to see it all, you get a lot more feedback to what the car is doing. Seing what was adjusted and when, i know if the car stumbles a bit or something funny, i know where the problem spots on the fuel map are. My map was preaty simple, the 1.5 series skylines are freaks, they seam to respond well to power mods. Basically we pulled the map down and up with the Fuel Pressure Reg first, that is the safest way, that way no matter what the computer does the map is almost good. Then we had to add a bit of fuel through the mid range and then take a whole heap out at the top. We also maped low throttel map for cruising. Basicaly -8 all the way through, and still safe. So now all i need is a decent boost controller and go from there. Do another map, and have some fun. LOL.
  6. i used premium unleaded, I found that the 98 ultimate stuff makes no differance at all, unless you have a high performance engine. As my car only has the stock computer with the SAFC II as pigy back, it made no differance, and as you can see there is a large power increase from 4500 to 5500 rpm. This happen as a result of teh computer taking the timing out as teh boost spiked. So far so good, pools liek a freight train.
  7. Just did mine this morning, cost was $200 aswell and it took about 3 hours, but we did a lot of runs to get it spot on. End result [email protected] psi
  8. Well last night was probably the first night were I got next to no sleep, in a long time. I was laying in bed all night thinking, what might break, how much power I will make, I hope everything is ok. So this morning I turned up to Pro Automotive, to be met by Andrew Kutsz, the owner, he seamed a little grumpy at first, but I guess we all are at 8 am. We proceeded to get the car into place, and wire up all the sensors ect. The car was wired and ready. I stood back and watched, the first figure came in. ONLY managed a mere 147rwKw at first, with the map so lean, Andrew got worried. After a short discussion as to how he became involved in the industry ect ect, it turned out we had a lot more in common, both loved cars, and both were POLISH. Well what a small world. LOL. So we bumped up the fuel pressure, so we had a good base to start with, and managed 165rwKw but the map was all over the place. So little by little and over the next 3 hours, Andrew ironed out all the bumps. The proof is on paper. The car managed a healthy 187 [email protected] psi, also with spikes but I have to live with that for now. The timing was spot on as set by me, good to know I have a good mechanical ear. LOL. All in all it was a blast, hearing the RB at full noise, is almost orgasmic, and the 3ft flames out the exhaust on deceleration, very nice. I found that Andrew really knew what he was on about, he was very approachable and good at his trade, these days it hard to find people like that. My Mods are: 95 R33 gtst, FMIC, Fuel pump, FPR, SAFC II, dump and exhaust. Here are some pics and the proof. I didn't get the AFR maps, I’m happy with it. I have them on paper but need to print them off. Final figure was [email protected] psi with almost perfect AFR's. BTW, Andrew uses a DynoLogics Dyno, so there are REAL Kw not shootout mode or what ever. EDIT: An APOLOGY must be made to Kutsie and all the readers. The figure of 207 rwKw was obtained by me using dyno graph interpolation and the inputing the values into software to obtain a THEORETICAL power figure. This was WRONG on my behalf and i am sorry if i have missled people and IN ANY WAY . ANDREW if you are reading this i sencearly apologise, i did not mean any harm and i know that BULL SHIT is wrong. So Once again i apologise to all the readers and ADREW himself. I was a knob and i know it, but being a man, sometimes we think to much with our ego. SO ONCE again, ANDREW at Pro Automotive, sorry for shit stirring and an apology to all. NO MORE BULL SHIT. Sorry. IF the moderators see fit and necessary this post may be closed down. ANDREW and the TEAM ARE VERY profesional and all my good comments still stand, It was a great day out. It was very unproffesional of me to make up a power figure that is unsubstantiuated. SORRY.
  9. They are definatly worht it. I had mine tuned this morning, First run 147rwkw with map all over the place. Then we played arround with fuel pressure and got it up to 165rwKw and a good place to start, 3 hours later managed to get a peak of [email protected] psi BUT massive spikes as the boost controller could not do it's job. So backed off to about 10psi and amanaged a nice [email protected] psi. THE SAFC II made a hudge differance, and littel by little the power came up SO i think for $350 plus tunning, well worth the money. Mods are, SAFC II, FMIC, Dump and exhaust 3", HKS pod, bleed valve boost controller, FPR, and a new pump, mine died. here is the proof, as you can see the boost sux.
  10. yeah somone, i ahve same problem, as low as i can go with adjustments.
  11. Yeah, i replaced the pump, but also replaced all lines with new high pressure EFI lines and filer ect ect, all good, i tend to go overboard with all my things, i'm a bit anal. The car runs better and id gettign a tune on tusday. In regards to the pump cradle grouve, i certainly have can't find anything in my tank to secure the pump.
  12. I think there is heaps to do turisty wise, Port Artur, teh Huon, and the roads, ohh the roads. You will tend to pick up a few stone chips here and there fron log trucks, but the roads aren't that bad, i know most of them like the back of my hand, when i had my motorbike, rode all of them. There are some noce drives like down to South Port, VERY NICE. Email us up when you are here and we might orgornise a tassie tour.
  13. yeah mine does thesame, at idle after a long drive the knock will sit at about 10 and at 3000rpm about 3.
  14. LOL. yeah so far so good, the car is getting a tune on tusday so i'll see what we can squise out of her.
  15. dam you, i'm afraid that if i buy a front i wont get a rear.
  16. bring it on......

  18. Yeah i can grab it over the weekend no probs, just tell me when best suits you and i'll come get it. So how much do i owe you?
  19. if you find it give me a call on 0418557585 and i come pick it up. I have a dyno run on tusday, would be nice to fit it on by then
  20. I went there, great bunch of guys, certainly know their stuff, that is where i got teh new pump from. The price for spplitfires form there is more then on the net, but i can get a whole system setup in wasted spark for about $150 but i need an ignitor. so if anyone has one i'de love top buy one. BTW Toffy, found that cat yet? love to have it before tusday as that is my dyno day.
  21. Toffy, what else you got lying arround. I actually have a series 2, but the series 1 front, so i ave no ignitor, BUT if you have one, i'll buy it as i want to swap to a wasted spark ignition system. SO gimemememememe
  22. Hay toffy, if you do that would be SOOO good, i give ya something for it. What you want.
  23. yeah well you can take it out cold and then put 12 v onto it and it closes. I am sure it's this, as when you clam the hose off to it the rpm drops when hot.
  24. and hence the problwm, how do i set the timing, if the rpm does not sit at 650 rpm with the TP off as per maunal to do timing??? I'm preaty sure i have solved it anyway, it's the cold start celenoid that is letting air through to rise the rpm.
