  2. Hi so my problmes are. I tried to fix my idle, well there was no issues, car idled at 650 rpm, but when i tried to do the timing and set it as per manul, with the TP off the idle was at 1200 rpm. so i cranked the acc in as far as it would go and only managed to get it down to 900 rpm, and no more. I did the computer screw aswell and nothing, the idle woudl not increase or decrease any more then 650, i don't want it lower i just want to make sure it's ok. So i followed the guide http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=110431&hl= And did the idle reset, and nothing, with the TP off and the ACC all the way in it would not go lower then 900 rpm, and that is all the way in. The manual from nissan states that the idle needs to be at 650 with the TP off. Once i connected the TP the idle would drop down to 650 and that's it. The other guide however says to disconnec the AAC valve, so whichone is it http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=110434&hl= The whole reason i wan tto do this, is to set my timing properly, and i can't set it at 650 rpm with the TP off as it does not allow me to do so. HELP i'm going insane. I am going to clean the AAC today and cheack for vacume leaks to make sure it's all good. I have heard that testing for vacume leaks is easy if you get some break cleaner with the small tube squirt extension and squirt arround all the pipes and manifold, if the rpm go up, then there is a leak. Can somone give me a pointer as to how else do i check for leaks, exhaust and intake, i can't hear anything, but my fuel consumption is about 350 km in town for 50 liters and about 500kms on the higway. BTW the car has a full 3" exhauts and cat and dump, FMIC, HKS POD, .8mm plugs, timming at 15deg at 900 rpm, boost at 8psi. SO what is up??????

  4. Ok so here it is then I turn the car on this morning and still acts thesame, cold start work fine. Why can i not get my AAC idel screw to bring the idel lower then 900 rpm. Also fideled with the computer screw, and nothing, doesn't make it go up or down, with or withouth the TP set on. HELP, i think i am going to go insane with this car, everytime i think i have it sussed out and all good, something hapens or i find soemthing new that might not be thesame. booohoooooooo.
  5. what i mean is that the AAC valve does not go lower then 900 rpm, so i can't seam to set it properly, i thorght that once the TP is off, you can set the id;e by the AAC to 650 rpm, mine only goes down to 900 rpm.
  6. i want to do my idle properly, and same for the timing, and timing seting is rpm dependant. SO i can't do it properly. From reading other post, once the TP is off the rpm should drop, but mine rise to 900 rpm and i can't get them down anyfurther.
  7. Ok so today i tried to reset my idel, to get the timing correct. I tried to do what the manual said to do and the guides on here. Ok warm the car up. Turn off, disconnect the TP sensor, turn the car on, idel is at 1200 rpm, so turn the AAC valve, all the way in, and the car only came down to 900 rpm. Reconnect the TP car rpm drops down to 650. HUMMMM OK so what is going on, is it suppose to be, i can't sent the timing as it has to be done at 650 rpm with the TP off, but i can't get it that low. Will cleaning the AAC fix this, i have no idling issues, but i am a bit warried taht something is wrong. HELLPPPP somone point me in the right direction.
  8. ok so here we go again. I went to check my base idel with the AAC valve, and she was sitting at 1200 rpm with the TP off. So i turned it all the way in, and only got it down to 900rpm, reconect the TP, down to 650 rpm, and i could not do anything on the computer to get it anylower, you know the screw adjusting thing. So ok, re-did the timing on that, and the car pulls much better, also leaned out the map a bit, and dam does it pull now, yeeehhhaa. Looks like most of the problems are solved, well appart from the AAC being stupid, i think it's time for a clean. The car is goign for a tune next week, so i am goignt o try and clean my AAC valve and get the idel to be OK. Either way the car runs fine, who knows. ANYONE have any ideas what the deal is with the AAC valve???
  9. there is an SAFC, super air flow convertor and SAFC II the new version, with more features, more load points. SAFC NEO, has the SAFC II features along with Vtec controll ect. You need a SAFC II or SAFC. I don't think the extra features in SAFC NEO are worth the extra money, i have an SAFC II, i git a brand new one from ebay for $350, made a big differance.

  11. have you set the rpm limit on the SAFC. Not sure why it lags though, mine is spot on. Humm, where are you picking up the tach signal from?
  12. buga, ONE POINT ON THE TIMING SETING? you need to disconnect the TP to se the timing, and if i do that timing shows 18 deg once teh TP goes back on it will only show 13 deg, why is that and is something else wrong?
  13. i can make up a pipe, but the reality is i will be propably driving without one, co i need to get one that i can put a pipe through to make it look like a proper cat. Anyone has one. And i don't recon i will sell mine, if i ever sell the car it will go back on that.
  14. oppps checked my timming, and with the TP off it was 10 deg, i reset to 15, ran crap, reset to 18 OK muccchhhh better. HOWEVER when the TP goes back on the timing goes back to about 13 or so. IS this normal. Anyone done their timing themselves, the manual says to do it with the TP off????
  15. well it took me a whole day to put the coole on the way i wanted, not pullin git off now. I am just not sure what it could be, it sounds lice valve bounce, as if the springs can't rev that hight or something, but it goes dam hard, but above 6000 or so rpm, it seams a bit weird. Leaning out makes no difeerance, ritchening up makes no differance eaither. I set the timing by unplugign the throttel sensor and setting it to about 18 deg, as the manual states, well it states 15 but i prefer 18, and then reconected everything. if i had an exhauts crack or something, would you hear it, what would the symptoms be. Also if it's the colis or something, would the car give out at high rpm or something like that. How do i test the coils, what ohms ect??? Dam turbos, atmo is sooooo muc easier, lol.

Hi Well today i installed my new cooler, the car ran shit at first, cos it was just not use to it, then i found my timmin gwas out, so fixed that, and well the car pull like the proverbial, but not after 6000rpm, the engine sounds a bit like its flat, and valve bouncing or something of that nature, tried to sure it by stuffing arround with my SAFC II and no good, still does it, it's a funny sound. I don't think it's my timming i set that to 18 deg, seams to go better, i followed the skyline manual to do this. I am still running stock boost and plugs gapped to .8mm but maybe the coils are on the way out. What are the coils suppose to be, how do i check them. PLEASE HELP. Other then that the car has a new fuel pump, and filter, and a new adjustable pressure reg, new temp sensor and )2 sensor. Pod ect ect. What are some common problems that mioght be occuring, can somone give me some pointers? HELP URGENTLY. PLEASE. Could it be cracked manifold or something to that nature? ANYTHING??????

  23. liz helped me out, my sunn roof, gets stuck sometime so it's a bit hard to open, but i didn't want to pull all the rails out, greased mine up a bit, and seams better, but basically it doesn't always close streight, well use to. I had to shimm up my glass with some home made shimms, out of LINO, cos it's soft and squishy, and used them under teh sunroof tabs to bring the roof up, but to get it allighned properly, you need to undo all the 6 bolts, when the roof is closed and then fiddel with it to get exact allignment.
  24. HI I need an old CAT to fit an R33 with the temperature probe. I have a brand NEW one on the car, high flow, but i want to get rid of it and get a nice, "HIGH FLOW" cat on. So if anyone has one, i can have cheep, damaged dented, anything, send me a PM. PLEASE. Thanks
  25. Yeah well i'm hoping that once boost is at 12 psi, the car will be a lot more then 160kW. LOL. only two weeks left
